About Tammy Burgemeister

We love to travel. We are in Santorini, Greece in this photograph. While our condo in Waikoloa is one of our favorite places to visit we do love to see other parts of the world too!

Bill & Tammy

Maui, Hawaii

Tammy Burgemeister purchased this condo in 2006

Why Tammy Burgemeister chose Kohala Coast

We chose to buy this condo because of it's location to golf and because it is a very peaceful area on the Big Island. The grounds are beautiful and very peaceful. Although we live on Maui it's nice to be able to get away and still be close to home. Our condo allows us to have several long relaxing weekends in a very lush place! It's like having a second home on another island.

What makes this condo unique

We are members of the Kings' Club and really enjoy the member golf rates as well as other benefits we receive as members. We are both avid golfers so the discounted golf rate is key for us. We also enjoy 'A Bay' beach for snorkeling and boogie boarding. When we are at our condo we feel as though we are staying in a five star hotel but have all the benefits and amenities of staying in a condo. We love cooking outdoors so having the wet bar & BBQ on the lanai is perfect for us. Being able to cook for ourselves saves a lot of money and we can have whatever we want. Comfort is very important to us. Some of our favorite amenities are the memory foam mattress in the master bed, the DVR, which allows us to be on vacation and never miss our favorite shows or sport events, and the HD TV's with HD service in the living room. The picture is amazing. The property has two beautiful pools with hot tubs and waterfalls and a fitness room that we enjoy using while we are there.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time. Last time we were on the Big Island we stayed at the Fairway Villas and saw these condos being built. They turned out really nice. Thanks for making your place available!

Great location, clean and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of four with a 3 year old and 10 month old. We found this condo to be just what we expected and very comfortable. It's a gated community which was relatively quiet and very well maintained. There are two almost identical pools, one at each end of the complex. They are great- refreshing in the morning and warmed by the sun in the afternoon. Our daughter enjoyed running around on the grassy area next to the Lanai in the mornings. You are close to everything. The Queen's market and the King's shops are both right next door. They put on shows everyday. The Kings highway trail is just through a hole in the hedge in the backyard. The Lava Lava Club and A-Bay are a short walk or drive away.

Almost everything you could need is provided: kitchen is fully equipped (even a coffee grinder) and stocked with essentials (spices, condiments, Tupperware and two small coolers to pack a lunch). There are beach towels, folding chairs, umbrellas, sand toys, floaties, boogie boards. A baby cot (but no high chair), and golf clubs. Full entertainment system but we didn't use it. The Wifi worked fine for us. The BBQ on the lanai is built in with a range hood.

Tammy was responsive to all of our questions and inquiries. Everything worked well. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful detailed review of our property! I'm happy to hear the Internet worked well for you during your stay. We had some troubles with it for a while and did some upgrades in hopes this would resolve the issues other guests had unfortunately experienced so thank you very much for including your internet experience in your review. I would also like to thank you for being such wonderful guests and thank you for everything you did prior to check out. Our housekeeper sent me an email letting me know how wonderful you guys were in leaving everything in such great condition!! Many mahalos Joelle! We hope to have you as our guests again someday. Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Just ended a month long stay and it was hard to leave. The condo is exactly as described with everything one could possibly need to enjoy the Big Island.

The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots/pans, Wok, and electric everything. Lots of glasses, towels, etc. We cooked in all but a few nights. The built in BBQ on the Lani is top grade and got a serious workout...we used it about 3-4 times a week.

Stocked up at Costco in Kona then resupplied from the grocery store up in Waikoloa Village. Used the Queens Marketplace mostly for emergency wine replacement. We had a few emergencies...

The master bedroom is large and the ensuite is more than you need. The second bedroom is fine as well.

Having a garage for our rental car was a huge bonus as well...we walked to the Queens Shops a lot as it's only a couple of hundred yards away...be careful on path thru the Lava

This is a very comfortable condo and the best thing is that it's very quiet. Street sounds are minamal and the neighbors are generally older adult...the pool rarely had more than a few people soaking up the sun.

Tammy is a wonderful hostess and we can't thank her enough for looking after us as she did...We're coming back

Terrific Stay

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 truly enjoyed a wonderful stay at this peaceful and quiet condo in Waikoloa. The unit was in a great location, convenient to shops and beach, and well maintained with all the comforts of home including a fantastic outdoor patio with built-in BBQ. We had a problem with the air conditioning and connected with Tammy, who was extremely helpful and friendly, and had the problem solved by the end of the day. We also took advantage of the golf discount which was a nice bonus. I would highly recommend this unit and we hope to be back! Thank you Tammy for letting us use your beautiful condo.

Great Stay in Waikoloa

  • 5 of 5

Condo is just as described, very well maintained, spotlessly clean and felt like a home away from home. BBQ on lanai was a great feature and the lanai itself felt very private.

The golf membership discount and clubs that come with the rental were great and came in handy. Tammy was super responsive to the one minor hiccup we had and had someone on-site immediately to tend to it. The only negative was there was some construction in the complex, which we didn't hear at all in the unit itself, but you could definitely hear it at the pool. This wasn't a big deal for us as we spent more time exploring the island and the beaches than we did in the pool area anyway.

All-in-all a great condo, with a really responsive owner, will definitely book again if we come back, it beat the hotel experience (we'd stayed in the Hilton right up the road in years past) by miles. Thanks Tammy!

Pretty good

  • 3 of 5

I inquired about early check-in 48 hours prior as per the rental agreement. Tammy responded saying she'd look into it, but I never heard back. Totally fine if it wasn't possible, but a response would have let us plan our day better. Was also a tad surprised not to hear from them to see if everything was alright after check-in or how the stay was after checkout.

The place is easy to find and super clean inside. There was a load of towels in the dryer that we discovered upon going to use it a couple days later, so maybe give that a check on arrival. The unit is easy walking distance to both the King's and Queen's shops but a bit of a hike to the beach, especially if you want to take any gear.

Development was undergoing some construction - across from the front door there's a huge pile of raw materials. An eyesore, but no loud noises. Pool area very nice with lots of chairs , but pool and hot tub are quite small.

This place is stocked extremely well with tons of beach stuff, golf clubs and every kitchen dish/appliance you can imagine. The back yard is quiet and very private and the barbecue is a great asset. The cleanliness and decor make the whole place feel pretty much brand new. The central air conditioning is a luxury. The master bathroom is spacious and fantastic, but the guest bathroom had very little shower pressure with most of the water leaking out the faucet.

The bed is very comfortable but the living room furniture is very uncomfortable.

We found internet access to be slower than what you'd find on an aircraft these days. No hope of streaming Netflix or downloading a movie, for instance. If your vacation includes any work, as mine did, you'll end up at Starbucks.

We were annoyed by the upstairs neighbour. You hear every footstep and, in our case, snoring at night. Ground floor unit is clearly disclosed in the description, but I didn't give it as much thought as I should have. We bought earplugs and it was fine. We aren't used to condo life, so perhaps our tolerance was too low.

Recommend the short drive up to Hapuna beach - better option than the closest beach. Also recommend grabbing the clubs and exploring other courses if you golf. The preferred rates at the close courses were appreciated, but the King's course wasn't nearly worth $85 - it was in very poor shape, lots of brown patches on fairways and greens. Municipal course quality with limited scenic views.

Overall: better value than a hotel but not the place for us.
