Thank you for a wonderful, brief visit to O.C., NJ. What would summer be without time spent on Delancey Place in O.C.?Your comfy, cute home met our needs perfectly for our days here. As always, we always wish we could stay longer, but the start of school beckons us home.Coffee at 4th Street Cafge is delicious! As always, we enjoyed breakfast at Browns, miniature golf & the Wonderland Pier rides, especially for our youngest, who couldn't get enough of those rides on the horses, firetrucks, race cars.Although the water was rough the first days with restrictions, it is always a treat to lazily enjoy a day at the beach. Today looks to be the perfect beach day.We searched for Back-In-Time Antiques but never found it. We did go to Yours, Ours, Mine Antiques which was fun. Thanks for being flexible with us and helping us to end our summer on a great note! The Gregory'sNorwood, PA
My husband I and I were there yesterday and the unit is perfect. We love it so much we booked it for a good part of the summer of 2016. The beach and boardwalk are a block away and it is apparent this is a clean, bright, sunny well cared for unit. Cannot wait for June 25th to check in.
I'm not sure if the other reviews actually stayed at this rental because our recent experience was so far off. I booked the unit based on the other reviews and while I never leave reviews, I feel like I need to leaven on honest review so other people know what they are getting into and can make an informed decision. I'm not a traveling snob, and have stayed at a ton of places and this one was by far the worst. On par with a $50/night hotel.
It's about an 8 minute walk to the beach and 15 minutes to the first amusement park on the boardwalk
The price is probably one of the lowest around and it seems to reflect a minimum that people get
There is a washer/dryer stacked unit in the unit
The lady who rents downstairs is super nice and helpful with tips on the area
There is a new dishwasher and the WIFI is pretty good
There is room in the garage for your beach cart/bikes/etc
This street is by far the WORST street in OC to park on. There is no parking because everyone has driveways, it's full of 2/3 family homes, and there is no alley way behind. It was so bad that we didn't want to go anywhere because we didn't want to not get a parking spot. We had to park pretty far away Fri-Monday and got closer Tues-Thursday.
The beds are HORRIBLE!! They are soo old and uncomfortable that we drove 30 minutes away the 2nd day in search of mattress toppers. That helped but for a few $100's, new mattress would make a world of difference.
The window a/c units are filthy, loud as a freight train, and barely work!! When we left I saw that the one sticking out of the front bedroom was missing a chunk of it. I'm allergic to dust and I suffered all week from all the stuff that the AC's kicked out. All the owners need to do is clean the units. We told them about the AC and they didn't care.
The place is old (as in early 1900's) which is okay except that you can hear everything above you, including full conversations.
The kitchen is tiny and gets super hot so we didn't bother to cook any of the food we lugged with us. It also has the worst items, like a cracked cutting board that leaked everything. So bring your own stuff if you like to cook.
The whole place is dirty and just neglected, it's obvious they never do a deep clean or fix stuff. A shade was broken in the living room and I washed everything in the kitchen before using it. The couch should be thrown out and the front porch furniture was broken and scratchy.
We had a wonderful time in Ocean City in August 2015 while staying in this rental apartment. Cozy and neat, clean, and with nice character, the modest sized apartment was nice to come "home" to after a day at the beach or on the boardwalk (and only a 5-minute walk or so). Bedrooms were welcoming and the smaller room was a good size for two children (even with two twin beds there was adequate room for a pack-and-play). Kitchen was nicely equipped with all we needed to prepare lunches for the beach and simple meals at the apartment. Air conditioners in each bedroom and the dining room/main area kept the unit comfortably cool. Washer and dryer in the master bedroom was extremely convenient and the simple outdoor shower helped keep sand out. Street parking was generally easy to find and even on the busiest (weekend) nights we always found a spot within a few minutes walk. Owner was nice enough to stop by on our first full day to ensure we were settled and the welcoming gift from a local bakery was a nice touch. Overall, would recommend to families with children looking for a comfortable place to stay that is close to the beach.
I have been visiting Ocean City for over 25 years and I would highly recommend this apartment. The listing was very accurate in terms of the amenities and layout. The apartment was very clean and nicely decorated (felt like a beach house). The porch looks small but there is plenty of room for 4 people to sit outside. A plus is that the furniture is clean and there is good lighting on the porch. The bedrooms are good size. The kitchen is a little small but the appliances were clean and worked well…including toaster oven and microwave. There was a lot of shelf space to store food and other items. There were plenty of serving dishes, eating utensils, and cooking utensils. The only thing I would mention is that if you like to cook a lot, you might want to bring a colander and a frying pan. There is one frying pan but it is rather small.
The owners provided many extras in terms of paper products and cleaning supplies. We always bring our own but it is nice to have extras in case we run out or forget something.
It was very nice that the owners are in the city during the summer. We had a question about the key and a minor problem with the outdoor shower. They took care of both very quickly. They were very friendly before, during, and after our rental time. I would definitely rent this property again.
The location is great. The one thing I would mention in case you are not familiar with Ocean City is that this apartment is located on one of the few streets that is a one-way street and does not have an alley behind it. As with most apartments on this street, there is no off-street parking at this property. There is a no parking section right in front, so we were able to unload and then park the car elsewhere.
We enjoyed our rental in August 2011. The master bedroom was large enough for our son's pack-n-play while our two daughters each had their own bed in the other bedroom. The location to the boardwalk and beach was great. Certain aspects of the apartment were recently remodeled giving it a charming appeal. We also liked that pet were not permitted. Overall, the place served our needs well.
Just 30 minutes from the junction of the Atlantic City Expressway and the Garden State Parkway. Head south until exit #30 Ocean City. Once through the toll, keep heading east on route 52. Through the circle in Somers Point and over the causeway to Ocean City. Somers Point houses all the alcoholic entertainment establishments needed for any occasion. North of Ocean City is Longport, and south is Sea Isle City. Corsons Inlet State Park on the south end of the island.
