The Mana Kai Maui Resort is located at the extreme south end of Kihei, bordering Wailea. This is a one of a kind property to be found at no other location in all of Maui. In addition, the Mana Kai has undergone a 25 million dollar facelift, making it a first rate resort.
Hi! My name is Yasmine and my parents own 3 Mana Kai condos that I help rent and manage for them. I live in Washington State where my husband is a Police Officer, but my parents and the business office are located in central California where I grew up. My husband Jason and I met at at college in Utah, and then we moved to Washington which is where he grew up as a farm boy. We've been married 13 years and have three small boys who love to travel as much as we do, but it's getting harder now that they are in school. We make it to Maui at least twice a year, with or without the kids!
Yasmine purchased this condo in 2008
My parents discovered the Mana Kai when I was young--probably about 7 or 8 years old--and then we became annual visitors, spending every spring break there until I graduated from High School. Then a few years ago, on an anniversary trip, my parents decided to invest in the resort that brought us so many happy memories. My siblings and I would spend hours on this beach, boogie boarding, body surfing, and playing in the sand. My Dad says there is a sort of 'magic' about this spot. We explored the rest of Maui and the other Hawaiian islands, but always kept coming back here. The combination of the angle of the building, the height of the building, sunny weather, and the family friendly beach makes it a unique spot on Maui. Also, the Mana Kai has become a fabulous resort with wonderful upgrades and amenities.
You just can't beat the view, everytime we come it takes our breath away. We also love hearing the crash of the ocean waves, and often sleep with only the screen door shut so we can fall asleep to it. Jason likes to get up early, and every morning I would wake to see him on the lanai, sipping guava juice and watching the ocean.
As a kid, I remember arriving at the Mana Kai and rushing through the lobby and onto the beach before my parents even had the luggage out of the car. Sometimes renters ask me, 'how far do we have to walk to the beach?', and I'm always so glad to answer that question: 'Just through the lobby, past the pool, and you're THERE!'
This top floor condo was great and even more than we hoped. Newly updated with all the conveniences of home. Our last 4 days we didn't have a car and didn't miss it at all as Uber was mostly available too. The location is perfect for snorkeling, beach time and with restaurants nearby you have the ability to relax. Stay here, you will not be disappointed!
We stayed here 7 nights. The condo has everything from towels to cooking gadgets. The views from the balcony are spectacular. There were 6 of us and we used both beds and a pull out couch. We cooked in the condo a lot. They provide wifi, beach towels. You can purchase tokens to do laundry on site which was very needed with two small kids. There is a small store on the first floor and a pool plus a restaurant. The beach was right there so no need to drive. Condo was remodelled. There was construction going on in the building but we did not hear much noise from it. I would go back here. Very spacious place.
Overall a wonderful building and unit, have absolutely no complaints whatsoever. We were here for 4 nights prior to heading down to the other end of the island and it was amazing. Five Palms is a great restaurant and great to have right there, there sushi happy hour is an unbelievable value. The beach is right outside the door unlike most locations in Kihei where you need to cross over the street, so super convenient. My kids were literally having to avoid the sea turtles in the ocean right outside the condo tower, they were consistently just swimming up to us and hanging out throughout the day. We saw considerably more sea turtles here than on the "sea turtle snorkel excursion" we went on...
Overall, we will definitely try to rent in this tower again, and would love to get this exact unit. Thanks again!
This place is amazing. The views are spectacular and beach is very nice. The condo is perfect for a family of 4. We stayed in Hana for 2 nights (house) and Kapalua (Ritz) for 3 nights and in this condo for 3 nights. This was the overwelming favorite and sorry we didn't skip the Ritz.
The building and location are terrific. Really great, right on the beach and near everything. The suite is quite standard for the building but very good. Easily fit our 3 adult kids and ourselves. The beds are all quite good and the appliances and utensils are in good shape. The whole place was very clean. Only two quibbles, the linen is quite dated, and the bigger tv was marginally functional. Having said that would happily stay again. The company was very good to deal with. The price was good considering the time of year. It was way better than staying in a hotel. I would rate it 4.5/5 . Thanks
Wonderful location and helpful staff. Happy hour at Five Palms in the facility was nice with great food. Zachs Deli was great. Renting equipment there on the property was nice and conveinent. The only person a little snippy was the lady at the activities desk. The Condo itself was nice with a beautiful view. Left the balcony door open with the screen shut every night to listen to the waves. The most amazing sunsets ever! The bed in master was comfortable and loved the pillow. Loved being in Kihei. Watched many whales even saw a Momma whale give birth to a baby. Would love to return again soon.
The Mana Kai is directly on Keawakapu beach-- a fantastic family friendly sandy beach. It is great for boogie boarding, Whale-Watching, snorkeling with the turtles.
