La Porche, a farm cottage converted into a well-equipped modern house (sleeps 5 people).

The house has all modern conveniences, whilst retaining the character of granite stone & rough timber beams.

It has its own kitchen, living room, scullery, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, terrace & swimming pool.

The property is located on a quiet country road with a peaceful view over farmland & chestnut trees.

La Porche has a 8 x 3 metre swimming pool.

There is ample parking on the property.

Broadband Wi-Fi is available but please bring your own devices.

Guests are welcome to explore the farm to their hearts´ content.

My jolly & extremely capable manager, Sylvie, lives locally and is available for assistance.

We are in the southern Cevennes, an area characterised by an amazing diversity of landscapes and an unspoilt rural and wilderness environment. Go east, west, north or south and you will find yourself in completely different surroundings, of which the common features are wild natural beauty combined with the human interest of tiny villages and remote farms. We are on the edge of the Cevennes National Park, designated by UNESCO as a world heritage biosphere reserve. You can walk mountain paths where you will meet no-one, cycle on a vast network of virtually traffic-free roads, take your pick of an infinity of splendid picnic sites, swim in pristine rivers. All this you can enjoy from our base only 7km from the lively market town of Le Vigan, and an hour's drive from the buzzing metropolis of Montpellier.

Wonderful week in a caringly renovated old farm

We spent a wonderful week in this caringly renovated old farm house, located slightly elevated in a nearly unreal idyllic environment. Around us only horse pasture, forrest, and nature, far away from all hustle and bustle. In the night we heard wild boars chewing chestnuts down at the wayside, therefore the fence around the pool ;-) which was deliciously refreshing. We have chosen the house because it was just a bit different from standard (old masonry, no „chi-chi“) and for us it was perfect – we had all the amenities that we needed. The bedroom is magnificent, the kitchen and the small terrasse with a splendid view are very cozy. Our dog also had a lot of fun on the large premise. With pleasure again at another time.

The description was accurate, the property clean and well maintained, the owner provided good customer service, and I would recommend this property to friends or relatives. Good hikes, gorgious old villages, lively market in Ganges, excellent restaurant in Brissac.
