Coconut Point is a spectacular Atlantic oceanfront home (built in 2007) on the Bahamian out-island
of Eleuthera. It is located in the center of the island on the pristine pink sand beaches of Double
Bay. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, a
screened-in ocean-view porch and great room with kitchen and dining area. The great room features 5 sets of french doors accessing the porch and looking out to the azure waters of the Atlantic. The house is large
enough to sleep 8 to 10 people comfortably.
*Watch the sunrise over the sparkling Atlantic and the sunset over the lush palm forest
*Only steps away from the secluded beach
*Features a screened porch, covered front and back porches and 3 decks
*Ocean views from all bedrooms, great room, kitchen, master bath and screened porch
We had a great time at your home. It was better than the pictures on your website! You have a great place and we are already thinking about when we can return.
Our family of four (two sons ages 10 and 12) absolutely loved staying at Coconut Point. The weather was perfect. Never too hot or cold. We loved that the house was off the beaten path, but at the same time we were close to grocery stores and restaurants. The house is extremely comfortable and very beautiful. The view from the house and the beach right in front of the house is breathtaking. We usually had the beach all to ourselves. John the caretaker was always available if we needed anything. Because of the central location of Coconut Point on Eleuthera, we were able to explore to the south and to the north very easily in our rental car and so we were able to enjoy many different beaches and towns around Eleuthera. We have traveled in Belize and Costa Rica and have stayed in beautiful places- Coconut Point is right up at the top of the list!
The house and setting were gorgeous. Ocean views were incredible. House was nicer than the photos indicated. We didn't spend much time outside though due to strong winds 24/7 our entire stay. We spent time at Ten Bay instead. Next time we will rent on the calm side of Eleuthera.
If you want to cook at the house, bring frozen meat/food. Groceries are exorbitant on this island. The house doesn't have water filtration so bottled water is necessary (@$14 case!). If you spend more than 2 days at the house, you will need to restock your paper products. Not a negative, just information.
We rent beach houses several times a year. This was the best designed house we have ever rented.
Located on Double Bay - you look down at the beach from a short hillside accessible by wooden stairs. Though a coral shelf in the water in front of the house makes it difficult to swim right there- just a quick walk to the right and the "point" opens up and you then have 2 miles of open water access and the long walking beach continues. House is on the Atlantic side and can be windy in March, if too breezy, a quick 2 miles out the drive & neighborhood road to the Queen's highway, turn south and drive .7 to entrance to Ten Bay on Caribbean side - 1 mile drive into tiny parking area and you'll find calm waters. My husband a kite sailor -had enough wind he could sail a few days on each side of the island. Easier launch on Double Bay.House was nicely appointed and kitchen had a good selection of pans and wonderful knives, which we appreciate with a chef in the family. We did not use the grill or laundry but they were available. The house was very comfortable and no need for AC during our dates. The location was convenient to shop in Governor's Harbor or South Palmetto - enjoyed close access to Island Farm Produce and could recycle boxed clear glass there. Coconut Point's bedding comfortable. Access to beach chairs was super ! After family dinners, we played games or cards in the evenings, since we had seen so many of the movies provided. We loved our evening star gazing and milky way viewing/always a treat in Eleuthera. Hope to return again. Thanks Karen & family for sharing your dream home.
Everything that you need is there. Great views! Would stay there again. Loved having the kayaks. Could not be without them around here. Always go to the two islands. Screened porch is wonderful. Loved the hot water on outside shower
Coconut Point was a wonderful property to enjoy our first trip to Eleuthera. Coconut Point is centrally located which makes exploring the long island of Eleuthera very easy as it's an hour to each end of the island from the house. We flew into North Eleuthera airport which was about a 55min drive. Governor's Harbor airport is only about 15-20min from Coconut Point.
We were immediately impressed with the grand staircase entry, magnificent ocean views and high ceilings. Just steps away from the deck is a nearly deserted beach that stretches for a couple of miles. Immediately in from of Coconut Point is kind of rocky but just a few yards to the south was a perfect spot for our kids (7,11,14) to swim and snorkel. They also enjoyed playing in the tide pools.
There was a constant breeze which kept house very cool and comfortable. I don't think we needed to turn on the air more than a couple of times. A note of advice, when the breeze does disappear the sand flies (noseeums) show up. Save yourself some itching and use bugspray. My wife and youngest really got eaten-we wish we had heeded Karen's instructions on this. Bring bug spray and afterbite.
John the caretaker was very helpful and checked up on us during the week as well has made himself available via cell/text.
We really enjoyed our time at Coconut Point. It's quiet and kind of secluded (just what we look for in our Bahamian vacations) yet modern and extremely clean. There are plenty of linens as well as life jackets, snorkel gear, and kayaks (never got to use them). Although the Double Bay Beach was great we got to see several of the other nearby beaches as well as explore the abandoned Navy base and Club Med. Governor's Harbor is 15 minutes away where there is grocery shopping, restaurants, and gift shops. Rock Sound Market, 45min south, had the best grocery selection.
We're trying to experience as many of the Bahamian out islands as we can but when we make it back to Eluethera we would certainly stay at Coconut Point again. Thanks for the great time!
We really enjoyed our stay at Coconut Point. The home has a lovely stately charm. One of our favorite things to do is to just sit under the tiki hut, relax, and gaze upon the pink sand beach and the turquoise water. This was our second stay at Coconut Point and we look forward to the possibility of returning.
Coconut Point is located on Double Bay, a gorgeous 3-mile stretch of pink sand beach, on Eleuthera. Eleuthera is a small island in the Bahamas that is located due east of New Providence (Nassau). At 100
miles long and a mere two miles wide, Eleuthera effortlessly keeps travelers near its secluded pink-
and white-sand beaches. Together with Harbour Island, Eleuthera charms travelers with colonial
villages and pineapple plantations.
The Out Island of Eleuthera is known for its gorgeous beaches and friendly people. Out Islands are the
most remote in the Bahamas archipelago of islands. But please don't confuse being secluded with
being sleepy. The Out Islands are home to some of the world's most stunning beaches, dive sites, and
fishing sites. So you can be as relaxed or as active as the day allows. Come stay at Coconut Point and
