Light-filled home in Capitol Hill's vibrant and safe Eastern Market neighborhood -- rated one of America's 10 most walkable communities!
New in 2003, our place has everything you need to enjoy your visit to DC. Ideal for a couple or family, with Aerobeds available upon request. We take care of the details so you don't feel nickel-dimed -- and can enjoy a hassle-free stay.
Best of all, our central location means no fighting Washington’s traffic snarls, or paying top dollar for parking -- or parking tickets! Nearby: everything you'd want to see in DC:
The US Capitol, Supreme Court and Library of Congress are a 10-minute stroll away.
Head 4 blocks north, through our neighborhood of historic rowhouses, to get to Metro's Eastern Market station, on the direct route to top destinations -- the Smithsonian, the White House, the Washington Convention Center, the new American Indian museum, the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, Ford's Theatre, the International Spy Museum and more are a 10-minute ride away. Or stay on the subway for a bit longer to get to the National Zoo, Arlington National Cemetery, and the Kennedy Center.
To our east is Barracks Row, home to the President's Own (Marine Corps Band) and the Marine Commandant, and a restaurant row for nightlife. And to our south are the Washington Nationals' new stadium, the Navy Yard, and the new Transportation Department HQ.
On the way back home, stop at Eastern Market's produce, meat, dairy and flower stalls -- or pop into one of Barracks Row's cafes, bars or restaurants. Several grocery/drug/liquor stores are within walking/driving distance.
Owners are long-time DC residents and neighbors who are happy to answer questions and share tips for visitors.

We are a family of 4, two adults and a 15 year old and 12 year old. Accommodations were great for us, parents in the master bedroom, futon and fold down couch in the living room area for the kids. Very clean. Grocery store is less than a 10 minute walk, Eastern Market subway stop about 5 minutes. Most of our destinations (Capital Mall, Smithsonians, etc.) were 3-5 stops away and subway frequency is quite often - don't think we ever waited more than 8 minutes. Stayed cool during our visit in June-July. Has DishTV and wi-fi. Deborah, the owner, was very responsive to our needs and was an excellent source for advice on all things DC and her responses to texts were very timely. The Metro Subway system is undergoing improvements and she was great at giving us alternatives to getting around. I would recommend this place to friends. Also, 8th Street has a lot of nice shops/restaurants.
We had a great visit here! It is really unusual to find a king-sized bed in a small apartment, but we really appreciated it. Nice living area and very convenient to our daughter (best part). Can't say enough about how easy it is to park the car (or have a spot for our son's car visiting us from another part of the city) to walk to the wonderful restaurants on 8th Street. Though the parking was so convenient, we used the bag-buggy to walk to the Harris Teeter nearby because the weather was so nice. And we walked to the Nationals' baseball game as well. Fabulous location!
I just loved the neighborhood! So close to great restaurants and the Eastern Market. Clean and comfortable accommodations. Will recommend this property to my friends.
We had a wonderful stay and this townhome had everything we needed. Even though we had a car, we walked or used metro for all the major attractions within the city. It was clean and a functioning washer/dryer was very useful. If we had any queries Deborah answered them promptly.
Thanks Deborah for making our vacation great.
My wife and I, along with our two daughters (11 and 13) stayed for a week. I worked in the mornings at the Washington Navy Yard and the rest of the time was spent sight seeing. Because of the location we were able to leave the car parked for the week. I walked to the Navy Yard daily and we all walked up to the Metro and easily got around.
The apartment had enough room and everything we needed and more for a great stay. The neighborhood is beautiful and surrounded by everything you need from stores to restaurants. Not to mention the history of the area. We took several walks just in the area to take it all in. I can't say enough, we loved our stay!
Deborah's townhouse is close to all the attractions - The Market, Capitol Hill & Smithsonians (about a half hour walk to the White House if you're up to it). It's a great neighborhood of beautiful homes- very safe. The apartment is well equipped with everything you could ask for. I'd give it 5 out of 5!
Capitol Hill -- near Eastern Market. The Navy Yard, US Capitol, Supreme Court, Library of Congress and new Nationals stadium are a short stroll away. Metro's blue/orange line is even closer -- and a direct link to the Smithsonian, the White House, the Washington Convention Center, the new American Indian museum, the FDR and Jefferson Memorials, Ford's Theatre, the International Spy Museum and more.
On the way back home, stop at Eastern Market's farmers' stalls, relax at Barracks Row's cafes, bars or restaurants, or run errands at several nearby grocery/drug/liquor stores -- all within walking/driving distance.
