About Bridgett Gill
Myself (Bridgett Gill) and my partner (Brendan Wheatley) are in our sixties and involved in the world of opera. We run Swansea City Opera, a mid scale opera company which tours all over the UK, and a registered charity. The history, culture and love of music of the Hungarian people were a great influencing factor in our decision to buy a classical apartment in Budapest. We were looking for an investment for our retirement and had planned to visit three countries before making our choice, but after seeing the beauty of Budapest and finding the Hungarian people so friendly and welcoming, we decided to look no further. We hope you love the city us much as we do!

Why we chose this location: Because we live in a very old cottage in Wales and love historic houses, we were looking for a building and apartment that had history and original features. We think we have found the perfect apartment and have completely renovated and restored it with a lot of love and thought. The rooms have beautiful oak floors and magnificent, high ceilings with period lights. Original pictures and limited edition prints decorate the walls. If you love architecture and history this apartment is a perfect choice.
What makes this Apartment unique
As well as being in a beautiful building, the apartment is close to all forms of public transport, and central to all the tourist attractions and the Opera House. There is a supermarket directly opposite the house and In addition, because we love good food and wine, we chose a location with good restaurants and cafes close by! By the way I can heartily recommend Hungarian wine, not a lot of it is sold abroad as they keep most of it for themselves!

Bridgette's property is beautiful, clean and very enjoyable. We shared it with another couple and it's very roomy. Could not be located in a better spot, there's a neighborhood coffee shop, bar and a great variety of restaurants just around the corner. Thank you for making our stay to memorable!!
Location, location, location
Bridgett's apartment was walking distance to everything. Atilla, her driver, was always helpful. A good choice for a stay in Budapest.
Fantastic location, nice neighbourhood
The accommodation is situated within a courtyard off the street, and is very quiet, and ensures a good nights sleeps after a busy day sightseeing, it offers a well equipped kitchen, and has everything you need for a city-break stay. The Bathrooms are modern, with nice fluffy towels!
The location is excellent and we walked everywhere, taking in Buda, Pest, St Margaret’s Island, and a boat trip to the lovely town of Szentendre.
The small supermarket opposite the apartment is very convenient, and Attila the taxi driver is fantastic! We can recommend the Hungarikum Bizstro (5 mins walk and you definitely need to book a couple of weeks ahead) and a nice lunch near Heroes Square is ‘Paprika’ which again was so busy, glad we telephoned a week before to book.
Thank you to the owner for the prompt and efficient responses we had when we made our booking . We would definitely recommend this apartment to those seeking a quiet location in a beautiful city.
A welcoming home away from home
Right from our original contact about this lovely apartment the experience has been very professional and friendly. The location is fabulous and so close to many of Budapest's points of interest and restaurants. We discovered the Borze restaurant 200 meters north along Nador Utcs fom the apartment, and highly recommend it to fellow travellers.

Location location location
The property is absolutely ideal for exploring all the major sites of Budapest. It is exactly as described and a very comfortable and clean apartment. We had all the kitchen appliances and equipment that we needed. The apartment is a short walk from st Stephens Baacilica, the chain bridge, the synagogue and St Margaret island (which is must visit) there is also a supermarket directly across the road, although we walked about 3 blocks to an Aldi that suited us better. Attila the Taxi driver is indeed very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this property for this great city. Kay.
Can't get much better!
The location was perfect for exploring the lovely city of Budapest. The inner courtyard was cooler and very quiet. Shopping and eating in the neighbourhood was so convenient and exciting.

The apartment is in the perfect location, near the Basilica in the prestigious District 5. All the top tourist attractions are within an easy 10 min walking distance, including the Opera House, Parliament, National Art Museum, Castle District and the funicular railway, the Famous Chain Bridge and the Vaci Utca shopping street. It is also close to a supermarket and a covered market where you can by excellent fresh produce. It is also, very importantly, only 2 mins walk from some very good bars and restaurants; the Hungarians have some really excellent wine and food! The nearest metro station is 5 mins walk away, and bus and tram stops are 2 mins away. The apartment is also close to the street which houses all the prime antique shops specialising in Biedermeier and Art Deco furniture. Budapest is regaining its former glory, there is street after street of fabulous architecture, many buildings are fully renovated and many still have their rather shabby-chique charm.
