Quiet solitude

  • 5 of 5

If you want to just sit and watch the waves then this is the spot. The house is far enough from the road so that you can't hear it. You are high enough from the beach to get a lovely view of the ocean. There grounds are wonderful to wander with lots of hidden trails and benches. My favorite thing was to lay in the hammock and try to stay awake to watch the ocean. The house is nicely maintained and well stocked with essentials. The beach is very nice and not crowded.

FABULOUS!

  • 4 of 5

Private, clean, perfect for the family. Spent 6 nights here and loved every minute.

Trails to explore, easy walk to the beach where you are pretty much have it all to yourself. Cabin next door hardly notice other than our pups talking to one another in dog language twice in one week! A-Frame is clean, and has anything you would need to prepare a meal for your family. The bathroom is a bit small, and the shower is definetly for folks of smaller stature, but everything in working order. The kids and I left Daddy and Sugar, and drove south about 2 hours to Bandon and visited West Coast Safari Park where you walk thru a small zoo with hands on experiences with some of it's tenants. We got to pet a bengal tiger cub, an adorable fox named "Todd", a baby linx, and fed the free roaming deer, llamas and goats. I went there YEARS ago when I was about 14, back then it was called "Deer Park". We loved that we could take our senior chocolate lab, Sugar, too. She mainly hung out with my husband, who was reading and enjoying the deck 80% of the week. She however, was not a fan of the spiral staircase and chose to sleep on her own bed from home downstairs. Fresh fish from the South Beach Fish market, perfect! We'l love to see a larger grill next time? Small Weber did the job, just took longer to grill for 6 of us. Couldn't tell you if the TV works? We NEVER turned it on! Wi-Fi was totally fine! We LOVE this property and it's history. I've shared this with a few co-workers and friends who were impressed by our vacation photos! Thanks Abby, Zoe, and Mike for being great to work with! We are "The Talley Fly Family" from Pocatello, Idaho, and we'll be back!! ♥

Perfect for 5 of us

  • 5 of 5

This house sits in amazing flowers, trees and shrubbery I have never seen before. Ocean view and just a short walk to the beach. My 3 girls had an amazing time here and built a fort of drift wood they were very proud of. We saw star fish, seals on seal beach and not far up north we happened on some whales!!! Everything is close by to see and some of the most amazing tide pools about 1 mile down the beach going north if you want to walk the beach. Very private and peaceful. We felt like we were alone as we saw very few other people on the beach. Grocery store 2 miles away and lots of fun shops very close by. The house was great, bathroom very small but adequate and large kitchen. We were in our own little piece of heaven for a week and will definitely go back to stay.

Secret Paths

  • 4 of 5

Great last minute weekend. The landscaping is amazing. Little secret paths all over. Right on the beach. Very clean. Everything you need. Worked perfect as it was just my daughter and me here for a friends wedding. But just one very small bathroom. Grab ice in Newport as you are driving in... If you want for drinks...only one tray in freezer... And grab presto log for fireplace. Only wish we had more time to enjoy the deck and beach... Was truly worth the $$

Location CANNOT be beat!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is vintage and charming. Be aware though that there is zero privacy. The two "bedrooms" do have doors but the back wall is open to the downstairs area. Bring ear plugs! There is one small bathroom, but it's remodeled and perfectly functional. There is a spiral staircase to the sleeping arrangements upstairs, may be difficult to navigate for some folks.

That being said, the location and property is AMAZING. Literally knock your socks off fantastic. The expansive basically deserted beach is about 30 steps away down a lovely shrub lined path. Our passle of kids spent most of the vacation in the driftwood forts at the bottom of the path, we couldn't see them but could hear them from our deck perch above the path. With cocktails in our hands, the gorgeous ocean view in front of us, and the beautiful foliage and flowers surrounding us, it was simply perfect.

A mile down the beach to the right are some amazing tide pools. Forget the ones at the Seal Rock state park, just make the short trek down your pretty much private beach and you get tide pools WAY better than those.

This house is dog friendly and my furry girl had the most fun ever. She could wander around off leash on the beach since there was practically no one there, chased birds, frolicked in the surf on our early morning jogs, she was so happy.

The owners have provided everything you need for a great stay. Zoe, maybe a few full size cookie sheets would be nice to have! :) Other than that, we found everything we needed.

This is the kind of place you plan to come back to with your family every year as a tradition. It's quirky, fun, relaxing, a place for everyone to just have a good time. We will most definitely be booking for next year...and longer this time, 2 nights wasn't near enough.

Thank you for sharing your home!
