About The Owner

Family of 5 who love northern Michigan!

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2004

Why The Owner chose Michigan

a perfect setting off the track, but close to anything 'upnorth', large property with a 'buy me, you won't be dissappointed' message.

What makes this cottage unique

Nature wonderland; frogs, beavers, fox, eagles, sounds of howling (coyotes...wolves?) fish. hammock snoozes, completed books, campfires, smores, more fish, flowers, peace, 'on golden pond 'ambiance, cozy comfort everywhere, wood on floors and walls is serene

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your cabin is such a lovely place in all ways.

I was completely stressed out when we arrived and completely blissful when we left.

It was just right for my father and son too, who shared the upstairs bedroom.

I loved the dishware in the kitchen and all the green, yellow and orange glass accents. So pretty.

I left a comment. Hope it encourages others to stay at your place.

This is a beautiful cottage with all the amenities of home. It was such a relaxing atmosphere for early morning coffee on the deck, afternoon float on the kayak and evening by the fire. Would highly recommend.

Lily Pad - a dream cottage!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to Michigan and staying at the Lily Pad made that visit even more enjoyable because it is a well-laid out, charming cottage with a wonderful deck over-looking Lake Lancaster. Matt and Lesley are very responsive and helpful, the cottage is clean and well-kept, and we will definitely recommend The Lily Pad to anyone wanting a relaxing, rather picture-perfect setting on the lake. Great cottage!!

Wonderfully cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our stay here was wonderful! The cabin has charming decorations, a beautiful view and plenty of privacy. The only thing missing is reliable wifi and phone service, otherwise there was nothing else I could have asked for.

Peaceful and relaxing. Close to everyting in the northern lower peninsula.

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful view of the lake, used the 12' aluminum boat, but fished off the dock and caught a couple bluegill. The quiet mornings and evenings we listened to the loons call across the lake. The kitchen cooking utinsels and serving-ware were well stocked. The bed was comfortable and we slept in most days. Within a 20 minute drive to Cross village, Cheboygen or Mackinaw when we didn't feel like cooking. A great grocery store, farm market, and fishing supplies within a 15 minute drive. Comfortable chairs and loungers on the deck provided for a relaxing view of the lake to ponder the more important things in life. A large fire pit and good supply of wood helped us to celebrate our last evening at the lily pad. I would recommend the Lily Pad for those who want to relax and recharge.
