Overview

Tulum House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, 1 half-bath (Sleeps 6)

Casakoolba means the house of letting-go, a name created by putting two words together, one spanish, one mayan. It is a place where worries and pressures can disappear,.being so close to the magnificent Caribbean with its exquisite colours and lovely breezes. Casakoolba offers a warm time-out-of-time to any visitor. The house is quite open; designed as it is to catch the lovely almost constant breezes that characterize this area, the house can however be safely secured when desired. A visitor feels very close to the elements here. It is a perfect place for small families or groups who want a direct experience of the beauty and tranquility that is still the hallmark of Bahia Soliman.

A deposit of one day's rental is required. The outstanding amount is to be paid in cash to our Property Manager in Mexico. Many thanks.

Emanuel, the caretaker at Casakoolba makes visitors feel at home, answers their needs, and ensures security - He also cooks like a dream! Maricarmen Cerda, the house manager takes care of all financial matters for guests while in Mexico and can answer any and all questions in English.

Testimonials from our guests:

'Your house has been a refuge from it all. We have felt peace and serenity here'.

Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from 2 weeks at Casa Koolba and are already dreaming of the next time we'll be able to go. The house is well maintained and has comfortable seating on the deck that overlooks the most beautiful stretch of beach I've ever seen. We spent quite a bit of time on the beach lounges and in the hammocks which is well shaded if you don't want to be in the direct sun all day. By the way the wifi does reach the beach. We brought our Bose speaker and it worked great. We kayaked ( there is one) or snorkeled (there are several masks, snorkels and fins) every day and saw many beautiful fish and rays. We visited Chamicos, just at the end of the bay, several times while we were there to enjoy the ceviche, delicious!

The property manager, Maricarmen, came by and we had a wonderful visit. She's very personable and wanted to make sure that we were well taken care of. She's a local so she can give you tips on restaurants, excursions, etc..

We were well taken care of by Manuel and his wife Marta. Really sweet people and hard workers. Manuel is a wonderful chef also! I would highly recommend the Gouda stuffed, bacon wrapped shrimp.

We hope to return for a 3rd visit soon!

Simply Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Love everything about this rental. Air flow, beach access, amenities, location, it's really everything a beach house needs to be. I live in Mexico and often visit the Riviera, and this has to be one of the best stays yet. I'm already planning my next trip, it was that good.

A big thanks to Emanuel the property manager too. Super friendly & professional.

Nothing short of paradise!

I stayed here last week with my in-laws, husband and our two year old son. This was our first family vacation of the sort and we had an amazing stay. The house is perfect for an extended family or group of friends. The bedrooms and bathrooms are private and pretty quiet. There is always a breeze that flows off the ocean and into the house. Each time we left the house to shop or eat we questioned why we were even leaving! The beach itself was very private and quiet. We used the kayak and snorkeling gear often. My son napped in the hammocks everyday (he never naps!).

There are a couple a neighborhood dogs that hung out day and night which was kind of nice. They are both very sweet pups.

Emanuel and Martha the care takers are sweet, salt of the earth people. They came by each day to tidy up. My one major regret was not having Emanuel cook for us and if we had an extra day I certainly would have.

The one thing I'll mention that threw me off a bit when I booked was the payment method- $200 deposit through pay pal and then paid the balance in cash upon arrival. After all was said and done this went perfectly fine. I'd prefer to pay the whole balance electronically but for future renters, you should not be concerned with their choice of payment.

This is definitely a home that I will want to return to in the future with friends and family. There is a special place in my heart for Casa Koolba and Soliman Bay!!

We will be back! An amazing Value!

  • 5 of 5

We have been back to the states for less than 12 hours from 10 wonderful nights at Casakoolba. The first day when Manuel was giving us the tour - The house was completely dark inside and he opened the first 2 back doors . . . HONESTLY & LITERALLY took my breath away. Obviously, as stated in previous reviews, it is peaceful and quiet and serene, so I'm going to mention a few things that aren't covered in other reviews. *The house is so well laid out, everyone has private spaces (that's why it is perfect for families with teens or 2 small families - my teenager LOVED having is own casa, the green bedroom is separated from the main area) *Plan enough time in your trip to be back "home" by 3pm at least. You will grow accustomed to your hammock and Kahlua time, and even Cenotes pale in comparison. *There is a tiny store (The Bob) behind the pink house 2 houses down that has drinks, candy and some staples. Not too extravagant prices, plus Timmy the puppy! *3 dogs, not 2 will potentially come over. Be careful with the bigger black and white one, Spike. He takes awhile to warm up to people, so gave us a few warning bites. *WIFI reaches to the beach, important for teens! *Take a deserted walk to the far left side of the bay to see the crashing waves and tide pools *The restaurant inside the Jashita hotel (maybe 3 minute walk), is very good, has meals for less than $10 US and is so ambient, quiet and peaceful - wish we would have eaten there more.

DO NOT HESITITATE AND BOOK THIS ASAP! You will be in for the time of your life!

Healing Spa

  • 5 of 5

We just recently returned from a most relaxing and magical stay in Soliman Bay. We have been coming to the Bay for many years. This was our second visit to Casakoolba and we have already reserved again for next year. Word is getting out about how great this beach house is and high season gets booked early. The pictures just don't do it justice! Most of the other reviews have told the story better than I. I love the Bay for snorkeling, kayaking, just floating around in the crystal turquoise water, and walking to the north and south "points". I love Casakoolba for the expansive porch which is really an additional living and dining area, the folding doors that open the house up to nature and the ocean breezes, the main bedroom with its tall palapa ceiling, the wood floors, the shaded front yard (chit and coco palms) with a palapa by the water with hammocks and lounge chairs... Casakoolba is located at the north end of the bay which tends to have warmer and calmer water. There is a sandy path through the turtle grass, and lots of coral heads to investigate within easy snorkeling distance.

Casakoolba is truly is the "House of Letting Go". The salty ocean breezes and the warm water are very soothing and cleansing. Massages by Lucia are very healing. The caretakers Manuel and Marta do an excellent job of caring for the property and guests comforts.

Bounty-Beauty-Full

Super!

Superb!

Superlative!

This place offers more than you can imagine! It is a place where you can disconnect from the daily stress. This place smiles at you, even if it thundering outside. It is a spacious house with everything you need. A few remarkable art pieces will make your thoughts wonder. The kitchen is equipped very well and Emmanuel is an asset. He is multi-talented. He will take care of any needs and he is a great cook. Our family enjoyed his meals very much.

This house has no secrets, all is open to the senses. It is there for you to discover the mysteries that lay around: fishing, snorkeling, kayaking, stargazing are just a few highlights. You will be grateful if you brought your watershoes; the bountiful sea life starts from the shore and you might want to avoid stepping directly unto the seashells or rocks. The water is incredible: clear, calm, warm.

A place where your heart will open, feel the joy and sing!
