Enjoy spectacular views from the air-conditioned comfort of our private 2 bedroom ocean front villa at Ten Bay Beach. Frommers 2007 guide ranks Ten Bay Beach as the number 1 beach in the Bahamas and Eleuthera. A Los Angeles Times article published in January, 2003 said about Bahama Villa: 'Ten Bay rates a 10-plus... a getaway straight out of central casting.'
Our home in Eleuthera has something for everyone: snorkelling, swimming, sunbathing, beach combing, boating, DVD library, complete kitchen, private cove and tiki hut, central AC, outdoor BBQ, hammock and porch furniture. Bahama Villa has amenities usually reserved for more expensive homes... all starting at only USD $1,195 per week for 2 people. Eleuthera features fantastic diving and snorkelling starting right at the Villa, caves, historic sights, and especially the beaches! With over 200 miles of coastline, this family island home will provide a positive vacation experience you'll remember for years to come.

This is our personal vacation home. We update and improve every trip we make.
Emmy And Robert Buckman purchased this villa in 2007
It's perfect location. It is on a promontory=great breezes on our large deck, amazing sunsets and sun rises.floor to ceiling sliding glass doors make you feel like you are on a large yacht. this house is better than being on a boat. We use it ourselves as often as possible ie this home is nicely appointed
BEST BEACH IN ELEUTHERA ESPECIALLY FOR KIDS. You do not need a mask to see the fish.....
The views, the privacy!!!! central ac, the vegetation, THE DOCK!!!!The extemely low tides and very wide beaches at low tide. Shade on the beach from the trees Breath taking views. Best location in Ten Bay.
Exceeded all my expectations. As nice as the pictures are on the Web, they still don't do justice to how beautiful the property and surrounding area is. The house is kept in impeccable condition and you can spend the a whole week without leaving the bay. Fishing, sun, snorkeling, amazing sunsets, nearby supplies . . . the place has it all! - Peter I., NYC USA
There are no words to describe how wonderful our stay was at Bahama Villa. A lot of tender loving care went into making this villa a most comfortable, inviting, and relaxing place to stay for any length of time! The house, the views, the patio, the deck, the sand bars, low tide, high tide, the snorkeling, the king bed, the privacy, etc. all added up to a great getaway! - Deborah Zuczek, PA USA
Bahama Villa is located on my favorite beach in Eleuthera. Ten Bay beach has it all, a 1/2 mile pink sand beach, and a calm bay that is great for taking a dip or snorkeling. The house is elevated, and we enjoyed a constant breeze the whole week. The house needs a few updates ( better screens in the kitchen, and easier access to the water from the property), but overall is in good condition, and is quite comfortable for a couple. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to have a laid back vacation in Eleuthera.

It truly is the most fantastic place to be to have a memorable vacation. My husband and I have been to 10 different Caribbean Islands and Eleuthera, primarily Ten Bay beach has made it to #1 on our list. BahamaVilla is incredible and here is why. It is very easily accessed. The dirt road you take off of Queens Highway is well maintained and the driveway to the house as well. (You do not need a 4 wheel drive to get here) The central location of the house makes it very convenient. It is just a short drive, about 25 minutes, to Governor’s Harbour Airport. Even closer for the market & liquor store & dining. AND the house itself is amazing!
We arrived on a Wednesday and had Arthur (manager) pick us up and stop at market & liquor stores on way to Villa. Which he was so glad to help. Then we had him taxi us to dinner on Thursday night. After that we felt we knew the lay of the land well enough to attempt the left hand driving ourselves so he delivered us a car Friday. We drove to the south end one day and the north end another day sightseeing but never found a place we enjoyed more than being in our private little cove at BahamaVilla. My husband and I felt so relaxed here. All we needed was provided at the house, a working kitchen and a hot shower! I do recommend you bring 2 things, a waterproof camera for videoing all the sea life and a pair of binoculars, so much to see.
We were there 10 days and each day we were fascinated by the marine life and the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. We kayaked and walked the beach which are both doable whether high or low tide. We saw tons of sand dollars and starfish. We even saw stingrays and a nurse shark. We slept with the bedroom door open and fell asleep with the wonderful breeze and sound of fish jumping. We awoke to that gorgeous turquoise water each morning and the pelicans dive bombing for fish! We woke up at 4 am one morning and sat on the deck. We were in awe of all the stars you can see. Very romantic this place!
I encourage you to stay as long as you can and plan to spend the majority of your time at BahamaVilla. Enjoy the views, the outdoor shower, the kayak, eat breakfast on the deck, stargaze at night and rest in the solitude. It’s all good and it was a perfect vacation.
Thank you Emmy for sharing it with us. Our search may be over.
Ten Bay is our favorite beach on Eleuthera so far. It's perfect for our 6-year-old who is still learning to swim. The waters are normally so calm it's like a giant swimming pool, with the shallow flats extending out hundreds of feet from the beach Even when choppy they're still easy for young kids. The porch overlooking the bay is to die for. Brunched every morning here watching giant eagle rays, lemon sharks and needle fish though the clear turquoise waters. Then kayak off the pier over to the beach for a swim. Perfection.
We absolutely loved the home, the water, and the views. My husband did not even need to go to the docks to purchase fish for dinner, he caught 2 large Nassau grouper and a snapper right off the side of the back porch. I do recommend being adventurous and explore all the side "dirt roads". You will be rewarded with a spectacular, secluded, pink sand beach at the end of each and every one. The key word is "adventurous"! My husbands family came from Tarpum Bay, Eleuthera and we were able to make several contacts with long lost relatives on the island!
This is my second time staying at Bahama Villa. The views are amazing! The two walls of glass sliders in the living area, really make an impact when you walk in. Absolutely gorgeous! The house is very cozy and very comfortable. Everything that one needs. The view from the master bedroom is amazing as well. I really feel at home at this house. We loved spending time on the deck taking in the gorgeous views and watching all kinds of different sea life swim by. The setting is very private at this house. We felt like we were the only people there. Ten Bay Beach is such a beautiful beach. The water is always so calm. It is nice and shallow at the beach. The snorkeling was great around the house. My husband and I never wanted to leave. The owners are great to work with as well. It is easy to get to the house and it is about a 15 minute drive to Governor's Harbour where you have two grocery stores and two liquor stores. We spent half a day exploring the southern end of the island but wanted to get back to the house. Everything we need or want to do is there. My husband and I love to travel to the different Out Islands of The Bahamas and this is my favorite place so far.
We just returned from an outstanding getaway at Bahama Villa. We stayed 6 nights, which wasn't nearly enough time. We wish we could stay here forever! I guess that means we will have to come back :) We visited many different beaches and explored many side roads, and Ten Bay was our favorite spot. We loved waking up in the morning to the waves crashing against the cove underneath the house, and watching the fish from the balcony in the morning with our cup of coffee. The villa is tastefully decorated and the kitchen has everything you could need to cook a nice meal. There were plenty of towels for our stay in the linen closet. A/C worked great. DEFINITELY BRING LOTS OF BUG SPRAY!!! We are from Florida, so we are used to mosquitos and bugs, but the noseeums came out in full force as soon as the sun started setting, so load up on the repellent. I made the mistake of going for a leisurely kayak at dusk without it and itched for the rest of the week. My mistake. There are several local restaurants in Palmetto Point that we stopped at for lunch/dinner(Sweet Dreams, 3JS jerk pit(YUM!), mate and jenny's). Some of the information in the welcome packet is a bit outdated, such as there being a cooler at the house, which there wasn't. That made it difficult to pack up some cold drinks and head out for day trips while trying to save some money. We called Sue the housekeeper but she said there wasn't one, nor a clothes washer. Also, we called Mavis Johnson for some home cooked meals per the number given in the packet, but she informed us that she hasn't been doing that for awhile since she has been sick. The internet was very shoddy when we got there, but Arthur warned us about that when we arrived. We tried calling the internet/phone company several times, but nothing really changed. It wasn't a big deal as we spent most of our time outdoors, but it would have been nice to have access to research some local hot spots/restaurants. The bed in the master was very comfortable, but we did not use the guest bedroom so I can't say anything about that. The kayak was great, but it took both of us to maneuver it down the stairs to use it, it would have been nice to have it stored a little lower, but I can see how it may have gotten blown away.
All in all, this was a vacation unlike no other. We definitely were on "island time" for the week we were there, which was exactly the type of vacation we were looking for! We loved your little piece of paradise.

The word 'Eleuthera' is the Greek word for 'freedom.' The island is long and narrow island (100 miles long, 2 miles wide) and sandwiched between the deep Atlantic to the east, and the calm shallow Caribbean to the west. There are plenty of beaches where you can walk for miles and not see a soul; hidden coves, and small island settlements with friendly people. Local hitch hikers are plentiful, and provide a bountiful supply of good information on island lore, activities and interesting sites. The population of Eleuthera is about 11,000, very friendly, most of whom are engaged in fishing, farming, and the tourist industry.
Bahama Villa, a secluded beach house located at Ten Bay, is the nicest little romantic getaway on the island. The Villa is located just a few miles south of Governors Harbour, where you will find a few shops, a bakery, a bank and several restaurants.
WEATHER on Eleuthera is tropical, meaning mostly sunny and hot during the day with occasional thunderstorms.
