Coconut Point is located on Double Bay, a gorgeous 3-mile stretch of pink sand beach, on Eleuthera. Eleuthera is a small island in the Bahamas that is located due east of New Providence (Nassau). At 100

miles long and a mere two miles wide, Eleuthera effortlessly keeps travelers near its secluded pink-

and white-sand beaches. Together with Harbour Island, Eleuthera charms travelers with colonial

villages and pineapple plantations.

The Out Island of Eleuthera is known for its gorgeous beaches and friendly people. Out Islands are the

most remote in the Bahamas archipelago of islands. But please don't confuse being secluded with

being sleepy. The Out Islands are home to some of the world's most stunning beaches, dive sites, and

fishing sites. So you can be as relaxed or as active as the day allows. Come stay at Coconut Point and

experience paradise!

Perfect Location! Beautiful Home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (two sons ages 10 and 12) absolutely loved staying at Coconut Point. The weather was perfect. Never too hot or cold. We loved that the house was off the beaten path, but at the same time we were close to grocery stores and restaurants. The house is extremely comfortable and very beautiful. The view from the house and the beach right in front of the house is breathtaking. We usually had the beach all to ourselves. John the caretaker was always available if we needed anything. Because of the central location of Coconut Point on Eleuthera, we were able to explore to the south and to the north very easily in our rental car and so we were able to enjoy many different beaches and towns around Eleuthera. We have traveled in Belize and Costa Rica and have stayed in beautiful places- Coconut Point is right up at the top of the list!

Pictures as not as they seem

  • 5 of 5

I like to give full reviews - so here goes!

This house was an absolute joy! I hate to say it but the this house needs a professional to take the photos for the VRBO ad, because this house was sooooooo much nicer than the pictures perceive. The master over looks the ocean, and the master shower was HUGE! Dark detailed interior wood work on the ceiling, fantastic bar and kitchen. The beach is just under your house deck with beautiful views. Fantastic! If the Atlantic side is a little ruff, roll down the main road 2 miles and hit the opposite side of the island for calmer waters. They rotate wave action throughout the year.

Negatives - Bring toilet paper LOL!!!

The cleaning crew needs to be a little more precise to cleaning detail(Easy fix)

Internet...Had to unplug it a couple of times but fired right back up each time. (very simple)

Rear bushes a little too tall to see over when sitting on the deck. (Another easy fix)

The sun with all it's glory shines in the back window telling you to rise and shine. I liked it, but the wife likes to sleep in. Window pull curtain shades would do it good. We used two towels and it worked just fine :-)

My Suggestions on what to bring other than what is supplied?

The TV runs only DVD's so bring a few of your favorites.(The house had many DVD's already)

Pay the airlines $25 for and extra suitcase to take on your plane flight, and bring 49lbs of snacks and dry foods. The food on the island is expensive (not the houses fault :-)

Pack frozen meat (yes it is allowed) in cooler as your carry on for the plane. The house has a great gas grill on the back deck and many pot/pans to use. Did I say the grocery stores are expensive yet? LOL!

Would I stay in it again? ABSOLUTELY YES!

This place is a rock star in my book!

We are looking at our next trip and pray this house is available!

Worth the money - The time - The memories :-)

Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on Coconut Point! We are happy you enjoyed your stay in our home and look forward to welcoming you back anytime. P.S. - The house should (and typically is) always be stocked with toilet paper, so we will make sure we address this with the caretaker and cleaning lady. Thanks for letting us know.

Pink Sand Paradise

  • 5 of 5

We had the best time, ever! (Again) This was our third visit to Coconut Point and we couldn't have had a more enjoyable time! The house is warm and comfortable, the views are amazing and the time we spent together with minimal distractions was priceless. It was nice to be there in June with a wonderful breeze off of the ocean, it kept the bugs to a minimum. We enjoyed sitting on the deck for breakfasts and lunches, even a Kalik in the afternoon after kayaking, spear fishing, and snorkeling! We had a couple of really nice dinners at the French Leave and Tippy's. The only rotten thing about Coconut Point? We had to leave!!

Beautiful but WINDY

  • 5 of 5

The house and setting were gorgeous. Ocean views were incredible. House was nicer than the photos indicated. We didn't spend much time outside though due to strong winds 24/7 our entire stay. We spent time at Ten Bay instead. Next time we will rent on the calm side of Eleuthera.

If you want to cook at the house, bring frozen meat/food. Groceries are exorbitant on this island. The house doesn't have water filtration so bottled water is necessary (@$14 case!). If you spend more than 2 days at the house, you will need to restock your paper products. Not a negative, just information.

We rent beach houses several times a year. This was the best designed house we have ever rented.

Owner's Response: We are happy you enjoyed our home! Unfortunately, weather is always never know which side of the island will have the wind/rougher seas. Hopefully it will be better on your next visit. Thank you for posting a review.

Lovely time at Coconut Point

  • 5 of 5

Located on Double Bay - you look down at the beach from a short hillside accessible by wooden stairs. Though a coral shelf in the water in front of the house makes it difficult to swim right there- just a quick walk to the right and the "point" opens up and you then have 2 miles of open water access and the long walking beach continues. House is on the Atlantic side and can be windy in March, if too breezy, a quick 2 miles out the drive & neighborhood road to the Queen's highway, turn south and drive .7 to entrance to Ten Bay on Caribbean side - 1 mile drive into tiny parking area and you'll find calm waters. My husband a kite sailor -had enough wind he could sail a few days on each side of the island. Easier launch on Double Bay.House was nicely appointed and kitchen had a good selection of pans and wonderful knives, which we appreciate with a chef in the family. We did not use the grill or laundry but they were available. The house was very comfortable and no need for AC during our dates. The location was convenient to shop in Governor's Harbor or South Palmetto - enjoyed close access to Island Farm Produce and could recycle boxed clear glass there. Coconut Point's bedding comfortable. Access to beach chairs was super ! After family dinners, we played games or cards in the evenings, since we had seen so many of the movies provided. We loved our evening star gazing and milky way viewing/always a treat in Eleuthera. Hope to return again. Thanks Karen & family for sharing your dream home.
