This charming, well-equipped 2 bedroom, 1 bath chalet is located in the heart of the Maine High Peaks Region. Just 4 miles north of Sugarloaf USA, 40 minutes from Saddleback, and within easy reach of the surrounding towns of Stratton, Kingfield, and Rangeley, this cozy home is an ideal getaway. Offering fabulous views of the Bigelow Mountain Range in a private setting, this home is complemented by a full basement with washer/dryer, screen porch, large loft with 2 twin beds and a foosball table. The garage is the perfect spot to store auto, skis, snowmobiles, or ATV's!
Loved this place! it was cozy, well furnished and in a great location. the owners were super nice, friendly, and helpful! i would stay here again!
We had a lovely time at Susan's cabin. The fire was warm, the skiing was great, and the beds were cozy. Recommended for a weekend away.
Thank you Glenn and Susan Wilcox! We had a wonderful stay in your Off-Mountain Chalet over the past Christmas holidays. Your beautiful property and quiet/private setting was perfect in every way and the pictures just don't convey how special it is. Plus the dining experiences in the valley were some of the best anywhere. While the snow on the slopes was a little lean due to El Nino, we enjoyed trail running on the multitude of sanctioned trails in the area. Thanks again, Victor and Kristin Knight
Have spent several holidays there and it gets better every time. Owners take great pride in their home and the surroundings are amazing. Owners are very accommodating and have a genuine interest in making your stay memorable and comfortable, can't really say enough good things about it.
We spent a wonderful little Christmas vacation in this beautiful, wooden cabin, ca. 10 min drive away from the Skiing resort of Sugarloaf, Maine - tucked away in a quiet beautiful little area in the woods. The cabin features a real (wood-burning) fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen, a garage for the car, some garden space around the house and everything exactly as advertised - we had a great time there as a small family of 3 (with our 3yr old son). For us the house was big, would have been big enough for two families our size. It is the last house in a little side road - so perfect if you are looking for some soothing vacation outside the cities. You definitely feel that the owners are caring about this house and keep it well.
Regularly renting and looking for similar places in nice areas (we prefer them to hotels) we learned that usually photos look better than the reality - with this place it was the other way round, it is even nicer than on the photos!
The owners were very helpful and well organized - getting the keys, finding a lot of tips and hints on what to do and where to find things. Everything worked out well.
Sugarloaf was a nice little skiing area - we really enjoyed our time there. Seemed to us a well kept secret of the Eastern Skiing Resorts - many slopes, well prepared and yet not overly crowded. Most of the License Plates were from Maine and Massachusetts - I guess the crowds meet in the Vermont Resorts instead (do not tell them that we prefer Sugarloaf since it is much nicer!).
This cozy home is located on the end of a quiet road only 4 miles from the Sugartloaf ski area, near the Appalachian Trail, with beautiful views of the Bigelow Mt. range. It was spotlessly clean and well outfitted. We enjoyed crackling fires in the fireplace and watching high def. cable TV in the evenings after skiing all day. There is a foosball table and TV in the upstairs loft gameroom and bedroom. The White Wolf Restaurant in nearby Stratton had good food for a moderate price. The owner was very cordial and acknowledged and responded to all communications promptly. I would rent this house again.
