Description

Horsham Barn Rental Photos and Description

The Old Stables - a barn conversion that sleeps 4 guests in 1 bedroom

NEW - Nestled in the heart of Sussex The Old Stables is a beautiful and tranquil retreat away from the hustle and bustle of everyday. Set on Laybrook Farm (equestrian only) you are surrounded by green giving you a real country living experience.

Carefully refurbished this cottage has been sympathetically designed to accentuate The Barn's historic features. The washed down tall wall in the kitchen and dining room is quite a feature while opposite are bay windows the length of the room that open right out and onto the large garden, stream and fields beyond.

The kitchen and dining area as well as a great spot to enjoy your surroundings is fully equipped so you can self-cater effectively during your stay. The kitchen includes kettle, cafetiere, cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and washing machine.

Old Stables has one large double bedroom with an en suite but the cottage can easily accommodate four with the use of the sofa bed in the living room. (Please note en-suite would then need to be shared). The living room has seating for four on comfy sofas and arm chairs around a large flat screen television. There is seating for four and a breakfast bar for two in the kitchen area also.

Free Wifi is available at the cottage and there is plenty of parking at the front of the house. If you are travelling as a larger party there is a one bed studio room available to hire upstairs ( note - with its own front door). Great rural retreat.

Excellent location if you like a rural location for walking .The lady owners are very pleasant and in the morning you can see their horse being fed. The property is extremely nice .A large living area with leather sofas, a huge bright kitchen with both a table and breakfast bar. The bath is almost deep enough to swim in before sleeping in a very comfy (and large ) bed.

Thakeham is a small quintessential British village, its name meaning ‘thatched homestead' and used to actually be only one main street called ‘The Street'. Here you will find your local pub ‘The White Lion' and church. The nearest large town to you is the lovely Storrington only a few minutes' drive away. Storrington is a buzz of local cafes, restaurants and independent stores; you can easily waste away hours in the day taking in what the local stores have to offer. Storrington Museum is well worth a look as is nearby Parham Elizabethan House and Gardens.

Nearby towns and villages worth visiting are Haslemere, Pulborough and Arundel. Filled with independent stores, restaurants, antiques shops and markets this old town really does shine out in the local area. The cobbled streets of Arundel are riddled with history not to mention the enormous Castle watching over the town and grand gothic cathedral at the top of the hill running through the high street.

If you like what you see in Arundel you will definitely want to visit The Cathedral City of Chichester. Chichester offers a vast array of high street shops and restaurants, live theatre and two cinemas. Brighton and Portsmouth are easily accessible via the excellent train routes. Here you can explore the famous Spinnaker tower, old 'Spice Island' dockyards and from there you can even make your way to the Isle of White with a ticket to Ryde, by ferry, catamaran or hovercraft!

Goodwood is also just to the south and is the venue for two of the most famous sporting events in the U.K. - the Goodwood Revival and the Goodwood Festival of Speed, attracting visitors from all over the world.

The nearest train station to The Old Stables is only 10 minutes away Billingshurst which goes straight to Gatwick in 20 minutes and London Victoria in an hour.
