Overview

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4)

We chose this home specifically for its location. It is on the open water with a canal, and has expansive views of the water in a Tropical setting. The canal is 25 ft. deep x 30 ft. across and filled with thousands of fish, so when you want to relax, or play, you are already there.

From your shoreline, you can go fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, or kayaking. This area is known for its world class sport fishing. You are also centrally located to make a quick trip to Marathon or Key West.

Fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, and boating are all very popular. Looe Key is directly off the coast of Little Torch Key and is considered the best snorkel/dive site in the continental US. Or just dive out your front door and into the deep water canal that flows in front of the house.

Key West is a favorite destination for historical homes, shopping, beaches, and restaurants. Don't forget about Mallory Square, where crowds gather to watch the sunset, street entertainers, live music, and dancing. If you're still looking for more activities, you are not too far from the Middle and Upper Keys, which provide larger shops, gardens, golfing, dolphin programs, wildlife, etc...

Great family getaway

  • 4 of 5

Great value and a perfect location. Our 14 and 10 year old daughters loved it. We enjoyed snorkeling right in front of the house and kayaking. Lots to see including fish, lobster and crabs. We also saw a manatee. Also close to No Name Pub, Key West, Bahia Honda State Park and beach (beautiful!) and Looe Key for amazing snorkeling!

We stayed for the month of Feb. 2012. The location was great and the view was spectacular! The home was as described. It is close to Key West and Marathon. The Pine Island Restaurant has excellent home cooking, and is not to be missed. Our only real complaint, was that the guest room had a double bed which narrow and is not convenient if the guests are not a couple. We knew that going in so it was not a problem. We feel that two twins would be a better arrangement. That being said this home is in a spectacular location, off the beaten track and very well equipped. We would recommend it to anyone! Go, you will love it!

A December Vacation

  • 5 of 5

This rental was everything that we hoped it would be. We didn't want a condo but rather were looking for a stand-alone cottage on the water that was comfortable and equiped with the ammenities suited to our life style. The view of the Folorida Bay is fantastic and if you were to do nothing other than hang out on the deck all week, it would be worth it. The location is set away from the traffic of Rt 1, but close enough to get to restaurants and food shopping on Big Pine Key. The house was clean and comfortable. The owners obviously care for their home and take pride in it.

Paradise Found

  • 5 of 5

180 degree views, privacy, quiet, clean, everything as advertised and way more. Sunrise and sunsets every day right from your dock. Rest and relaxation the order of the day. Exciting night life only 25 miles either direction. Very spacious rooms. We found it especially well equipped, it even had plenty of pantry items already there for our use, we just left it with the same items we found when we came (coffee, trash liners, laundry detergent, etc). Owner was extremely attentive to our concerns and needs. We will definately be suggesting this place to all our friends. Fantastic. We stayed 4/2/2011 thru 4/9/2011 - 85 degrees and sunny! J&P

Our home is located in one of the most peaceful settings. It is a quiet neighborhood. And you won't hear the rumble of the road. And the view is the one everyone wishes they had. An unobstructed 180+ view of open water. You get to see the sunrise and sunset. Plus the light show of the light playing with the water. The canal is perfect for swimming. It is one of the cleanest canals in The Keys. that's because it is on open water. Which allows for the tides to clean it twice a day. Since it is so clean, the fish love it. So it is great for snorkeling. You will see hundreds or thousands of fish each time. Just beyond the canal are the flats which also afford a wonderful snorkel experience. the slower you go the more you see. Dolphins and Manatees can also be seen enjoying our open water. Fishing from the dock is quite fruitful. And a great activity to do all day, or for 10 minutes while you are waiting for your housemates to get ready. Cement Dock - If you want to pull up your own boat or a rental. It is a large 33 feet wide by 18 feet deep. So there is plenty of room for other activities. Or just fish from your shoreline. There are lots of fish. The Florida Keys are a wonderful. And our home allows easy access to all of them.
