We have a last minute sale!---The next 2 weekends--either February 3rd to the 5th or February 10th to the 12th---are on sale for only 800'---that's $200 off our regular winter weekend price! The slopes are still open, and we are only one mile from Big Boulder!
Are you a worrier who doesn't know what to expect when you open the door of your rental property? Our regulars look forward to finding what we added or upgraded each year!
We renovate and refurbish our houses regularly--recently in this house we added a wall mounted, 60' HDTV in the living room, along with plenty of other new furniture, kitchen supplies, and needed items! And we always have plenty of recent DVDs, both for kids and for adults.
This is a really well maintained home right in Lake Harmony--so you'll be close to Big Boulder, all the Lake Harmony restaurants, or you can cook out on the grill on the deck. In the right weather, the deck is a great place for morning coffee or an after dinner drink, too!
We also redid both bathrooms so they are updated, bright and clean--and we also put in a brand new kitchen (new cabinets, countertops, backsplash) with a new flat top stove (also easy to keep clean!) We pride ourselves in keeping our properties in great condition so you won't have to worry about any unpleasant surpises!
We rent by the weekend, full weeks, or for our lowest price, stay midweek! We DO NOT rent for a single night, unless you are willing to pay the 2-3 night rate. And we DO NOT rent to groups larger than our beds accommodate--this house holds maximum of 10 adults and 2 pre-teen children.
This large house is fully-equipped for your vacation needs. Six-person, covered, outdoor hot tub, large in-wall A/C unit to cool the entire upstairs (downstairs stays cool without A/C), 2 propane gas fireplaces (one upstairs in the living room, second one in family room on ground level) and two TVs with expanded cable and 30 digital music channels, free WiFi internet access (so bring your laptop), a large supply of DVDs, pool table, a full-size refrigerator on each floor (you can use the downstairs one to store all your refreshments and extra ice!), and a washer and dryer. There is an upstairs deck with furniture and a downstairs covered patio. Plenty of (brand new) windows in the living room/dining room, so it is always bright and airy. You don't have to worry about the weather - there's plenty to do at the house!
Lake Harmony has its own community beach, and we are very close (within 2 miles) of H2OOO, the indoor water park at Split Rock, 2 golf courses, and the Galeria (movie theater, shops). We have a large circular drive (no longer permitted, but we were grandfathered in, so you'll appreciate not having to keep moving everyone's cars to get out). We are close to the Lake Harmony restaurants, beach and food store. And Lake Harmony does not have the daily car or renters fees that some other developments charge, so renting here is quite a Poconos vacation deal! You also can easily travel to Camelbeach, The Outlets, Mohegan Sun Casino (at Pocono Downs), Jim Thorpe, white water rafting on the Lehigh River, even 2 state parks with hiking trails and more---all are within an easy 30 minute drive (or less). There is also horseback and bicycle riding (and rentals) in the area.
If you're just into a relaxing vacation---you can just hang out at the house. Have some quiet time on the deck with your coffee or cocktail, spend a lazy afternoon in the hot tub, play some pool, or just watch some DVDs.
Pets are permitted with an additional security deposit. We are family-friendly - don't make Sparky stay home! Late checkout is sometimes available, especially on weekend rentals (but usually not in the summer). Sorry, no young groups, no proms, no high school graduation parties without adults staying, too.
All of our houses are set up so your party will not be 'squeezed in'. However, we only allow up to 10 adults or a family of 12---not 12 adults. We have a large dining room table that easily seats 8, with an additional side table for 4 nearby. You'll find many homes have only counter space for eating, since the dining room is being used for extra sofa beds or a pool table. We have seen houses that sleep 20 but only have 4 or 5 bedrooms and a table for 4. We don't look for the type of group that would be comfortable in that situation--we prefer families, 'grown-ups', and groups or couples that often can't get away because they need some one to watch their pet.
We have an optional $100 cleaning fee. If you leave the house as clean as you received it, we do not charge you for cleaning. Hardly anyone has this money saving offer--all the realtors will automatically charge you for cleaning (and that's in addition to other fees).
Although you can get an instant price quote through the website, please be aware that VRBO automatically adds a service charge of 7% to 9% if you pay through the website, but if you pay us directly, there is no service fee unless you use Paypal, which charges 3%. Just email us and we will verify the rental cost and give you directions on how to proceed. Doing it this way saves you a decent amount of money (just like giving you the cleaning option), and the final payment for your rental is not due until check in!
Since we are usually in the area, we also check the house ourselves and make sure everything is in working order, and we're available if anything needs repairing or if you need assistance figuring out how to work something!
And also, we have a hot tub maintenance business for other rental property owners who do not live nearby---so you know our hot tub is always clean and in good operating condition!

We stayed here for a two night stay and had a great time. We coincidentally planned our trip when Hurricane Joaquin was also planning his... however the hurricane headed east and we were hopeful for some sunshine! We did get a lot of it too! It was great weather and we enjoyed walking down by the lake. It was my first trip to Lake Harmony so I wasn't aware of the somewhat hard to find locations by the water. We were able to find some public areas, however, and enjoyed sitting on the water.
We really enjoyed the hottub, and there was plenty of space in the house for everyone. We had 8 people total, and enjoyed many meals at the large dining table. We also brought our small dog, and were thankful that there were no issues with renting with a pet!
I liked the movie selection, and the couch was nice and big. We opted to clean ourselves and save $100, and it didn't take all that long- as long as you kept it clean as you went! The kitchen had a large supply of pots, pans, utensils, sheet pans, etc. We found the kitchen to be very suitable to our needs.
There are small convenience stores very close by. Overall it was a great escape and fit our budget and our wishes perfectly.
My family and I truly enjoyed a beautiful fall weekend in the Poconos. This is the perfect house for any family looking to have a great getaway in the mountains. Beautiful location and scenery, home cozy and comfortable with all the amenities, superbly well-kept and clean. We were able to enjoy beautiful days and crisp cool evenings... and even a few snowflakes on Sunday morning. A huge plus that we were able to bring our two little dogs with us who were exhausted but exhilarated with our long walks and seeing deer and wild turkey. Michael was there to greet us and show us around the house. This is our second time renting this home and we definitely look forward to coming back again - it just keeps getting better !!!
We had an extended weekend for a family gathering---6 adults, 2 children and a dog. The house was perfect! We have stayed at this owner's lakefront properties before, but they were all booked so we tried out this house and were very happy. There is a large HDTV upstairs with plenty of DVDs, which kept the kids busy, and there is a second refrigerator and kitchen next to the pool table area, so we were able to keep all of our sodas and beer cold without cramming the regular refrigerator. We used the pool table and hot tub non-stop during our stay, too, and it really helped that the hot tub is covered overhead, because we had a rainy day but were able to stay in it anyway. The beds and furniture were in good condition, and the bathrooms were very obviously redone and were very nice and clean. The house in is an area that has a lot of local restaurants, most reasonably priced, but there is only one food store really close, and it is just a 7/11 type place, so you should bring your food or make a trip to the town nearby for any major food purchases--but we didn't find that to be much of a problem. There are a lot of deer, and you will see them every day, and they will come closer if you throw them any food. We got lots of great deer pictures, and our dog is even in one! We had a great time, the owner Michael was very easy to work with, and we will now not be so picky about being lakefront--this house was very roomy and well kept. Thanks, everyone said they loved it!
4stars for the house, 4stars for the owner.
FIRST, THE HOUSE
Great: Roomy and the prices (at least in 2012) were great for the space. Living rm and dining rm are wonderful, roomy, with a good view. Plenty of seating in the dining rm(12). Good couches, good AC, good kitchen.
Good: TVs upstairs and downstairs are CRT units w/basic cable. Hot tub is good. (Maybe great? I don’t spend enough time in hot tubs to know the difference.)
Average: 2 bedrooms upstairs with queen beds. 3 bedrooms downstairs, 2 with queen beds and one with bunk beds. Our bed (in basement) dipped some toward the center. It was average – not super comfortable but not uncomfortable either. Linens were not included, but we knew that up front so no complaint. The pool table shows age, but works fine. I have no complaints about the pool table, but I could see an aficionado being disappointed.
Bad: Basement had noticeable musty smell when we arrived. We aired it out and that helped. (Wife said it never went away.) Local grocery stores – overpriced and poor quality control. If you’re cooking, I recommend bringing what you can or making a long trek to Mount Pocono a half-hour away.
SECOND, THE OWNER.
We stayed from Mon-Fri and had no hot water from Monday to Thursday. Day before we checked in, Michael (the owner) called to let us know about it & gave us a chance to back out or accept a discount. He indicated the worst case would be a Tuesday repair. We were already packed and it would only be one day, so we agreed to accept a free cleaning and checked in the next day. (Better than canceling our vacation or searching for a last-minute opening elsewhere.) Each day the repair was supposed to be done ‘the next day’, so we stayed and accepted discounts for the inconvenience on no hot water. He also arranged for us to shower twice at another house (inconvenient - esp w/kids). There was a disagreement about what fair compensation was for the last day, but we agreed to split the difference. 4 stars because I think we requested reasonable compensation for the last day. But I know Michael was acting in good faith. In the midst of a disagreement we reached a compromise where both sides walked away satisfied. If we’d known it would be all week, probably wouldn’t have gone in the first place, but it worked out okay.
Extra endorsement for Michael: we forgot towels. Mid-week, when the owner brought the key for the house where we could shower, he also brought over some bath towels.
Our group was 10 adults for thanksgiving and we were very comfortable-- there were enough pots/pans , plates and glasses. The house is nicely decorated and doesn't feel out of date with furniture, etc. We used the hot tub many times and it was really nice. We had a faucet leak but landlord came to fix it within the half hour. Saw lots of deer. House is about a 5 minute walk to the lake. Deck is nice for BBQing and deer watching.
The only music speakers for upstairs is through the TV, but it has cable music stations so if you like that its fine.
Beds are quite variable, some are firm and some are really really soft.
This place was perfect for our group. We had 6 adults and 3 kids. The upper and lower living rooms were perfect so we could watch separate shows and not disturb people who wanted quiet time. The hot tub was just fabulous in the cool evening. We had no problems with the house and the owners were great to deal with.
Large corner lot at Estates Drive and Spring Street. Driveway access from both streets--plenty of parking.
