This is home from home all you need is at the house !! Please contact me if you want any more information .re the house or the area ..I am happy to help you have a good stay and enjoy the beautiful area.

A comfortable and well-equipped three-bedroom home in a stunning setting for 2 -6 people. You are renting a private house with a natural garden for your use only (not shared).

Two patios, one has Fig and Olive trees for shade and a terrace with table, chairs (for 6 people) and a couple of sun loungers to relax on and enjoy the views. The other patio is lovely to sit on in the full sun!

At the house has a portable 4G Wfi modem, for e mails etc but not for downloading films and music. Free WIFI is also available in the main village piazza and in bars and restaurants.

The road to the house is cobbled and there is no through traffic. There is a private parking area for 1 car at the side of the house.

The house is only five minutes walk from the castle, piazza and shops.

The house is typical of many found in the town with vaulted ceilings and a cantina beneath. There are three bedrooms. The two upstairs both have two single beds and the double is downstairs.

There are two bathrooms. The newer one downstairs has a shower, bidet, loo and a wash basin.

Upstairs is a smaller, basic bathroom off one of the bedrooms, with a hip bath and over shower, loo and hand basin. Towels and hairdryer are provided. All linen is provided and there are blankets and duvets for the cooler weather.

The Utility room has a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

The comfortable Lounge/Dining room was converted from a barn 10 years ago and has wonderful views across the valley from the large picture window, this room also has access to the garden. Two 2-seater sofas plus two chairs ( seating for up to 6 people) coffee table, dining table with seating for 6 people , TV and DVD player and a music docking station makes this a relaxing space. Many books, games, DVD’s, maps and guides are provided for guests.

The kitchen is well-equipped and has a breakfast table. Cooking is on a bottled gas cooker. There is a fridge/freezer, toaster, slow cooker, hand blender and plenty of plates, cutlery, glasses, pans, tea-towels etc. Picnic utensils, flasks, cooler bag and picnic rug are also provided and there is a small BBQ.

There is a wood pellet stove in the kitchen when needed and two bottled gas fires are in the house. FANS are in each room for the hotter weather and the windows have fly screens.

Abruzzo is known as "the greenest region in Europe" Capestrano is a picturesque hill-top town of around 700 people. There is a main piazza, churches, a monastery and a beautiful C13th castle (free entry) overlooking the town. It is located on the edge of the National Park known as the Gran Sasso e monti della Laga. The Majella national park is also nearby.

Facilities are good with an ATM, Gelateria, a bar with a restaurant, two small supermarkets, butcher, pharmacy, post office etc. A mobile fruit and veg stall is there most days. A market is held each week on a Friday morning with a range of stalls. Many other markets can be found in the area. A lovely bakery is nearby and a farm shop selling cheese and yogurt.

There are peaceful nature walks from the house and more challenging ones in the hills. Climbing, biking , two bikes to use at your own risk with a bike carrier to fit many cars, ideal for the local lanes but not for serious mountain biking.

Horse-riding, canoeing and an outdoor pool (July/August) are all available in the area. There are numerous places to visit nearby - ancient sites, castles, museums, wineries, local food producers etc. All details can be found in the guest information at the house . I also e mail you plenty of information when you book .

The beaches of the Adriatic are 50 minutes away.

Locally, you can eat in many good restaurants.

I care about my guests and want them to have a 5 * stay and my reviews reflect this, on this site, air b&b and trip advisor.

I will always try to reply to any enquiry within a couple of hours , I just sometimes need to check with my cleaner regarding the booking !Or a delay if you are on a different time zone! Pamela

What makes this house unique

Abruzzo is the undiscovered gem of Italy for its nature, culture and gastronomy. It is the "real Italy" with a warm and friendly welcome. Amazing places to eat, lots of places to visit and a great place to relax. Abruzzo is known as "the greenest region in Europe" as one third of its territory, the largest in Europe, is set aside as national parks and protected nature reserves: there are three national parks, one regional park, and 38 protected nature reserves.

Monelle

A comfortable, welcoming house in spectacular setting

  • 5 of 5

Before we arrived and by email during the stay, Pamela made sure we had excellent information to make our stay pleasant . The house is extremely well organized and well equipped. There are comfortable places to sleep, eat, and relax.

But when we pulled up the blind over the picture window in the sitting room, I actually laughed because I had never seen such a spectacular view. And the mountains and valleys that you can see through the window are full of trails. The rental has lots of books and maps giving directions to some of the trails.

The people in Capestro are very friendly.

A roomy and very well equipped house in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful area and the view from the living area window is superb - the photo on the website does not do it justice. We had everything we needed and Pamela provided us with lots of useful information and maps before we went and in the house. Capestrano is a lovely old village with good shops for its size and friendly people. As a bonus we were there during the two-day Burgus Lupuli festival. The house also served as an excellent centre for visiting the Gran Sasso Park, the Sulmona area and the coast. Thoroughly recommend.

UN SEJOUR ENCHANTEUR

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: I am glad you had a wonderful holiday . Sorry you found the water pressure low, this is a Capestrano village problem, I have been told that new water pipes will be fitted soon in the village to improve this problem. Best wishes Pamela

L’Aquila: 45 min.

Torre Cerrano (empfohlener Adria-Badeplatz nördlich Pescara): 60 min

  • 5 of 5
