1870 Victorian Inn located in Historic Milan, OH. Only 15 min from Cedar Point.

This property is the ideal location for family gatherings. Just outside of Sandusky, Milan keeps you out of Vacationland traffic while only being minutes from Cedar Point. It accommodates multiple families with plenty of room indoors and out. Enjoy the very large eat-in kitchen with a dinning room table and breakfast bar that keeps people out of the cooking area. Or send them into the adjoining game room to shoot some pool. The bedrooms have plenty of room for a pack and play or even a full size air mattress. The large back hallway makes a nice play area. Outside, enjoy a cookout on the grill, gather around the firepit, or explore the 4.5 acre wood.

Family Gathering

  • 4 of 5

We were looking for somplace 15 family members could gather for a weekend, and we found the perfect spot! The location had something for everyone from the 2 yr old to the 79 year old, from golf to shopping to amusement parks to just plain old exploring the countryside. The house was wonderful, plenty of room outside and in. We loved the seclusion, not having to worry if we were being too noisy, and everyone loved the fire pit, as that's where we would catch-up after going our separate ways during the day. And the kitchen actually has the equipment and supplies for a large group! We hope to be back next year!

disapointment

  • 3 of 5

first of all i want to say the property is beautiful on the outside and well kept. the inside , ,although it has a lot of character was not what we hoped it would be. we were there for 3 days and were finding stink bugs all over the inside every day. on beds on the counters and in the bathrooms. the two small bedrooms and the hallway upstairs were terribly hot at nite and uncomfortable sleeping. on a positive note house came very well equipped with everything you would need including a washer and dryer which was nice.

Owner's Response: This group was disappointed from the time they arrived. I don't believe they took the time to read the description. It is a home built in 1870 set in a woods in northern Ohio. We have 13 bed spaces and after that, camping cots, air mattresses, sleeping bags, and couches. We did have an unknown problem with the thermostat on one of the air conditioners. Unfortunately, it wasn't until the next day that I was able to resolve the issue. This was the reason the upstairs was hot and also led to the stink bug situation. I was over at 6 PM, 7 PM, and 2 PM the first 24 hours in an attempt to please my guests. They had open every window and every door, even those without screens, along with having every light on upstairs, downstairs, and on the porches. I'm certain this drew bugs from all over into the house. I refunded $200 on the night the air was not working and told them I would refund an additional $200 for each of the next 2 nights if I was not able to get it fixed. The first day was 91 outside but the next two days were in the 70s. I just want anyone who is considering this house to know the issues they reported were due to the air conditioning being off and the renter leaving the doors opened. The air was fixed the next day. I am sorry they were disappointed and thankful that their response is the first I've had in the 10 years I've been renting my home. If you read my other reviews you will find most guests feel the Inn is more than they expected.

Fantastic place for a large group in a charming town

  • 5 of 5

Our large, extended family gathered to celebrate our daughter's college graduation at the Old Tobacconist Inn. Cindy is the consummate hostess, providing everything you might need for a comfortable stay. Her gardens, bird feeders, fire pit and lovely grounds make it heavenly for summer events. Our grown children really enjoyed the pool table and we adults took full advantage of the comfortable seating areas indoors and out for quiet conversation. The large, open kitchen made daily cooking for 20 a breeze, and we even hosted a BBQ for a larger contingent. There were lots of air mattresses and extra bedding for our gang, but not quite enough bathrooms. We managed! It was truly a perfect spot. We loved Milan too. What a sweet spot to walk around, grab a bite and soak in some Americana.

Home away from Home!

  • 5 of 5

This property is definitely the ideal attraction; Secluded yet in middle of everything you'll need for your stay. The house is wonderfully furnished and decorated. Very spacious, we had I believe 15 people in our party and there was more than enough room for everyone. The pictures are nice, but truly does not justify on just how nice this home is....everything you need is there.

The owners were very nice and friendly, and available for any questions you may have, though the welcome book is very informative and detailed.

We're already thinking of planning a winter trip!

Perfect for our group

  • 5 of 5

With 3 families and 8 kids, it was perfect!!! The house was clean, the kids could run in the yard, had water balloon fight (I apologize for any water balloon guts we missed), the rooms were nicely arranged and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Thank you so much for giving us the privilege to stay there -- it was fabulous.

Historic Milan, Ohio. Birthplace of Thomas Edison. Reminiscent of a rural New England town, the Milan, Ohio retail business area is built around the charming town square which was established as the town's centerpiece in 1867 along with the Solders & Sailors Monument which was dedicated on July 4, 1867. The monument features the names of all 330 citizens of Milan who served in the Civil War. The clock towered town hall was built in 1876 and the Milan Library in 1912. The large picturesque gazebo was added in the 1960's and The Young Edison Statue in 1984. Annual activities on the square include Antiques On The Square in July and the famous Milan Melon Festival during the Labor Day Weekend each year.

Other Activities: Kalahari Indoor water park, Cedar Point, Lake Erie Islands
