Overview

Central Vermont / Sugarbush / Mad River Valley Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, sleeps 4-5

Located in the heart of the Green Mountains on ten acres. Mountain views and remote feel, but only 20 minutes from Warren/Waitsfield area or 10 minutes to Rochester. Ski or snowshoe out the back door or cozy up and watch movies on home theater with over 200 movies. New, with all the modern amenities, but done in classic cabin style. Enjoy walking/sledding on site or hiking the nearby Long Trail, then a relaxing hot tub under the stars. 15 mins to Middlebury Snow Bowl, 25 mins to Sugarbush and Mad River Glen or 45 to Killington. Great swimming, kayaking, etc. Perfect any season!

Size limitations: The cabin is 850 sq ft. so not designed for large groups. It is one large space downstairs and two separate bedrooms above. It has a much larger feel than it's size indicates however, due to a two story loft above. There is also a generously sized mud room/entry with a heated floor to dry out ski boots and stow gear. It is therefore best suited for couples or small families who are looking for a well designed and appointed quality cabin. Anyone looking for a traditional Vermont experience will certainly enjoy the areas offerings and the warmth and intimacy provided in the cabin.

4wd Car recommendation: It is recommended that you have a 4wd car or truck in the winter.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hi Jeff.

We can't thank you enough for providing us with lodging that is so comfortable and with such nice amenities. After playing tourist during our stay last summer, we stuck a bit closer to home this time. Highlights were finding the swimming holes at Warren Falls and across from Newtons, Sunset Hike and local farmer's markets. Everything we ventured out to do was great fun! Also, it was wonderful to have our dog, Ginger along. Thinking we are hearty Southerners, who have endured a terrifically hot summer thus far, we did not believe we would need the A/C in Vermont, but I must confess that we broke down and used it one evening. We were so thankful for it!

We really appreciate everything!

Cozy and Peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Most wonderful time at the cabin in the mountains, couldn't have been more equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub and movie theater were definitely the highlight of our stay and not to mention our dog absolutely loved it!

We will definitely book this cabin again especially due to the fact the owner is so attentive to your needs and making your stay the most enjoyable as it could possibly be!

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

Very pleased with the visit- a cabin retreat in the country, yet complete with a lot of amenities to make us comfortable just hanging out and unwinding. Hot tub and projector TV along with bluetooth stereo were really nice. The area was quite charming - we enjoyed seeing all the covered bridges and sampling Vermont's very tasty foods. Not required, but recommended to rent an SUV for some of the local roads (we were there in early March). Information in the cabin is very helpful for finding things to do or places to go eat or drink. Jeff, the owner, was super courteous and cabin was well appointed, clean, and welcoming - exactly what we needed after our wedding!

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our family of three had a very relaxing vacation at Jeff's cozy cabin. It had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed using the hot tub every day, and watched at least one movie a day on the big-screen. We enjoyed walking the trail behind the property - a beautiful setting. The location was peaceful and had a nice view of the mountains. We drove into Waitsfield and Warren and stopped at waterfalls along the way. Had a nice breakfast at the Sweet Spot in Waitsfield - they also serve lunch and lots of bakery items. Another day we drove to Middlebury and visited Texas Falls and the Robert Frost Interpretive Trail along the way. While in Middlebury, we visited Otter Creek Brewery, Drop-In Brewery, Vermont Soapworks and Middlebury Sweets ("the largest candy store in Vermont"). We had most meals at the cabin because we just enjoyed being there - it was very cozy. Jeff thought of everything - we had everything we needed, and everything was well marked with instructions where required. We wouldn't hesitate to visit again. Thank you.

Cozy getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying here! This couple has done a wonderful job renovating this house! It's so cozy and perfect to get away from it all! We were able to have a nice fire in the fire pit outside and wrapped up our night in the hot tub with a view the beautiful star lit sky! Thanks Jeff!

Notes:
92'' front screen projection TV that turns the living room into a home movie theater. Over 200 DVD's as well as Direct TV carrying the major networks, sports channels, etc. Recommend four wheel drive (or AWD) vehicle in winter for local roads and driveway. We now have wireless broadband internet service at the cabin, but you'll need your own computer. There is currently AT&T cell phone service in Granville, but Verizon can be gotten 10 minutes away. Living room has a gas stove which resembles a wood stove, but is much safer and cleaner to operate.
