You can't get much closer to the ocean, and this one is as close as it gets, the view is Awesome!! . People comment that they feel like they are on a boat !! Watch whales, turtles, dolphins, and surfers from your own private 400 square foot lanai only 20 feet off the ocean. Prepare meals as often or as little as you like in the fully-equipped kitchen, which includes a washer/dryer too. Take a dip in the ocean view swimming pool or relax in the Jacuzzi. This is the perfect location close to downtown Kona, as well as the Keauhou shopping center. Third floor unit ( yes there is an elevator)

Unit includes free wifi- free phone service-free covered assigned parking- all of the home and beach amenities you will need.

*******This is the only style unit in the building that has a private master suite. The bedrooms are part of the living room in the other units.

********Our lanai is three times larger than the rest of the units in the building. This wrap around feature also allows for the mountain to be viewed.

MOST OFTEN ASKED QUESTIONS: Are you near the beach ? We are located at Banyan Beach so the beach is right beside the building.There are also 4-5 pocket beaches in Kona. I would describe them as about 50 yards in length, some are white sand.Some are white sand and lava rock.

How close is the ocean to the unit ? If you were any closer you would be in a boat. Watch our video and you will see that Banyan Tree sits right on top of the ocean and this unit is located at the closest point to the ocean. We are at the closest point to the surfers.

I've been ripped off in Hawaii before, are you real ? I just got ripped off myself at a hotel in Pismo Beach, Ca. last summer so I understand where this is coming from. First off please read our reviews. They are totally controlled by Homeaway and are from actual guests. Why Don chose Kona Coast

I haven't seen anywhere in Hawaii that the ocean comes in like it does at Banyan Tree. The people in Kona are absolutely the friendliest people I have encountered on the islands with the feel of old Hawaii still intact. Kona is my favorite city in Hawaii and in the future Banyan Tree will be my next home.

What makes this condo unique

This is the only style unit in the building that has a private master suite. Rest of building the bedrooms are part of the living room. Our lanai is three times larger than the rest of the units in the building, not only giving more space but adding a view of the volcano overlooking Kona.

Assigned covered parking with other parking available. Pool on ocean side of building with Jacuzzi and two BBQ grills. This is direct ocean front on Alii Dr at Banyan Tree Beach. Plenty of great snorkel spots close by ( sorry we do not supply snorkel gear)

Great Condo and Location

If your looking to relax with the on top of the ocean , then you will love this place. ( The view is so much prettier in person than the photos show) Walking into the living room you feel like your walking onto the ocean. Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, full amenities, everything you would want for a place away from home. Not a large complex so it's never too busy at the pool or hot tub which are perfectly heated and maintained. Nice to return to our reserved parking spot.

It has a beautiful view being right on the water so enjoyed sunsets every night right from the lanai.

What a fantastic week we just had in this unit for the second time in five years!

Everything is exactly as described and the photos listed are a very accurate depiction of what you actually get. Look forward to our return.

Amazing oceanfront condo!

My girlfriend and I were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful oceanfront condo in April of 2017 for 10 amazing days! We are both professional photographers and were looking to spend most of our time exploring everything the island has to offer. This condo was a perfect base of operations, as everything was within a reasonable drive for us. We live in California so pretty much everything is "two to three hours drive", and I don't think we took much more than two hours to get to even the furthest part of the island, and there is SO much to do right there in Kona. Two hours south is Kilauea volcano, which we HIGHLY recommend seeing! Another "can't miss" is Rainbow Falls and Hawai'i Botanical Gardens over in Hilo side. After exploring and photographing all day (and sometimes all night!), it was so nice to return to the condo for a nice relaxing dinner and sunset on that roomy lanai.

Kitchen was well equipped, and the washer/dryer was a pleasant (and needed) bonus! Although it has several televisions, we never turned them on... haha! We did take advantage of the pool/jacuzzi too.

The condo is clean, bright, and well ventilated. No A/C, but it didn't need it at all. We just left the lanai doors open and the refreshing sea breeze keeps the place very comfortable. The living room has the most amazing ceiling to floor window so you can kick back on the couch and enjoy the view of the ocean. With private resident and guest-only access to the property and reserved off street parking, we felt very secure and safe.

Can't wait to return!

No AC, unusable beach front for kids, older building. Beautiful view, nice breeze,.

The condo limits how much laundry you can do, so we had to go home with dirty laundry. Park next to bedroom windows was very noisy sometimes, late at night and VERY early mornings. It was ok, but less than spectacular.

Owner's Response: Sorry our washer was down during your stay. I offered the laundromat next door for washing ,and our dryer was working at the unit. In the tip sheet I send I give directions for an excellent spot for small children to enjoy the ocean. ( Keiki Pool) Banyan Tree Beach is the the top surfing location on the Big Island. When you look at our photos you can see there is lava rock and surfers, only the most experienced ocean goers should enter. A few minutes away a white sand beach called Magic Sands can be found. Kona only has two small pocket beaches for swimming.

Good location

Great location to watch sunsets, surfers, and the waves! Walking distance to Da Poke Shack, which was delish! The kitchen is a bit worn, but useable. Appreciated the great beach chairs and coolers to use. Since it's next to a public beach access, it can get a little noisy at night and street noise is noticeable when all the windows are open in the front rooms. When we were there, the washer and dryer was broken, wish we were notified before hand as we didn't bring enough clothes, thinking we could do a load when there, so check first.

Owner's Response: The washer part of the combo was fixed, I apologize for the inconvenience. The day it broke I sent a repairman to the unit. No parts are kept on the island so the wait was based on shipping from the mainland. Paradise sometimes works in the opposite direction.

Fantastic Location - Great views of ocean and surfers

The fantastic Lanai that wrapped around two sides of the apartment provided the perfect setting for quiet meals with incredible views.

Everything was as advertised and the owner and his worker provided useful information and were readily accessible. There was a small problem with one of the applicances the day before we arrived which the owner was open and communicated about, and thus it didn't interfere in any way with our vacation. He followed up to get it fixed ASAP and it was no problem but his concern to have things perfect was appreciated. We enjoyed using the grills and the location was great since it was central to a lot of the places we visited, in addition to being 10 yards from the most used surfing area on the island. About a dozen surfers from sunrise to sunset made the view even better and yet we still had good privacy three floors up on the covered Lanai.

BEST OCEAN VIEW + SURFER WATCHING FROM THE BALCONY!

We enjoyed the view better than any we have ever had on the Big Island. The surfers showed up every morning and were there most of the day which provided quite a bit of entertainment (no TV needed but there were three). The ocean sounds were so relaxing; you can hear them from every room unless you close the windows. The location of the condo is perfect, halfway between downtown and the Keauhou Shopping Center where you find Longs Drugs and KTA grocery which have most everything you need. Right next door to the condo is a little park - go to the Poke Shack (five minute walk) and have a fantastic lunch at the picnic tables in the park. Or back to the balcony! The ocean breezes are very nice plus there are ceiling fans in every room which makes the condo feel cool while you are there.

The kitchen is small but well stocked with everything you need for cooking at home. The full sized refrigerator and microwave and dishwasher are really all you need for restaurant leftovers - who wants to cook anyway. (KTA has a nice selection of fish if you feel like staying in.)

There are a couple snorkeling beaches in walking distance (a long walk so wear comfy shoes). In the condo you can find snorkeling gear, boogie boards, towels, beach chairs....I can't think of anything that wasn't provided that you would need for a nice day at the beach. There was a full sized washer and dryer which was very handy for beach towels.

I just hope it is still available to rent the next time we visit the Big Island! I highly recommend!

Banyan Tree is located in Kona on Alii Dr which is the main oceanfront road. The unit sits on the ocean side of the road and is located about 1.5 miles from the downtown shopping area. Banyan Tree Beach is located right at the building. Pocket beaches are located all along Alii Dr and some of the best snorkeling found in Hawaii. There is a small market across the street ( 9am-9pm) In the building next door is a convenience store, and a surf shop. (very small) Driving- downtown (5 minutes) airport-(15 minutes)
