Unique, spacious and private property in commanding location with panoramic views southwest to the sea and island of Fuerteventura. A private drive leads to the villa set in 1/2 acre of mature gardens with a main heated swimming pool 13m x 7m, separate heated children's pool 2m diameter (heated throughout the year) and a spacious barbecue area.

Accommodation comprises entrance hall with interior glazed garden, huge kitchen, separate breakfast room with terrace, utility room with patio, TV room, satellite TV, DVD & video, main double bedroom with en suite bathroom and patio, leading to main terrace, second twin bedroom and en suite bathroom with private terrace, third twin bedroom with en suite shower room and private terrace, dining room seating 10 with indoor barbecue area, large lounge with bar overlooking main terraces. Interior decor is traditional with custom made furniture and antiques. The villa has been recently refurbished and offers a high quality of accommodation in a private and individual setting.

The satellite TV system is set up to receive English, German and Spanish stations.

For infants of 3 years and under, a cot is provided free of charge.

WIFI is available inside the villa and details of how to connect can be found at the villa on arrival.

There are two televisions, one in the TV room receiving UK, German and Spanish channels and one in the lounge with a DVD player.

Why Julia chose Puerto del Carmen - Tias

The villa was built in 1979 by the present owners to a very high specification. The design was by a renowned designer who worked with Cesar Manrique on a number of projects on the island. The house reflects many features of the island architecture.

There are, effectively three bedroom suites with private terraces offering a quiet corner with a different view at any time of the day. The furnishings in the villa were custom made in the local style of a very high quality and there are antique pieces.

There have been several refurbishments over the years, the latest in November 2011.

Although the villa is not specifically fitted for the disabled client, it was built for ease of access, all on one level and with wider doorways. It has proven to be user friendly for persons of restricted mobility.

It has been our third stay at La Cancela Verde Villa. Despite of already many comforts at the villa, every year it gets even more modernized / e.g. this year the owner added a great shower outside, adjacent to the main bedroom /.

The villa is very clean, spacious, colourful and in a quiet neighbourhood.

Everyone and in every age can find the right place and something suitable to do during those holidays.

From the very first email or phone contact with the owner Julia and Christopher, it was always impeccable, professional, quick, kind, but also right to the point. Susana, the manager, is the local person, taking very good care of the villa. She is very helpful, extremely pleasant and easy to communicate with. She always answers the phone and gives good advice or idea on every topic associated with the villa or the island. In case if she is needed at the villa, shows up right away. Thanks to Susana, the tourist at La Cancela Verde feels very secure and comfortable. I sincerely recommend this unusually welcoming and spacious possession, with beautiful views at the sea, mountains, gardens. Also a heated swimming pool and a lot of privacy. We have already reserved the time for our fourth stay at the villa, which speaks for itself : we are amazingly happy there !

Fabulous for families..

Just returned from Lanzarote with my family (6 of us) & can't praise this villa enough.. If you want a immaculately clean, very spacious & comfortable villa with a traditional feel, great location, amazing views, huge private pool then this is perfect.. & to top it all you get Susana the manager who is just wonderful, helpful, caring & all round lovely person.. The owner Julia was also great & lovely to speak to and made booking really easy.. I am very fussy about a lot of things but I can't fault La Cancella Verde.. I would recommend this to anyone.. Thank you to Julia for allowing us to rent this beautiful home & to Susana for everything..xx

Amazing property

What a spectacular villa,we cannot recommend it enough.The pictures do not do it justice.

The view of the mountains,ocean and Fuertoventura are breathtaking,from the minute you wake and look out of the bedroom window,to the glorious sunsets and we were lucky enough to witness the Sturgeon Moon from the little patio area just off the master bedroom,a perfect place for a nightcap at the end of the day.There are too many places and views within the villa to pick a favourite,you will just have to visit and choose your own.

A very special thank you to Susana and Julia for making us feel so welcome,they could not have done more to ensure we had a fantastic holiday.

Taxis pass between Carmen and Calero regularly for those who dont fancy the walk ,with shops within walking distance.We recommend the little butcher shop (Lanzarotemeat) beside the Spar (5 mins walk away).

The outdoor shower while gazing at the sun and stars was a particular highlight.

We have been to the Canary islands before but this was our first visit to Lanzarote and will surely not be our last.Carmen offers nightlife for all tastes,though we found it hard to stay away from the villa for too long.

We look forward to returning before too long.

Wundervollen Villa im spanischen Hazienda Stil

Wir waren zu zwei für 14 Tage in der wundervollen Villa im spanischen Hazienda Stil und haben uns sehr gut erholt und wohlgefühlt. Alles ist mit sehr viel Liebe im Detail eingerichtet. Großzügige Schlafzimmer und Wohnräume alles mit Bodenfliesen. Große Kleiderschränke mit Kleiderbügeln und Schubladen. Eine große Küche mit allem was man braucht: Gasherd, Backofen, Mikrowelle, großer Kühl-Gefrierschrank, Toaster, Kaffeemaschine, Spülmaschine usw. Im Nebenraum befindet sich eine Waschmaschine und Trockenmöglichkeit für die Wäsche auf Seilen. Es gibt einen sehr großen Außengrillplatz und noch einen Innengrill-Raum den man vom wundervollen Esszimmeraus betritt. Im Haus gibt es TV, Skybox und WLan kostenlos. DVD und Bücher gibt es im Wohnzimmer. Es gibt eine separate Gästetoilette, ein Bad mit Badewanne, ein Bad mit Dusche, eine Außendusche. Es befindet sich ein Safe für Wertsachen im Haus. Die Fenster haben Schnakengitter und unterschiedliche Öffnungsmöglichkeiten. Ein Mietwagen ist sinnvoll um die Umgebung zu erkunden, man kann ihn auf dem Grundstück überdacht abstellen, somit wird er auch nicht zu heiß im Sommer. Man fährt direkt vom Kreisverkehr auf einem Kieseinfahrt durch das grüne Grundstückstor. Die Hausmanagerin Susana ist ein wahrer Juwel und sehr liebenswert. Zur Begrüßung hat uns Susana Tee, Toast usw. hingestellt dass wir für das erste was haben, da wir sonntags angekommen sind. Susana hat uns alles gezeigt und ist eine jederzeit über Handy erreichbare Ansprechpartnerin bei Fragen und Sorgen und kommt schnell zur Villa wenn man es wünscht. Susana spricht Englisch und Spanisch und ist gerade dabei einige Worte Deutsch zu lernen. Das Haus ist super sauber. Es wird wöchentlich gereinigt, die Bettwäsche und ausreichende Handtücher ebenso wöchentlich gewechselt. Ein Gärtner kümmert sich um die wundervolle Terrasse und Pflanzen. Es gibt mehrere überdachte Terrassen zum Schutz vor der Sonne. Ebenso gibt es auch viele windgeschützte Sitzmöglichkeiten. Man hat einen herrlichen Meerblick von der Terrasse aus fast 180°. Es gibt 6 Sonnenliegen im Garten und mehrere Tische und Stühle zum Sitzen. Der Pool wird ebenso regelmäßig gereinigt. Der Pool ist nicht beheizt sondern mit einer Abdeckplane professionell abgedeckt, so dass die Sonne die Wassertemperatur anwärmt. Das Abdecken des Pools ist problemlos alleine oder zu zweit möglich in dem man die Abdeckplane rauszieht und aufrollt. Es gibt auch einen kleinen Kinderplanschpool. A most relaxing & enjoyable break.

Thouroughly enjoyed our stay at Cancela Verde, delightful property. Plenty of room for everybody, each room with its own private terrace. Our guests loved the villa, it's views and facilities and are looking forward to returning. They appreciated why we are frequent visitors to the villa and were impressed with Lanzarote, being their first visit.

Broadband was a bonus enabling us to keep in touch with our worldwide family and share the lovely facilities and views.

Enjoyed showering under the sun and stars!!!

The villa was spotless, everything we needed was provided.

Susana was gem very helpful and made sure the villa matched our expectations. The daily dip in the pool was very refreshing after a day in the hot sun.

A quiet oasis close to the main attractions and the wider places of interest in Lanzarote.

Beautiful, big house with charming pool and garden

Our stay in Lanzarote was very nice and pleasant.

The house is located well, not too far from the sea, a supermarket nearby.

The property is partioned broad, the rooms are furnished lovingly.

There are many places, where you can enjoy the beautiful garden, pool and the breathtaking view.

Althogehter we enjoyed our trip to Lanzarote and the house makes you miss nothing.

We´ll come back!

The villa is easily reached by the main trunk road from the airport - a journey of 20 minutes by car. The villa is in a rural location on the outskirts of the old village of Puerto del Carmen, mid-way along the southern coast of Lanzarote . Puerto del Carmen, the most established tourist centre on the island, is five minutes journey by car where can be found shops, restaurants and some of the main beaches on the island. The attractive yacht marina development of Puerto Calero is five minutes' drive to the west. The villa is located on a private development of three individual villas, all separated by substantial gardens and a traditional house nearby. The villa is in an elevated position, overlooking untended farmland commanding panoramic views of the sea, the islands of Lobos and Fuerteventura to the south-west and the mountains of Femes to the West. The south-westerly aspect offers clients sunshine from dawn to dusk on the ample terraces and armchair views of the splendid scenery.

  • The main bedroom, which has direct access to a covered terrace overlooking the main pool, has sliding screen doors to provide ventillation, glazed doors and shutters and a ceiling fan. The bed is an extra large double. The windows overlook the main pool and the view over the main terrace to the sea. There is ample wardrobe space. Tastefully furnished with items of local pottery as decoration. Access is on one level. The twin bedroom leading from the TV room has a private, covered terrace facing west to the mountains of Femes. Set within a small walled garden the terrace offers privacy and quiet and captures the setting sun as it dips below the mountain ridge. Access is by way of two steps from the TV lounge. The third twin bedroom is very spacious and has a small private terrace facing east to capture the morning sunshine. Access is on one level. All the bedrooms have shutters and screened windows for extra ventilation.

The villa was designed for ease of access and is wheelchair friendly. Each bedroom has its own private terrace and the villa offers plenty of quiet corners making it ideal for both families and groups of friends. The main pool is kidney shaped, 13 metres long and 7 metres wide with classical stepped entry from an astro turf area. The shallow end is 1.2 m deep and the deep end 1.60m deep. The childrens' pool is circular, 2m in diameter and 0.75m deep with stepped entry. Both pools are electrically heated from November to April inclusive and heated at other times by request at an extra payment. There is a giant marble chess board inset into the terrace. Pergolas surround the house offering shade and guests can dine on the main terrace, in the barbeque area, on the breakfast terrace or in the dining room which also has a built in barbeque area.
