Lovely condo on the ground floor, with open plan kitchen, living and dining room. There is a private patio off the master bedroom. The lovely complex is quiet, but only a few minutes drive to downtown Palm Beach with its shops, beaches, cinemas and night-life, or a 10 minute walk. The complex has two pools, children's pool and playground. There is 24/7 security and parking outside the unit. A small grocery store, several excellent restaurants and banks are within a few minutes walk. The condo is charmingly decorated in 'Caribbean Ikea' style to make you feel you are truly in a tropical paradise. The kitchen is fully equipped, including coffee-maker, microwave oven, full size stove top/ oven and washer/dryer. There are ceiling fans in every room and A/C throughout. This is an ideal place for those who wish to stay in Aruba short term or for a month or longer, without the expense of staying at a resort hotel.
Aruba has some of the best tap water in the world, thanks to a water purification/desalination plant installed on the island by the Dutch. So no need to buy bottled water or worry about eating salads etc or ice-cubes in drinks!
We stayed at Sally's from 26 March to 02 April. Couldn't have made a better choice. The condo was perfect for all our needs, very close to the Palm Beach strip and very centrally located for everything else. It's close to both pools in the complex, lovely grounds and the condo itself is very cozy and inviting. The kitchen is very well equipped and there was no shortage of beach towels. The beach chairs came in very handy. The air conditioning was great, however it was hardly needed with the number of ceiling fans. Thanks again Sally, for a wonderful stay
We stayed in Palma Real for a week at the end of February, and enjoyed Aruba very much. Sally was very helpful in answering all of our questions before the trip, providing directions and advice. Checking into her condo was very easy, and we found the place to be rustic but very clean. It is exactly as pictured. Very nice location, walking distance to the beach, stores and restaurants. We only rented a jeep for a day for off-roading; we found walking and taking the bus was very easy and convenient.
Unfortunately, when we arrived at the condo there was no toilet paper and no garbage bags for the kitchen. Both Sally and Nora responded very quickly when we let them know, and Nora came by with supplies, however, we were only given 2 rolls of toilet paper (to last 2 adults for 7 nights). This is my 4th time renting a condo on vacation, and I have never encountered such a shortage of supplies. Yes, we could have kept contacting Nora, but didn't want to have to wait on her for our entire trip. We bought our own toilet paper, and dish soap (that ran out on day 3). I expected a better stock of supplies, especially when someone cleans the condo between renters, and should know what is low and in need of restocking. This is not something I want to worry about on vacation, and also do not want to feel like I have to ask for supplies daily (which is why we ended up purchasing our own).
The a/c in the condo was great, especially for sleeping. It was lovely to sit out back in the evenings and enjoy the warm weather. We were able to cook most of our meals in the condo, with the full kitchen, which was great. Very comfortable space for 2 people. Just be prepared for no extras - while she does have pots and pans, lots of dishes, and even tupperware for taking food out with you, there are no condiments, cooking oil etc. Just salt and pepper.
I would rent from Sally again, but would be better prepared next time. And would ask ahead about basic supplies.
Nice studio.Good location
This condo is in a quiet place in Aruba. It is a short half mile walk to the beach. We recommend renting a car though... because there is so much to see on that great little island. Aruba's best restaurant is across the street and there are a ton of other restaurants and night spots. There is a trade-off for the ocean view and all of the noise that comes with it. Sally was responsive to my needs and she has a local contact should you get into any trouble. We had the Internet go down several times but that is not Sally's fault. Since we spend so little time in the condo, we view the bed in the shower as being "most important". The shower was excellent, but the bed was average.
All in all, it was a great stay and I would rebook there.
As first time visitors to Aruba, we weren't sure what to expect. Sally's place was perfect for this couple. A car was necessary for us, as we didn't particularly like the crowds of the hi-rise area. Condo had everything we needed, pool was right there, and we never had problems parking. Loved it! Hope to return one day...
This apartment was exactly as described and perfect for the two of us. It is nice to have a full kitchen, as eating out can be quite expensive in Aruba. The bed was comfortable and the house was well equipped. The air conditioning was a definite bonus as it can get quite hot in Aruba. The wifi worked well. (Note: The code for the wifi is beside the TV, the one on the sheet of paper is incorrect)
Sally's local agent was helpful and came right away to rectify the broken shower wand.
The walk down to Palm Beach is an easy walk of less than a mile.
We would stay again, and would recommend it to others.
Another great stay! New air conditioning unit was a plus. Sally stays on top of her renter's needs and keeps everything up to date.
Palm Beach is the most popular town in Aruba for vacationing, with beautiful long stretches of sand, beach bars and all other beach facilities, two piers with music, food and happy hour; casinos, restaurants, shops and night clubs and the ocean is crystal clear and warm all year round. 5 minutes drive north, you will find smaller, less touristy rocky coves and great snorkeling at Arachi and Malmok. Aruba has the advantage of being located outside the hurricane belt, so you never need to worry about the season and weather. The locals are friendly and most speak 3 or 4 languages, including English, so no worries there.
The tap water is among the best in the world as Aruba has its own water purification plant, so no problem there either, and no need to drink bottled water.
