House & Grounds: The Logis du Puy is set within 3/4 of an acre of beautiful grounds with olive and fruit trees, and many ornamental shrubs and flowers. there is a path from the house that takes you to Fayence or Tourrettes village in 3mins.
Both the main house and nearby cottage 10 metres away have benefited from extensive recent renovation to an extremely high standard, and offer truly comfortable accommodation for 8 to 10 people.
Swimming Pool area: The swimming pool, which is Solar and Heat Pump heated out of season, is surrounded by an extensive elevated decking area. The pool and adjacent sunbathing patio are not overlooked and provide total privacy, whilst the house and terraced gardens offer panoramic views over the surrounding countryside.
In 2009 the Sunset BAR was added at the far end of the swimming pool decking nestled between the cliff and a 300 year old Olive tree, fully equipped with fridge wine racks lighting and several stools, aptly named for the great sunsets.
BBQ area: A stunning feature of the Logis is the summer dining area, adjoining the house. Offering seating for 12 people around a hand-crafted Bourgogne stone table, and shaded by a 40-foot palm tree, a BBQ here is a fantastic way to relax in the glorious countryside.
This area also boasts a delightful covered seating area, for intimate evenings together, whatever the time of year.
We came to Fayence on holiday and left owning this very very special property, we think we are the luckiest people in the world and I think by the reviews our guest's have written they think the same.
Jez or Pam Barkley purchased this villa in 2001
We saw Logis du Puy and it was instantly love at first site, luckily we were the 3rd people to view the property and within a week we had bought it, checkout the reviews for everyone else's thoughts.
Old Stone Provence Character nestled in the hillside facing south with uninterrupted views across the valley to the Esterral Mountains, that and sitting by the pool watching the odd white cloud go by, what else could you want??? maybe that the property is very private but only a 3 minute walk to the Village via a private path, no need for a car although there is ample parking..
The property is very private not overlooked but only a 3 minute walk to the Village of Fayence and Tourrettes via a private path. The hilltop villages in this area are some of the most beautiful in Europe all with their own special character, Fayence dates back to the 12 century and is the king of them all.
I booked Logis du Puy for my 60th Birthday. We were a party of 8 (4 couples) and wanted somewhere to celebrate, visit the area but also relax. The villa is secluded with enviable views, great accommodation (the kitchen has every thing you need and more!) The pool and outside areas were a main attraction for us all, a great place to relax, enjoy a drink and watch the gliders overhead all in complete privacy.
We had intended to eat out in the village most evenings but could not drag ourselves away from dining outside under the magnificent palm tree, with the men cooking of course!!
The 3 minute walk to the village made ease of the early morning croissant run. The villa is well positioned - we visited Nice, Monaco, Antibes and St Tropez all within easy reach. The Gorges du Verdon is not to be missed - but next time will make the circular trip anti-clockwise! The Tortoise village is a must to visit if you own and love them as I do.
Pam was at the villa to welcome us on our arrival and always a call away with help and information if needed.
We would not hesitate to book again (and hopefully meet Jez next time) and definitely recommend the property to all, old or young. It was the ideal choice to celebrate my Birthday, and we all returned home with great memories and a love of Provence and Logis du Puy.
We stayed as a group of friends and had a brilliant time. Isabelle, who looks after the property, made us feel very welcome (helped by a surprise in the fridge from Pam!). The house has buckets of old world charm and a stunning view. Fayence and Tourette's are minutes away on foot, the lake is a few minutes in the car, the surrounding towns are beautiful and sleepy. Couldn't recommend the place or the owners (who were very helpful in the run up to our stay) more. Will definitely be returning in the future.
If you are looking for a location to spend a relaxed vacation where you can enjoy the tranquility of a quaint Provençal village, with easy access to the Gorges du Verdon and the hustle and bustle of the Côte d’Azur, your search is over. Logis du Puy, on the border of Fayence and Tourettes, is the perfect place to be swept away by the magnificent views of the Provence, while savoring the croissants you just bought on your 5 minute walk to the local boulangerie. You could also be indulging on a fabulous bottle of wine, fresh baguette and amazing olive tapenade from the local market, which is held thrice weekly on the church square in Fayence.
Jez and Pam have done an amazing job by turning a beautiful old Provençal stone house into the perfect place to enjoy the good life. My family and I stayed at Logis du Puy with 4 adults and 4 young children and could not have asked for a better vacation. The main house and adjoining cottage can easily accommodate 10 people. The property is superbly maintained with comfortable beds, multiple bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen. The outdoor seating and dining arrangements, including all the tasteful outdoor lighting, are endless. The pool and surrounding deck is the perfect place to cool down and a highlight for children of all ages. The house is not air-conditioned, which is not necessary due to the dry climate and cool nights.
We have nothing but the absolute best to say about Logis du Puy. If Jez and Pam's description of their property sounds appealing to you, search no longer. You will not be disappointed.
We have just had the most perfect week staying here. We were two families staying together with 4 young children and enjoyed every moment, we were so sad to leave. Our villa was like a home away from home, the kitchen was better stocked than mine at home! Every part of the property felt like it had been well thought out, from catching the first sun in the breakfast area to enjoying sun downers at the bar in the evening. We are usually pretty adventurous families and love to explore the local area but we found it hard to drag ourselves away from the pool with the most amazing view! Fayence and Tourettes have fab restaurants and are lovely places to wander around. Would highly recommend as one of the nicest villas we've ever stayed at and really hope we get a chance to go back again some day.
We were very fortunate to spend 10 nights at this house in Fayence.
Accomodation for six adults was very comfortable between the main house and adjoining cottage. The house and cottage were very tidy and facilities were excellent to enable self catering and cooking in the house and the outdoor BBQ area.
The location was excellent with the main village only a 5 minute walk with plenty of restaurants accessible. We also enjoyed the local markets that were held 3 times per week with fresh local produce such as meat, fruit, cheese as well as clothing items available.
Having a rental car we also enjoyed the location of the house that enabled us to complete several day trips to St Tropez, Monoco, Cannes and Saint Paul De Vence. Local wineries were also easily accessible by car which were very enjoyable.
We also particularly enjoyed the peace and quiet of the house and the outlook across the countryside was a treat each day. For those that wish to relax you will find this house very peaceful.
Overall the house was very clean and well maintained and having the pool during the warmer days was ideal.
We would highly recommend this house for a wonderful stay in the south of France. When we next travel to France from Australia we would have no hesitation in returning.
The chateau was ideally located within walking distance to two quaint towns. This enabled us to walk into Fayence and grab groceries daily, there's nothing like fresh croissant, bread and jam everyday. The local wine store hooked us up every night, the owner was very knowledgeable and taught us about the wines of Fayence and surrounding areas. Bistro 8 was fantastic, felt like we had our own private chef. Jez and Pam were very accommodating and had some great tips for restaurant and places to see.
Fayence is well equipped for either an active break, or a more restful stay. For those simply wishing to get away from it all, the nearest beach is a approximately 30 minutes distant.
The nearby lake of Lac de St. Cassien is a short drive away, offering all water sports. Besides swimming, the lake offers boat, canoe and sailboard rental. For the keen fisherman, the lake is well known for containing huge carp, pike and other predatory fish.
There is regular market that is held every Tue Thu and Sat in the village square.
The surrounding area also boasts several golf courses, equestrian facilities and vineyard trail walks.
Just south of Fayence is a major gliding centre, which was founded in 1935. It is considered to be the best within Europe, and gliders of all kinds are a frequent sight in the area.
