|Minimum Stay||2 - 7 nights|
Our large, recently renovated, B&B-like house sits on a knoll overlooking Keuka Lake with an extraordinary view, especially at sunset. We have 120 feet of lake front with a large private beach with a dock, grill, table, chairs and an excellent swimming area.
We offer great offseason rates for our 4-season home. In early spring (through April 15), weekends are just $350 for two nights, $450 for three. Midweek nights are just $125. Spring weekends (though May 21) are just $500 for two nights, $650 for three. Midweek nights are just $150 (3 night minimum).
We do not process payments through this website. As a result, our renters do not pay this website's new fee on renters.
We are near numerous wineries, most of which stay open on weekends through the winter. In the spring you can often hear the sound of the creek flowing at the edge of our property. In the fall, the color around the lake is spectacular. In the winter, our house has central heat and a gas-burning fireplace in the den. The view out our new picture windows is fabulous, especially in winter when the trees have lost their leaves. We are less than an hour from Bristol Mountain Ski Area.
From our covered porch you can enjoy the ever-changing light off the lake. You can walk or bike the access road in front of our house, perhaps hiking up one of canyons into the hills above the lake, to some extraordinary waterfalls. You can walk or bike the trail that connects Keuka and Seneca Lakes. Or fish -- the area near our house is known as one of the best bass fishing areas in the Finger Lakes.
The house is nearly 2,000 square feet. We added two bathrooms as well as a laundry room. The very well-equipped kitchen is modern with a new dishwasher as well as a UV water filter and garbage disposal.
There are three good-sized bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs, including a 225-square-foot master bedroom. All three bedrooms have lake views as well as air conditioners. There is a full bed in one, a queen in the second and two twin beds plus a full futon in the third. We have two roll-away beds plus many baby items such as a travel crib/bassinet.
The den downstairs can be closed off and has a new convertible full sofa. There is a new half bath on the first floor.
The front of the house is a covered porch with Adirondack chairs and a teak dining table. There is also a covered flagstone patio off the driveway.
One thing we've learned from decades of renting and now owning vacation rental houses is that perhaps the most important factor is whether the owner uses the house regularly. We do. We love the house and the area. We spend a lot of time at the house during the offseason, working on it and enjoying it. It's also a great place to write, which is part of my job.
When owners use a house for more than a week in the summer, they make sure the kitchen is well equipped. They make sure everything works and is comfortable. You don't want your sister-in-law complaining about the beds!
They also add to the house over time, as we have done even after the initial renovation. We love the land and we've spent tons of time getting it as beautiful as it is. There's more to do but it's been gratifying to see it come back to life over time.
Tim Saasta purchased this house in 2007
We were introduced to Keuka Lake 20 years ago by friends in Rochester. We kept coming back. We bought this house with our friends because it had spectacular potential. Restoring this house -- built as early as the 1840s -- has been a ton of work, but worth it.
The sunset view. The secluded pebble beach. The house. The covered porch. Biking/walking along East Lake Rd. The area. The view.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely, old, centrally-located home with a beautiful view of Keuka Lake. It was well-equipped & had plenty of space. We enjoyed the views as we had family game nights at the large inside table overlooking the lake. The Adirondack chairs on the deck allowed for comfortable and relaxing seating in the mornings and while watching the sunsets in the evenings. Really wish that canoes or kayaks were available with the rental... we didn't have perfect weather until our last full day so we didn't want to rent kayaks for three days to be delivered, but it would have been wonderful to have them available (or a row-boat to take out fishing.). There was no action from the dock at our personal beach across the road as far as fishing and we couldn't figure out how to access the cove that is supposed to be 5-6 houses south that is mentioned in the house notes. It was a great base for all the activities we enjoyed: Glass blowing in Corning, hiking the BREATHTAKING Watkins Glen, visiting several wineries, and even a drive up to Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario to see the lighthouse. The price during the week was very reasonable for the spacious home and beautiful view. A king-size bed in the Master, watercraft availability, & direct access to the lake without having to cross the road and go down the path would make it a 5 star, but for the price, we would still recommend this home on the water!
My family went up to celebrate my nephew's birthday. He attends Rochester Institute...a good place to stay if visiting a Rochester student because it is not far. The house is well stocked with everything you need. There were 8 of us and we were comfortable for three nights. Older backs may not be able to do the pull out sofa for too long but very appropriate for younger people. The big porch was wonderful as it overlooks beautiful Keuka Lake. Our weekend was cool so I am looking forward to going back during a warmer time. Parking was a little tight with three cars. If you have more than three ask the owner for recommendations. The owner is very accommodating. And I felt that the prices were much more reasonable than the other rentals. There is much to do and see, especially if you like wine. I noticed that there are more breweries in the area now. We had a great time!
Our family spent Easter weekend at this awesome home! My husband & I with our four children, my parents, and my sister were all very comfortable & were blown away by the vintage charm of this home. Wide plank floors, beautiful vintage buffets & armoires greeted us, - lovely decor all around...yet not at all stuffy & incredibly family friendly. I wanted to pick this house up & take it with me.
The house was incredibly clean. When we arrived everything was fresh & inviting. And, everything you can need is provided including towels & sheets...which is plus - less stuff to pack! In addition the kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment you could possibly need for cooking in and there were plenty of paper supplies such as toilet paper & paper towels as well.
There is a knock-out view of the lake! There's an incredible front porch with plenty of porch seating. It was pretty cold the weekend we were there. (The lake was still mostly frozen and we woke up to snow on Easter Sunday!) So, we didn't get to utilize the porch nearly as much as we would have liked. But, in warmer weather, we're sure you would spend a lot of time there.
The bedrooms are nice and large. And, the downstairs also has plenty of space to spread out in. The only downside is that there is limited 'lounge around' seating. It would have been nice to have another couch or so. But, we made up for it in spending a lot of time at either the dining room or kitchen tables playing cards & other games.
We've stayed many places in the years that we've been visiting the Fingerlakes. And, this is definitely one of our favorites. And, the off season rate was just fantastic. We'll be back for sure!
Great girls weekend. This is not a typical small cottage, but a big beautiful home!! Even in the middle of a bad winter. House was very nice, clean and cozy. Driveway was slippery/snowy due to bad weather(understandably). I mixed up dates for the rental. Owner was VERY accommodating , and we were able to get dates we wanted.
A great rental for larger families too.
Our family of 5 & pups enjoyed this rental immensely. It is well stocked with everything you need. The front porch was a wonderful way to start your morning with a cup of coffee and then again at night to watch the sun set. The house was very clean. Water access was easy to get to. We rented kayaks & stand up paddle boards and the dogs frolicked in water. Close to wineries & breweries. It was a very relaxing week and I highly recommend this rental.
The lake is wonderful, the weather was fantastic and the many craft breweries made this a fabulous place to stay, I only wish we could have stayed for the whole summer!
