This upper 3 bedroom 2 bathroom self-catering apartment occupies the best plot on 'The Pines', the SW facing front line corner. It has glorious 180 degree elevated views from both the terrace off the lounge and the huge rooftop solarium over the village to the distant marina and headland which mark the end of the bay. This property has an especially light and open feel with the lower slope of a mountain to the side and the sea continuously on the horizon across the entire front, broken only by the pretty roofs and gardens of a few lonely villas way down below. Furnished and equipped to the highest of standards with solid wood furniture in a cool blue finish and luxurious leather corner seating, this really is a most welcoming and comfortable holiday home for couples and families alike. With such a calming atmosphere and everything you could possibly want, including ducted air con/heating, TV, WIFI, BBQ and shared pool, we feel sure you will enjoy a memorable stay at La Casita.

El Pinar de San Gines, known as 'The Pines', is a much sought after development in the beautiful traditional and unspoiled fishing village of La Azohia, tucked beneath mountains, and fronted by lovely villas in a quiet location away from any busy roads and yet just a short stroll from the sea. The properties are mainly in just two tiers joined only on corners, with one below and one above, in a convenient apartment-style layout. With beautiful mature gardens and paths winding in and out, the community has the feel of a Spanish village within a village and several people have made it their permanent home. Every week day a bread man comes through The Pines peeping his horn and you will soon get to know him and his lovely breads, croissants and delicious Empanadas. There is a shared pool for use by residents which is in a secluded location with mountain views, lovely plants around and seating. The Pines has become highly regarded in a very short time perhaps equally for its truly stunning location, the quality of the properties and the safe environment it offers families with children. La Azohia is famous for its magnificent sun sets and the development was built in the perfect position in order to appreciate them to the full - sufficiently elevated but with no steep slopes to negotiate as you wander down to the seafront.

When I think of the view from the balcony, WOW!!!

What we found here was peace, fresh air (no midgets) ,smiling faces from neighbours , short walk to the shop, resturants and the sea.We are into History so the place intrigued us with historical sights short distances away. I was the only swimmer and in March the sea was lovely. (no jellyfish). La Azohia is as it says ,a quaint fishing village.lovely place for lunch. they closed early in March.The apartment had everything ,( what a welcome package) thanks again, Very well maintained.and spaceous .Television with channels for the lazy teenagers. but I have to say the place was so great they didnt sit for long. Ann

Heerlijk verblijf op prachtige locatie, relaxing!

Een heerlijke woning, waar het je aan niets ontbreekt. Alles is aanwezig, van keukenrol tot afwasmiddel, uitgebreide keukenapparatuur, handdoeken en badlakens. Fantastische bedden, 2 badkamers, een heerlijk dakterras met bbq en de hele dag zon! Een adembenemend uitzicht op zee, zo prachtig! Loopafstand naar strand en zee, ongeveer 5 minuten. Minpunt was het zwembad wat de hele dag in de schaduw ligt, maar wellicht is dit anders in de zomer (wij waren hier in de meivakantie). Klein minpuntje was ook het gemis van 1 strandbed, omdat dit de week voor onze aankomst weggevlogen was door de harde wind. Volgens de eigenaresse is nu het 4e bed weer opnieuw geplaatst.

Wij hopen hier zeker weer een keer terug te komen.

Superb Apartment,Superb Location!!

This year will be our 5th time to LA CASITA,a superb apartment with superb views across the bay to La Azohia and Puerto Mazzaron.With everything you need within the apartment it's like home from home.local amenities are within a short walk away.The top solarium is a great place to relax and chill.Overall a 5 star apartment.

Certainly excellent for a winter stay.

The sun pours in over the dining table at 9 am. Sun terrace and balcony good for sun and views. Everything matched the description. The agents couldn't be more helpful. We found lots to visit and winter is a good time.

The restaurant The Antipodes' is good and friendly with a splendid view. 'Vista Bella' does good paellas which can be ordered as take aways to be eaten on the sun terrace at La Casita! However the restaurant 'La Azohia' disappointed us enormously!

There is a very pleasant easy walk along the coast from La Azohia to Isla Plana.

I would certainly recommend this rental and intend to return. (We stayed 4 weeks.)

Review of La Casita , La Azohía

Top tip to drivers, If this your first time La Azohía, make sure you arrive with plenty of daylight. The road down to the coast is very steep and winding with deep ravines if you make a mistake. The surface of the road is very good but at night in poor weather? Please don`t do it. We did, but won`t again. When you see it in the daylight the views down to the coast are breath taking and build an anticipation of what`s to come. You won`t be disappointed. That is, if you like it quiet. That`s quiet as in very quiet.

From the apartment it is a 10 min stroll to the beach. Turning right when you reach the beach is a lovely walk along a newly paved palm tree lined footpath. On your right are some exclusive villas were no-one seems to live. On your left is a sandy beach sloping gently into the blue Mediterranean sea. There are no shops, bars or ant kind of retail outlet.

If you turn left, the beach is less sandy. A walk down here takes you past four or five bars/restaurants and a little Spanish grocery store which in all honesty is not very good. It`s a 15 minute drive to the supermarkets in Puerto de Mazarrón

You take your pick but our favorite little bar was the one past the jetty were the road ends.

The apartment itself is superbly situated with the most fabulous views. It is well appointed with every utensil you could think of. The owner has provided a mass of information about the area, thank you.

If you intend to do any walking take some good walking shoes.

I would highly recommend this apartment if you like it quiet. We loved it, thank you.

This villa is better than the description.Truly a home away from home.The service by Jane was excellent,the locals friendly and helpful.Ideally situated for visiting Murcia, Cartagena Mazzaron and Lorca.Would recommend to anyone wanting a relaxed and pleasant break.

The local area: A five minute stroll down quiet residential avenues brings you straight to the best sandy beach in the exclusive San Gines area of La Azohia. Facing west, this stunning cove enjoys a unique micro-climate with a gently shelving sea and a beautiful palm-lined promenade that stretches two miles and ends at the quaint marina where the fishermen bring in their tuna catches each day. There you can pick up a path to the top of Cabo Tinoso and the Tower of St Helena, a look out originally built in the 16th century, which presides over the village. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants in the village itself, a small but well-stocked Spar shop and a chemist. La Azohia is first and foremost a place for relaxation, fun or walking by the sea - visited by divers from all over Spain for its crystal clear waters and colourful sea beds. Swimming is safe and during summer there are water sports with showers along the beach. Additionally there are snack bars and the ‘Rockola Summer Club’ that springs into life with a lively bar and music to suit all tastes. As well as the superb diving, La Azohia is famous for the Antipodas Tavern, a wonderful bar and restaurant perched on the mountain side above the marina with spectacular sunset views. With more extensive facilities and all kinds of attractions readily available at nearby Isla Plana, Mazarron and the historic town of Cartagena, with your quiet haven to return to, you have the best of all worlds on your doorstep.

The uninterrupted open views of the sea from this room are truly stunning and a sheer delight to wake up to. The second bedroom has two 90 cm twin beds and third has a 130 cm double. Both have plenty of wardrobe space, drawers and/or garment shelves, bedside tables etc. All bedrooms have ceiling fans as well as central air conditioning/heating for your comfort . Please note the maximum occupancy figure of 7 includes an additional young guest on a guest bed offered at our discretion depending on party make-up. Additionally a cot is available for a baby.
