'Bass Lake is a freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada, located 14 miles (23 kilometers) from the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. The lake is considered a 'warm water' lake with water temperatures reaching 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months. Most of the land around the lake is part of the Sierra National Forest. The United States Forest Service designated the lake an official Recreation Area and has developed campgrounds and picnic areas on the south shore of the lake. Much of the area surrounding Bass Lake is devoted to the tourism industry.' The weather is warm and inviting during the Summer time, seasonally beautiful during the Spring and Fall months, and you will want to cozy up next to a warm fireplace on cold Winter days. Bass Lake is a great place for outdoor enthusiasts, families with children, and all others to enjoy.

About Maria and Brent Reden

Truly an outdoorsman and a city gal. We are a family of eight and are natives of Southern California. Our interests include the great outdoors, mountain activities, skiing, hiking, boating and water/winter sports, fishing, the beach and surfing, cooking, shopping, the performing arts, traveling to new and interesting places and going to Bass Lake when we can get away. Spring and Fall are our favorite changing seasons.

Maria and Brent Reden purchased this house in 2005

Why Maria and Brent Reden chose Yosemite Area

Beautiful memories visiting grandparents living in Bass Lake and activities with other family members during the summer months sparked interest in purchasing this property. We purchased this home new in 2005. The home is warm and inviting with an open floorplan and it has a nice patio yard, which is great for socializing and family gatherings. It's a cozy place and a gem.

What makes this house unique

Best of both worlds. The property is located in a small lakeside community of homes at the northshore end of Bass Lake with resort-like amenities (pool, spa, tennis courts) and direct access-walking distance to the lake. The home is conveniently located between two resort marinas and it is adjacent to beach areas, ideal for swimming. Gorgeous panoramic views of the lake with dense pine trees can be seen during the day, colorful sunsets glow at sun down and brilliant stars illuminate the dark skies at night. The upstairs deck is great for sipping morning coffee, reading a good book or just relaxing. Many outdoor sport activities can be enjoyed here. Let's not forget the amazing Yosemite National Park and other beautiful points of interests to explore and local activities within close proximity to our home.

Wonderful vacation home!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay in Bass Lake. This home was perfect for us! Plenty of space, clean, cozy beds, and everything you would need for a vacation away from home. Nice location, too! We would definitely stay here again!!

Loved it!!!!

  • 5 of 5

This house is awesome!!! We planned a trip to Yosemite this summer but we knew we didn't want to stay in Yosemite for a whole week so we decided Bass Lake! This house is super quiet and peaceful. My 6 year old and my 3 year old loved the neighbors and played soccer with them, they loved the pool, the small walk to the lake and walking outside in the neighborhood with flashlights looking at the Stars that we don't see in LA. House was very cozy and clean. It was our first time in Bass Lake and our fourth time in Yosemite, but our first time with kids and grandma. We all drove to Yosemite 3 times, it's 30 minutes to the Entrance but we honestly loved the lake! renting a boat, spending the day at the lake with our cooler, music and food, we spent a day at the house in the pool and BBQn and enjoyed some of the few restaurants around the lake.

Can't wait to go back

Clean beautifully decorated home.

  • 4 of 5

Very nice home but very close to the road so there is lots of highway noise. Not enough towels, no soap provided and very little toilet paper. Would be nice to have more of those basics as well as to have a garage door opener. We had to get out of the car each time to lock garage door and then front door. Kind of a hassle. Otherwise nice stay, easy to deal with owners and accommodating with our departure time. Thank you, Maria!

Owner's Response: We take pride in extending our lovely vacation home to a handful of guest stays each season. The home is located in a nice lakeside community of 22 homes with resort-like amenities which is unique to Bass Lake. There is a two lane road (not highway) that travels around the entire lake. This lakeside community as well as many other lakeside properties are located inside this two lane road. July is by far the most popular month to visit Bass Lake including its Independence Day fireworks display over the lake and lingering festivities as well as other fun summer activities. While the lake is well-traveled at times, we have yet to receive any concerns regarding noise from our guests. Please glance through our fabulous guest reviews. The home is well-appointed and comfortable with quality bedding and ample linens. Our guests are provided with a detailed listing of what's in the home and some suggestions of what to bring. Guests bring there own personal supplies. And as always, we hope that our guests have a memorable vacation experience.

Peaceful Bass Lake Home

  • 5 of 5

May 2015 - Thank you for opening up your beautiful vacation home to us. We had such a great experience visiting Bass Lake and Yosemite (20-30 minutes to entrance)!! This was our first experience using VRBO and we hit the jackpot with a cozy, beautiful home and extremely helpful, friendly owners. The rooms are spacious and clean, pool/hot tub, quiet/peaceful neighborhood, great kitchen for cooking/baking, BBQ grill, and close grocery stores. We had a wonderful time jet skiing on Bass Lake and spending one of our mornings at Glacier Point (a must-see) in Yosemite...absolutely breathtaking!!! You could easily spend 2 weeks here. We are already planning our next trip back.

A Wonderful Stay1

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a stay at this lovely home with our family. It's well situated, immaculate, well equipped and just a great place for a relaxing vacation. We enjoyed the walking path to the lake, the pool, hot tub and tennis courts. The house is in a nice little neighborhood and is surrounded by trees. A short drive to the Pines Resort. Maria, the owner, was most gracious and helpful. Highly recommended!
