This was our 2nd summer vacation at Cape Paradise. We've been coming to Cape San Blas for over 12 years and this is positively the best location ever! It is spacious and comfortable. We didn't even mind the stormy weather the 1st 2 days. We had 5 adults and 8 children, ages 4 - 10. They loved the pool and the adults enjoyed watching them. The beach was so close and the bay was about the same distance across the street. We went nearly every day to fish or wade out for scallops.
We live by one of the best beach vacation areas in the world (Destin, South Walton), but prefer our vacations in Cape Paradise every year! Already planning 2010!!
We stayed here for a week. This house was very clean with an extremely well-stocked kitchen. It even had a small George Foreman Grill, muffin pans, and good quality pots and pans and knives. The house was the most tastefully and beautifully decorated we've stayed in. The pictures on the website are accurate. We loved how the kitchen and great room were on top level with a view of the ocean and sunsets. On rainy days, we were able to play games on the screened porch. We made fun memories in the perfectly heated pool.
Remember that this house does not have an interior stairwell. This house was perfect as we have boys ages 11 and 15 but it may be a challenge with younger children. The master is on the top level and all other bedrooms one level below. These could only be accessed through exterior stairwell or elevator. This was not a problem with our age children and an excellent house if you have teens and don't want to hear their noise! This is a large house and you will not feel crowded. It sits on the top end of the circle away from the beach, about 425 steps, in the Seagrass Circle neighborhood. It was so easy to get to the beach and is level/flat the whole way so we were able to get my mom who uses a walker out on the beach. We fell in love with this house and hope to be back again.
WOW!!! That about sums it up. The house is fantastic. The owner is fatastic. The realty company is fantastic. We had 8 adults and 2 teenagers. Everyone had their own "space". There is plenty of room to spread out and relax and plenty of room to gather as a group for sunset watching and eating. If your concerned about the distance to the beach, don't be. It is about a 3 minute walk down the boardwalk. I highly reccomened this property and hope to stay here again!! QAnd, don't forget to check out Indian Pass Oyster and Raw Bar. YUMMY!
This beach house was wonderful. The community is perfect for families. It is very quiet and a great place for kids. There is plenty of room for them to ride their bikes or skate boards if they get tired of the sand and water. At first we thought not being right on the beach would be a problem, but the walk really is near and you can leave your big beach items out on the beach and everyone leaves it alone. The private pool was a blessing for us since we had a 3 and 4 yr. old who got hot by the ocean. The older kids enjoyed it in the morning and evening. The house is gorgeous and very well maintained. Make sure you request access to the elevator because their is no stairs inside the house, they are located on the outside. The location is great since you are 1 to 2 minutes away from the trading post and BP incase you need anything quickly. We have vacationed the past few years at Cape San Blas and have never found such beautiful shells as we did in this area. I would highly recommend this house to anyone and we definitely plan to go back next year.
Cape Paradise is amazing - it's everything that PPVR said it was. We had a blast, there were 12 of us and there was plenty of room. The pictures are not too good to be true - it really was as pretty as portrayed. We couldn't get the kids to do anything or go anywhere - they wanted to hang out at the pool or the beach. I think that says alot for a place when you have 3x14 yr. old boys, 2x 12 yr. old girls and 3 smaller children that don't want to go anywhere!!! We cannot wait to come back. I don't have any problem recommended this place to anyone. There were plenty of things to eat/cook with, we did bring a few pots and pans just because there were so many of us, but there were plenty of dishes, silverware and cups for all of us to drink from. We hated to leave!!!
My family met here from Florida, Alabama and Virginia. We had a wonderful time and everything was just perfect. You will enjoy the beach and the private pool.
