This home is perfect for a quiet getaway if you just want to relax or for families who want to be surrounded by activities that are just a short drive away but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet. The property is well kept and the pictures are spot on. No surprises there! I would recommend this property to all who inquire. Beautiful well kept home and neighborhood!!!
We have vacationed at the Callahan beach house the last 2 years. The photos do not do the beach house justice. The house is immaculate so clean and homey. The first year we took some cleaning supplies to clean up before we used the house but we were so amazed at how clean the house was. Nothing needed to be done, we just needed to unpack and start our vacation fun. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood, it is very spacious but comfy and cozy (makes you feel at home). The kitchen is very well stocked and has stainless steel appliances. The bedrooms have comfortable beds. The entire house is decorated very nicely. The amenities include swimming pool, pavilion, tennis courts, horse shoes and exercise room located within walking distance of the house. I would highly recommend the Callahan beach house to anyone and will go back myself if we vacation in Fenwick Island, DE or Ocean City, MD area again.
My husband and I spent a week at this beautiful beach house. It was perfect-warmly decorated, extremely clean, a stocked kitchen with everything we needed, comfortable living spaces and bedrooms, and it allowed us to have the get away we were looking for. The neighborhood had a pool and work out facility and the people were extremely friendly. At times it was hard for us to get out to the beach because the house was so relaxing! Would highly recommend this beach house!
We stayed in this house over Memorial Day weekend 2012 and it was an amazing weekend. When I first walked in, my first thought was, the pictures didn't do this place justice. It was large and open but warm and cozy. It was immaculate and provided a lot of space for two families to share. The neighbors were welcoming and friendly. We spent more time than we planned to at the pool because it was so close to the house, so with small children it made it convenient to go back and forth. We spent time at both beaches because of the location being almost in between Ocean City and Bethany, which we liked a lot. We ate dinner most nights on the deck. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you need to prepare any meal. I would HIGHLY recommend this home, the owners have taken the time and effort to make it an extremely comfortable place to stay.
Our family of 7 has been vacationing here for the past four years, and every year we find it more difficult to leave when the week is over. The house is beautiful, clean, well-tended, homey, and located in a pristine community. From the "welcome to the beach house" poster in the laundry room (created by the owner's grandchildren, we learned) to the fully-stocked kitchen, to the comfy bedrooms, to the rocking chairs on the front porch, this house FEELS as comfortable as our own home.
We love taking walks through the quiet, friendly community. We love playing Bocce, frisbee, and bean bag toss in the huge front yard. Some of us love using the gym (I prefer reclining in a pool chair). And we love that the beach is just a couple mile drive down the road.
Perhaps we're not the most adventurous vacationers, but since the house, pool, and beach are so lovely, we usally focus on true relaxation. For us, a typical vacation day consists of drinking coffee in the front porch rocking chairs, spending the day at the beach, returning in the afternoon to sun ourselves at the pool, and closing the evening with a stroll through the community. We've also been known to enjoy a toast or two on the back deck and patio!
The home owners are easily accessible via phone, and because they care so much about their beach home, they treat you like vacationing royalty! We haven't wanted for a thing, and the few times we've had questions, the owners have responded immediately.
We couldn't be happier with our stay. . . this year and every year. Looking forward to our 2013 trip!
