NOTE: If less than the minimum nights (3 in peak season) are available between other bookings I can usually reserve two nights for you if you call or email me. The system will not allow online booking for less than the minimum.

With views and rock outcroppings all around, the cabin is located one mile west of downtown Estes Park and approximately two miles east of Rocky Mountain National Park.

This non-smoking log cabin has a warm knotty pine interior and is spotless, with lots of character. The wood-burning fireplace is the focal point of the living room, adding a cozy touch on those chilly evenings. Enjoy a good night's sleep on our quality mattresses in the two bedrooms, each with a dresser and closet.

The kitchen is inviting with lots of windows - and great for enjoying the many mule deer and elk that often wander through the area, as well as the birds that come to our feeders. Cabinets are thoroughly stocked for your convenience. The bathroom has a large shower. We also have a picnic table and barbecue grill in the back yard. The south-facing deck is a perfect spot to relax with a cup of your favorite beverage.

Our guests have commented 'Comfortable and inviting, it is the nicest cabin we have been in,' and 'This was by far the most comfortable and homey cabin we've ever stayed at in Estes Park.'

The Shawnee

  • 5 of 5

This was the nicest little cabin I've ever stayed in. Situated only a few miles from the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park it is perfect for a family of 4 visiting the National park or the town of Estes Park. We were very impressed. The owner Sue was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. The cabin was very neat, clean, and cozy. It had everything you would need to fix a meal and then relax on the porch and watch the elk roam through fields. I would definitely stay hear again. And VRBO made the whole process of securing the accommodations easy.

Perfect little get away!

  • 5 of 5

Love this little cabin, it's perfect for couples, or a small family retreat. With easy access to town and lots of local attractions you can't go wrong. Plus they've provided everything you need to stay in and be cozy by the fire too! We even had the pleasure of seeing lots of wildlife right outside the windows - lots of deer came into the back yard and even came right up to us to say hi! The accommodations and recommendations for the area are great - they've really thought of everything!!! :)

Estes Park Wildlife Haven

  • 5 of 5

Charming little cabin, close to town, great owner communication, nicely appointed, good sized for a couple. Wild turkeys, deer, elk came daily. Decent bedding, big big fireplace, the real rocky mountain experience. Could use a small coffee table thats all. Thank you.

Cozy and quiet cabin stay!

  • 5 of 5

Wow...we were impressed at how quickly the owners responded to questions and the detailed notes in the cabin about the surrounding area! The cabin is cozy and quaint...we absolutely loved all the windows in the kitchen and breakfast area! We heard elk bugling nearby two nights and the Elk Festival was fun and informative. We also slept more soundly than we have in a long time...comfortable queen bed. We will be back! Thank you!

Filthy, overpriced and outdated

  • 1 of 5

We found the accommodations unacceptable, one of the beds was filthy with hair, dirt and grime on the sheets and pillow cases. The cabin is extremely small and old with the bathroom more like an outhouse. The owner was very accommodating and responsive to problems and the cabin is conveniently located in Estes Park. That being said, the property is extremely overpriced for what it is (as is everything in Estes Park); we have had gorgeous condos from VRBO on Beaches in Hawaii and San Diego for the same or lower costs.

Owner's Response: We are so sorry the Shawnee cabin didn't live up to your expectations. Estes Park does command a higher rental rate because it’s such a great place to stay!! We are priced appropriately for a resort town in high season. Our listing states correctly that our vintage cabin was built in 1928, and it is cozy inside, with 650 square feet. We do have accurate photos online. Our cleaners have done an excellent job for us and I get great comments- we apologize if you were let down. We take steps to insure the cleaning service lives up to our high standards. After you texted me, I sent the cleaner right over to put new sheets on and she changed both sets. Not hearing back from you after that, we assumed everything was to your satisfaction. A guest's feedback and review is always welcome. Thank you for taking the time to write and calling this to our attention and for acknowledging that we were responsive and accommodating. We pride ourselves on being available 24/7.
