Acadia National Park and all that Bar Harbor has to offer are within walking distance. The well equipped kitchen which opens to a large backyard, spacious dining room, and living room, equipped with 42 in flat screen T.V.,VCR/DVD, stereo, card and board games are on the first floor. Upstairs has 3 bedrooms, 2 with queen beds, one with 2 twin beds, bathroom, plus a youth room with a pack and play. In the backyard relax as you watch the children play, or enjoy a game of badminton, fire up the gas grill for a cookout and enjoy your lobster dinner in the fresh salt air. After dinner walk two block to listen to a concert in the Village Green or browse the many shops and boutiques, another two blocks to watch the sunset over the ocean before coming home to tuck in to rest up for another day of relaxation and adventure.

Acadia Escape remodeled in 2008 : We have done lots of updates to our recently purchased home. All windows and doors have been replaced with energy efficient low e glass. An energy efficient furnace was also installed this year to help with green house gases and for your comfort. The electrical system has also been completely updated to all safety codes including smoke detectors in every room for your safety. In the bathroom the tub/shower enclosure has been newly tiled. The hardwood floors in the living area and the California pine floors on the entire second floor have all been sanded and refinished. As have all the original wood doors.

2012 we have upgraded, we have put a 42 inch HDTV and new pull out couch in the living area, also new carpet in dining room and new flooring in the bathroom.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time staying here. We walked to the Island Explorer bus and rode around the Island. We visited Jordan Pond House and had popovers and blueberry crisp yum. We cooked lobsters and ate in the backyard. Thanks for a great house and so many conveniences.

Location, location, location

  • 5 of 5

My family of five spent a week at Acadia Escape, our first trip to the area, and we could not have been happier with the location. We found tons to do, all within walking distance: restaurants, shops, trails, boat trips, etc... The house is supplied with everything necessary and we found the street and neighborhood to be very quiet. Maryellen even greeted us upon our arrival and had some wonderful suggestions on some activities to check out. Overall, a great vacation, and the kids are already asking to go back!

Perfect location!

  • 4 of 5

Acadia Escape was exactly what my family needed. We were able to spread out in 3 bedrooms, very helpful for a family of 5. The property was clean, and the kitchen had everything we could want. The owners left us maps and books about the area, and handled questions promptly. Driveway parking was a real plus, as Bar Harbor gets very crowded in the summer. Our teens loved the independence of being able to walk to ice cream. The only slight inconvenience was having to walk upstairs each time to use the single restroom. Other than that, we loved Acadia Escape.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I spent a week at Acadia Escape in mid May. We were very pleased with the close proximity to the restaurants and shops in Bar Harbor as well as Acadia National Park. We hiked or walked in the park every day then could come back and walk to dinner if we didn't feel like cooking. Although you could eat every meal in, as the kitchen was well stocked for any type of meal you'd want to prepare. Augie and Maryellen were very helpful with any questions or problems we encountered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone who wants to be close to the attractions in Bar Harbor without being right in the midst of the fray.

Wonderful home to spend our vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks at Acadia Escape. Maryellen and Augie were fantastic. Great communication and are only a stone's throw away should you need them.

We brought our family with us for the first week which included 2 small children and they could not have been happier here.

We rode our bikes most days to town; it provided for great exercise and just made our whole time there perfect.

The street was very quiet for the most part and not bothered by the many visitors to Bar Harbor. We had plenty of parking for our car, 4 bikes and a very long truck. Room to spare.

Perfect house, perfect size and perfect hosts! We will stay again!

Comfortable and well equipped

  • 5 of 5

A lovely house only a few streets away from the harbour, shops and restaurants; we couldn't have asked for a better location.

Maryellen was very welcoming and provided everything visitors need to make their stay comfortable. We made good use of the lobster plates, crackers and butter bowls.

If you're looking for comfort and a central location in Bar Harbor, this is the place to stay.

We arrived with two young children during a cold and snowy March. The house and owners could not have been more welcoming. We had two cleared spots for parking and a toasty, comfy home. The house is spacious and very child friendly. We had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. We were able to feed eight at the dining room table. There were even enough wine glasses!

Many thanks to the Lozanos!!
