My wife and 2 kids came here for a baseball tournament at Sports on the Beach. We were very happy with this place. It was much bigger than the photos make you think, very close to both the beach and the baseball tourny and extremely confortable. We highly recommend it and would stay here again if in the area.
Great property to stay at - clean, nice amenities, great location. Would stay there again.
What a wonderful place to stay. We travelled to the Rehoboth area with our 2 daughters (20 & 23) and our dog. We loved the fact that we were so close to everything! The shopping and the local area beaches were just minutes away. We enjoyed dinner at Cilantro in Rehoboth Beach one evening to celebrate my 50th birthday. The outlet shopping - to die for. We all went home with many goodies and probably spent way too much money. The condo was so comfortable and inviting. I absolutely loved the kitchen - everything you needed was within steps of each other. We loved the pet supplies closet (I think we left one of Cassie's dishes behind) and she even tried out the doggie bed that you had. She was a little to big for it, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. My girls really liked having their own room and there was wifi (a big plus for the young ladies). The cable for the TV had all our favorite stations so everyone was happy. I really liked to secret passage behind the laundry room. The sun deck and porch were also a great plus. We had a blast and hope to be back for a full week in the near future! Thank you for making our stay so comfortable.
My mother and I have stayed here for the last several years while we attend an event in nearby Dewey Beach. I love the spacious and well-equipped condo. Having three bedrooms (each with cable TV) and two bathrooms makes the stay so much nicer than a cramped hotel room. The elevator is convenient too. The owner has gone out of her way to ensure almost everything you could possibly need is available for use -- from pots and pans to beach chairs. I really love the sun porch and balcony for quiet reading times. There are many books, games, and DVDs to enjoy during your stay.
The property is always clean and well-kept. Linens are provided, as is hand and dish soap. There is a full sized washer and dryer as well.
The owner, Evelyn, has been a pleasure to work with. She is super-responsive when reserving the unit and has always returned the security deposit quickly. I had to call her a couple of times over the years when something happened (a problem with the high-speed internet and a plumbing issue) and she was pleasant and handled things quickly.
The location is superb. It is on a quiet dead-end street, but just blocks from a grocery store and several outlets. There are places to walk dogs and just enjoy some fresh air. I've never been there when the pool is open, but it is conveniently located. The Wawa market just up the road is always busy, but it is open 24 hours and is a good source for quick meals and coffee.
You really can't go wrong with this condo if you want a clean, pleasant place to stay.
We spent 4 nights here between Christmas and New Years. Lewes is our favorite summer vacation spot with our extended family and usually stay in Cape Shores. We were looking for someplace smaller as it would only be 4 of us (me, husband, and 2 kids 13 and 10) and we wanted to bring Rosie, our Golden Retriever. Evelyn's place was perfect!
The size was just right, the location was central to everything, the condo was clean and well-appointed and Rosie loved chasing the ducks that live on the pond out back. We'd never been to Lewes/Rehoboth in the winter and will not hesitate to return. We had wonderful meals at Agave in Lewes (minus the 3 hour wait you get in the summer), Big Fish and Henlopen City Oyster House. We walked the beach one day, found lots of cool shells and sea glass and Rosie enjoyed romping in the sand. We watched movies and played board games, both of which we brought with us but didn't need to since there were tons available at the condo. In all, had a wonderful time just relaxing as a family after a particularly busy and stressful year. We're already planning next winter's trip! Thanks!
This condo is in a building just off of Route 1, and only about 10 minutes drive to Lewes Beach, 15 minutes to the beach at Cape Henlopen, and for those who have to shop, just minutes from a plethora of outlets as well. The parking is plentiful, and the condo entrance is only about 8 steps from the elevator (so easy to unpack after a long drive!).
You enter into a vestibule complete with a boot tray for sandy or wet shoes, a coat closet, and a thoughtfully provided umbrella for rainy trips to the car.
A few steps later is a bedroom on either side of the hallway, then a nice-sized bathroom on the left (which also has a connecting door to the bedroom on the left). To the right, the kitchen opens up with a peninsula dividing it from the open dining/ living area. The master bedroom, with a large adjoining bath, is on the left (we've previously rented places with bathrooms the size of the attached walk-in closet!).
At the far end of the living room a tile-floored sunporch (accessed by a sliding glass/ screen door), with lots of windows, looks over a small pond. Both the sunporch and the master bedroom open up to a small balcony.
All rooms are furnished comfortably and were very clean. I would have loved to sit on the sunporch and read, but it was just too chilly when we were there. :)
The kitchen (there is a small and efficient laundry room across the hall) is bright and spacious and well-equipped. I would suggest to the Owner the addition of a set of mixing bowls for pancake batter, scrambling eggs, etc. but I found some serving bowls that did the job well enough. And I loved the small labels on cabinets describing their contents-- it not only appealed to the OCD in me, but made it very easy to maneuver around an unfamiliar kitchen while making meals.
Television had lots of cable channels for my husband, and I enjoyed the fast wifi connection on my laptop. There is also a good selection of games and books.
Our favorite restaurants in the area are Agave, Striper Bites, and an Italian trattoria across the street from Striper Bites, all located in Lewes. Go Brit, located near this condo, has good fish & chips. Cape Henlopen State Park has paved bike trails (and bike rentals, I think that they are free although we bring our own), a very interesting nature center, and awesome beaches and views of both the ocean and bay.
This was a perfect condo AND area for us to stay in, and we would highly recommend it to anyone.
