A great find!!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great holiday and the apartment was a great retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Great public transport links nearby so didn't rent a car . Nicole is a wonderful host and has the most amazing, characterful apartment. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Nice. Amazing views too!!

Wonderful stay in Nice.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I spend a week in this beautiful apartment. The picture doesn't do justice to the view of the Mediterranean and the Nice port. Nicole and her husband were very nice and helpful in setting us up. The apartment is nicely equipped for your stay. The apartment is on three bus lines making it a quick ride into Nice center or for a day trip to Monaco. Nice also has an excellent light-rail (tram) system that you can either take a bus or walk to. I would recommend getting a 7-day pass if you are in town for a few days. It works on the tram and buses. Of course, you are easy walking distance to the Port or Nice center.

Great apartment with a magnificent view

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely two weeks' holiday in this great apartment. An easy walk to the harbour, Promenade des Anglais and the Flower Market. The apartment has everything one can hope, it is beautifully furnished with a very homely feeling. Would love to return...

There it was....

... That amazing panoramic view of the Mediterranean that we left last year. This was our second stay at Nicole's apartment. It was as wonderful as the first time a year ago. The apartment is ideally located to the port and the quieter Coco Beach. A quick walk and you are in Old Nice with the antique, flower and vegetable markets, the Promenade and many beaches. We rented a car for several days and did day trips travelling to Sanremo, Italy to the east and down to Cannes to the west, among other places. We loved Antibes with its manageable hustle and bustle, and enjoyed people and car watching in Monaco. However, nothing beat the apartment terrace and watching the yachts, ferries and other boats coming into port with our market purchases - cheeses, olives, sausage and a glass of wine. Perfection!

Many thanks to Nicole and Jean-Luc for sharing their beautiful apartment with us!

A Lovely Stay

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful flat! My husband and I stayed here for one week of our 3 week honeymoon to Europe. Beautiful view! The photos don't do it justice. Such a great location too if you like to walk and explore. It would take us about 5-10 minutes to walk to restaurants and the grocery store. Having our own kitchen was key here as we could make our own meals and eat on the patio, taking in the view and the beautiful weather.

Nicole and Jean Luc were gracious hosts. I had my luggage stolen off the train earlier that day and they were so kind. They went out of their way to drive us to the best place for me to shop to replace my clothing that was stolen. They also showed us the best places to eat and shop along the way. Their kindness was so heartfelt and our stay here wouldn't have been as good without their genuine generosity. They are truly wonderful and we would be thrilled to stay at their lovely place again.

One thing I would mention is the bedroom is on a busy street, so I would advise earplugs. We stayed in Paris, Nice and a few cities in Ireland throughout out trip and I always found that I slept better with earplugs anyways.

This was our favourite home away from home for our entire trip! Thank you so much!

An oasis of calm

  • 5 of 5

This a spacious, very well-equipped and well-furnished apartment which is located about ten minutes walk from the Port but this tells only part of the story...

The big thing about this apartment is the view. It is breathtaking. On your right, you can see the chateau and the hills to the west. On your left is the Cap de Nice and the eclectic mix of new apartments and old villas that make this area a sought-after residential quarter of Nice. In front is the deep blue Mediterranean. Because the balcony faces South/South West, you have until about 11am to eat your breakfast in the shade and, in the evening, the sunsets are a wonderful backdrop to having a few glasses of wine outside.

If your experience of Nice is the Old Town, then this is a complete contrast. It's quiet (some noise from the road outside but not that bad) and only a short walk to the beaches to the East of the Port, where the sea is calmer than the beaches off the Promenade des Anglais.

Although it's quiet, it's not isolated. There is a large Intermarche and a terrific boulangerie Lagache ten minutes walk away. The restaurants in the streets behind the Port are less touristy than those in the Old Town or the pedestrian areas of the New Town. There is a bus stop more or less outside the flat from where you can get to Villefranche, Bealulieu, Cap Ferrat, Monaco, Roquebrunne and Menton without having to go into Nice centre, all for 1.50 euro. If you fancy a perched village and don't want to join the coach parties in Eze, we can recommend getting off the 100 bus at Roquebrunne (1st or 2nd Escalier) and walking up to the medieval village where there are many fewer people, decent restaurants and an old castle with views over to Monte Carlo. If you're still feeling fit, it's a nice walk downhill to the Sentier Corbusier, a path which hugs the coast until Menton, about an hour away.

It's about a 20 minute walk to the Old Town, where there are all the bars and restaurants you'll ever need but because we were so content in the flat, we found that we didn't go there all that often.

Nicole and her husband met us and, because they live in the flat over the winter, they know all there is to know about where to go in Nice and beyond. They were very welcoming and helpful and we were very sad to leave!

All in all, a wonderful place to relax and highly recommended.
