This beautiful apartment (" Le Pied-à-Terre") has just been completely renovated (April 2015), combining period features with all modern conveniences. The high ceilings with the old, exposed wooden beams, the wooden floors and the black and white marble in the bathrooms make it truly magical, giving you a true Parisian feeling.
It is located between two courtyards, on the second floor of an 17th century house in the heart of the Marais, making it very quiet and even allowing you to sleep with open windows.
The apartment's layout and its size (75 square meter/800 square foot) will provide you with ample space to relax and to enjoy your own privacy. Ideally suited for two couples or a family with children, the two bedrooms sleep 4 guests comfortably. One bedroom has a four poster, king size bed, whilst the other has 2 single beds with unique bed-stands (all mattresses are new) . The finest Egyptian cotton linen has been chosen for your comfort and pleasure. Both have their own bathrooms (one en-suite), equipped with 1940's style fittings, black and white Carrara marble floors and Parisian Metro tiles. There is also a separate toilet. High quality face, hand and bath towels are provided. Each bedroom has got a powerful avant-garde silent Dyson (AM08) air cooler.
The sitting room is very large and has a mock fire place with many candles, antiques, modern art, leather chairs and a designer sofa, dim-able lights - a perfect place to relax before or after exploring Paris. The chef's kitchen has been designed and equipped to enable you to cook a wonderful meal. It has a lovely, large white Carrara marble work area and faces the dining area which has a stunning 19th century wooden table which can sit up to six guests. A large Freud retro style fan is at your disposal.

This property is located in the heart of the Marais, the most vibrant arrondissement of Paris, in walking distance from many attractions like the Centre Pompidou, the Picasso Museum, Place de Voges and even Notre Dame. The neighbourhood boosts many nice restaurants/brasseries, organic stores, patisseries and the flat is only 5-10 minutes walk away from the famous covered food market "Les Enfants Rouges" were you can buy organic fruit and vegetables, lovely fish and great French cheese.
The closest Metro station is Arts-et-Metiers 5 minutes away from Pied-a-Terre and buses and Velibs (bicycles that can be rented daily or weekly and are a great way to explore Paris) are close by. However, given Le Pied-à-Terre's central location you will most likely explore Paris on foot. The airports and the main train stations can easily be reached by public transport or by taxi and you will receive all information you need when you book the apartment. A manager will welcome you, show you around the property, give you the keys and provide you with valuable tips. He is of course available in case of emergency or for any questions you may have.
For guests who would like to come with a car, the nearest parking is located less than 150 meters from the flat and is called: "Parking Temple Alizés". Should you wish to book in advance, you get discounts using this website - http://www.parkingsdeparis.com/

As a child, I lived in Versailles and Paris was the city of my dreams. When I finally moved to Paris I loved exploring and savouring this wonderful and vibrant city. I always wanted to own a traditional Parisian apartment in the city centre.
My dream came true in 2004 when I purchased this property whilst living in London. I enjoyed visiting Paris regularly and staying in my apartment.
I decided to renovate the property totally and to give other people the chance to share my passion for this incredible city. Having said that, I love the apartment so much that I often visit and stay in it myself.
Ivan purchased this apartment in 2004
The combination of 17th century Parisian charm, antique furniture, exposed beams, all modern comforts, the location, right in the heart of the Marais ,and the fact that it is incredibly quiet make the apartment unique.
The kitchen has been designed an fitted to satisfy any hobby cook and the proximity to food markets and typically French food stores make it very easy to prepare lovely meals.
Being in walking distant from so many major tourist sites and being surrounded by wonderful places where one can eat and drink without having to use public transport makes it a perfect base for a short visit or a long stay.
The manager, who lives in the same building, will take good care of you ensuring that you receive the best customer service and, as a local, he can give you wonderful recommendations.
Totally refurbished; incredibly quiet - sleep with your windows open in the summer! Central location
We loved the apartment! The design and stylish elements of the apartment were a joy to come home to after full days walking around. It is so comfortable and lovely and fitted with quality linens and towels as well. The location was perfect- we loved being so close to the amazing specialty food shops and the fun flea market finds at Marche des Enfants Rouges. After eating rich pastries for breakfast and lots of wine and cheese it was a perfect to be around the corner from some authentic amazing asian noodle spots for something light. We used Uber to get to places farther out and the car was always just a minute or two wait. The safety of the building is a plus and it is so quiet. We would definitely return - I have nothing to add that could have made it a better place to stay! Ivan and Thierry are quick to respond and helpful. It was a pleasure!
Every time I return to Pied a terre (this is already my 3rd stay!!!) it feels like returning home and I am once again a Parisian. Only that every time I return, the apartment seems to have been improved even further, not that there was any need at all. I love the new sofa and the beautiful new antique Persian rug in the sitting room. The two new retro wall lights in the entrance and dining room are just perfect. To be frank, I wish my house was that nice (I could spend all day in those comfortable beds and shower for hours) and homey.
The new vegan pizza restaurant/take away and the organic juice and food place located just a few steps from the apartment are very handy and tasty. The Marais remains my favourite arrondissement of Paris. Do visit the recently resorted Picasso museum which is in walking distance.
Ivan, the owner and Thierry, the manager have once again been very helpful and they have made my stay truly wonderful.
It is difficult to put into a few words how wonderful it was to have Pied-A-Terre to have as our home base for our stay in Paris. It is central and amazingly quiet. The apartment is large (by any standards but especially by Paris standards). Extremely well fitted out both in the kitchen and in the bedrooms/bathrooms. We walked everywhere from here even though incredible convenient for many metro subway stops. Ivan and Thierry were both excellent in communicating about the accommodations and Thierry was very kind to let arrive earlier in the day so that we could make a guided tour of the Musee d'Orsay that had booked for 4 pm. Would without hesitation recommend this more than charming apartment to anybody. Ivan and Thierry once again many thanks. Jeff Mendelsohn
Ivan's flat was perfect for our family of 4 (4 adults). The living, dining and kitchen areas were very spacious and although we didn't do any cooking, the kitchen was well stocked. We appreciated being welcomed with the smell of beautiful flowers and champagne. The 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms worked really well so that we didn't get in each other's way. The fluffy towels and crisp bed linens are things one might get with a high end hotel. The flat is full of character and makes one feel that one has indeed landed in Paris.
The flat's location is in a safe area of the Marais. Although the metro is very near, we chose to walk most of the time. The flat is very central and one can easily walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre and the rest of the Marais sights. As the flat was in the inner courtyard, it was very quiet at night.
We appreciated Ivan's responsiveness to our questions as we deliberated on whether or not to book his flat. We are happy that we did! A big thank you to Monica and Thierry, the property managers, as they were very accommodating of our requests and are very professional to deal with. Overall, we would highly recommend this peaceful oasis in the centre of Paris.
We traveled to Paris for the first time as two couples for a 5 day visit to this amazing city. We had so much help from this owner, who helped us change our itinerary when we realized our dates were one day off. He promptly responded to all questions. The Pied a terre was PERFECT for two couples. The unit is beautifully and completed appointed with all you could need for the stay. The house manager was there to greet us and walked us through the unit, how to use the appliance (washer/dryer combo, worked great), and was so warm in her welcome. The location of the unit was terrific, walking distance to many of the major attractions (Notre Dame, St Chapelle, Musee d'Orsay, etc) and in the heart of historic old Paris. As you can see from the photos, the unit is restored to capture the age of the building while updated so elegantly for today's comfort. Both bathrooms were great, we could not have been more delighted. We would definitely hope to stay here again when we come back to this fabulous city. Thanks Ivan!
The apartment was lovely and had everything we needed, but not crazy about the neighborhood. First, it's in a building where all windows are on the courtyard and face (very closely) other apartment windows. No sense of privacy whatsoever. We kept the curtains closed most of the time. That might not be a bad thing if you're used to it. I guess I'm getting too old for that kind of situation!
Apartment itself is beautiful. The street, not so much. if you don't mind the street, it is conveniently located and only about 5-6 minute walk to the Arts and Metiers metro stop. It is a good value for a two bedroom/two bath apartment.
The owner is lovely and was great about communicating with us. He has a small agency handling the greetings, so you probably won't meet him. I was a bit put off by the greeter. We had some confusion about our arrival so she was two hours late. That wasn't her fault, but she kept complaining about the owner, which I found to be very unprofessional.
This property is located 5-10 minutes on foot from various museums like the Picasso museum and the Pompidou centre. It is in the heart of the Marais, which has many exiting boutiques, galleries, restaurants and bars. The Seine, Notre Dame and even the Louvre are in walking distance.
The famous covert food market "Enfants Rouges" is around 5 walk minutes away.
There are 3 "Velib" stations (bikes for rent) in easy walking distance
