Our alpine family farm house, La Grange, is part of a large historic barn. It is located in a sunny south facing position at the foot of the slopes.

The house has a large living room/dining room seating 6. There is a log burner and logs are included. The kitchen is modern and well equipped. There are two twin and one double bedroom providing beds for 6 people. Downstairs is a shower room and wc with the main bathroom and wc upstairs. Outside is a sunny terrace with wonderful views. In the Summer this great place to have a BBQ.

La Grange is located in Maison Neuve, one of Sixt's 24 Hamlets. The house is 15 minutes walk from the village centre which has a small supermarket, a bakery, tourist office and a handful of bars and restaurants.

Sixt is a French classified historic village. In winter it is linked to the Grand Massif ski area by the 14km Cascades blue run which runs all the way from the top of Flaine. Nordic skiing runs through the village as well as snow shoe trails.

The Vagnys ski lift, 400m, away can be reached from the house on ski. The Salvagny lifts 300m away can be reached on foot.

A shuttle bus links Sixt Fer A Cheval with the Grand Massif Express at Samoens.

During the summer the village of Sixt is a centre for mountain pursuits. The high season runs from the start of July to the end of August. Many lifts open including the Vagnys lift close to La Grange, providing access to high routes for hikers and mountain bikers.

La Grange is 10 minutes drive from the famous Fer a Cheval Cirque walk with stunning views along a river side walk. It is also 10 minutes drive from the historic town of Samoens, which has a botanic garden, historic buildings, outdoor swimming complex and rope park. Samoens has a good variety restaurants and bars and a weekly market.

La Grange is within an hours drive of the historic lakeside town of Annecy and the beautiful mountain resort of Chamonix. It is also an hours drive to the Mont Blanc tunnel which takes you through to the Italian lakes, Milan or the coast.

Refundable damage deposit $323.62
Stay tax $0.65 per night, per person. This amount will be due to the manager upon arrival. Does not apply to children under 1 years.

A 25% deposit is to be made on booking. The balance is required 8 weeks before the holiday. Payment by bank transfer. We ask for a £250 deposit against damages.
The accommodation is available on arrival day from 4pm - 7pm through to 10am on the day of departure.
Change over day is a Saturday.

Stay Tax or Taxe de Sejour is collected on arrival and is 30€. (which equates to £22 or .50p per person per night.

Cancellation Policy:
Deposit is non-refundable and cancellation only possible if the week can be re-let and then any refund is less any cost incurred and discount needed to re-let the week.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
