Why Maryellen/August Lozano chose Bar Harbor

We are located on a one way downtown residential street, so it is quiet yet we are one to two blocks of the main street with the restuarants and shops. We are one block from the island shuttle bus, so you can park in our driveway space for 3 cars and walk to everything. We have a bike rack for you to lock bikes, a large backyard, big grill and a table and with 6 chairs to enjoy meals outside. We also have a very well stocked kichen for you.

What makes this house unique

The house has plenty of space for your family to spread out and enjoy. We also have loads of information brochures, maps, menus in the house so you can plan your activities. We have lots of games availale also.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great time staying here. We walked to the Island Explorer bus and rode around the Island. We visited Jordan Pond House and had popovers and blueberry crisp yum. We cooked lobsters and ate in the backyard. Thanks for a great house and so many conveniences.

Perfect location and spacious

  • 5 of 5

My mom, sister, and I loved our 7 days at this rental. We walked everywhere. It was everything we needed as a home base for hiking in Acadia, walking around Bar Harbor, and lounging at night.

Really great location in the heart of Bar Harbor

  • 5 of 5

This was an extremely clean, well appointed house right a couple of streets away from the downtown. It might be a bit noisy in the middle of the summer, but for the fall it was fine.

Owner's Response: We are pleased you enjoyed your stay, we are right in the downtown area. We are on a one way residental street so we are quiet in the summer also, but 1 block away is the main streets with shops and restuarants to enjoy. Hope you can stay with us again.

Spotlessly Clean and Convenient to Everything

  • 4 of 5

There were just two of us, so this 3 bedroom plus nursery gave us plenty of room. The house is well furnished, as is the kitchen. It is quiet. My 'white sock' test (wearing white socks when in the house) showed that this place was really clean.

It is a short walk to the main drag and everything in Bar Harbor is walkable. We left the car in the driveway (off-street parking!) unless we were leaving the area. The free bus shuttles to Acadia National Park were a marvel.

The only thing keeping the rating at 4 stars was the bed. The mattress was OK, but the bed clothes did not suit us.

Owner's Response: Thank you for such a nice review. We do try to make sure you have clean home with everything you need for your stay. We received the e-mail explaining the bed clothes, but we do have waterproof mattress covers on all of the beds to protect them, We would love for you to stay with us again.

Close to the heart of Bar Harbor

  • 5 of 5

The home is well-maintained and comfortable. It is only 2 blocks from the Village Green were you can catch the "Island Expolorer" or visit the town of Bar Harbor. Off street parking was nice for our rental car since there were usually other cars on the street in front of the home. The area is quiet, so sleeping was easy. It probably would be a little hot in the summer, as others mention, but in September, even with 80-degree F days, it was't bad. The space was great for a couple...plenty of room to spread out. The home owner stopped by the first evening to make sure everything was okay and called after we left to say thanks. We would likely stay here should we find ourselves in Bar Harbor, again.

great vacation--we'd use again

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Acadia Escape for the second year running and had a great time. It was perfect for our family. A five minute walk to the village green in the middle of Bar Harbor, shuttle buses and all the ice cream your kids are going to talk you into eating, it is clean and well appointed. It feels homier than some of the rental properties we've stayed at before which are fancier but feel more resortish. Mary Ellen and Augie were great hosts, responsive but not in the way. We loved it. With three small kids, having a full kitchen and grill to prepare meals saved a lot of time, tears and money, particularly at dinner where you can easily wait 45 minutes for an overpriced meal at downtown restaurants.

Great location, has everything you need!

  • 4 of 5

We had a fantastic week in Bar Harbor and the Acadia Escape worked out great for us. The location cannot be beat. Short walk to all the shops and the harbor. Short walk to the shuttle that takes you all over Acadia. We are a family of six, and although we only had one car, we were able to split up some days due to the proximity to down town and to the shuttles. Property is very clean and comfortable. Outdoor grill and patio worked out great for us. All the amenties you need from plenty of towels, to laundry, to coolers, and tons of brochures, info, and maps of the island. We had a great time!
