* Our villa and property is/was blessed by Kumu Aunty Mahealani Kuamo'o-Henry. Kumu Mahealani and her O'hana have also being our honored guest's before, on different occasions.
Kumu Mahealani is an International renown teacher of the Ho'opono Pono Ke Ala system.

Hawaii is a magical place. A place and a spirit that words can not describe. One must experience this feeling, called Aloha, to understand. Most people say they just 'feel' better, healthier, and more alive here in Paradise. After vacationing in Kaanapali, on Maui many times, our family found the uncrowded beaches and quiet sanctuary of Kona more of a relaxing family-style vacation to soak up the true Aloha and get away from the crowds and commercialism of Lahaina. While the other Hawaiian islands all have their unique charms and attractions, The Big Island with it's uncrowded beaches, extra sunshine, active Volcano, and is yet in close proximity to Oahu & Maui and that made it the best choice for us.
Beach Location Counts! Being located 2 minutes away from Magic Sands beach is close enough to hear the awesome sounds of the Surf or even Whale singing in the evenings. At the same time enjoy our cooler elevation, while muting the on-going Traffic noise from Alii Drive. At our villa, you may leave the front door open, inviting natural Tropical breezes in. The large, front and back Lanai’s provide an expansive indoor - outdoor living Tropical ambiance and still enjoy your private comfort and spectacular views. Additionally, you will enjoy being up and away from the street level with parking in front of the villa, for easily moving supplies, luggage, and passengers. Parking is also plentiful on both sides of our wide cul-de-sac street, if you happen to have any extra-large vehicles.

First of all, we are a family of 9, with 5 adults plus 4 children, from Missouri, Washington and Vancouver BC who spent 7 nights and 8 days in Kona, during July. 5-Stars ... Here's Why!
We simply cannot say enough positives about our stay at Falling Waters Vacation Villa!. It is both adult AND kid-friendly with all the comforts of just like being at home, which made us want to leave it as in excellent condition as we found it (our age group ranged from 7-82). Diane and Dave, are so incredibly helpful when it comes to any type of local Island activity's, restaurant's, art galleries, and marketplace recommendations, and none of their recommendations failed us.
There is plenty of floor plan space, many things to Enjoy around the home, and it's close walking distance to the beach for extra snorkeling is a feature, you just cannot get anywhere else. With Magic-White Sands, Kahaluu and Kua Bay beaches, It was actually some of the best snorkeling on the island, complete with sea turtles on one day even. The Villa's Location is perfect for groceries, boating, a farmer's market, coffee plantations and Luau's ... basically everything we planned to do and more than we imagined. The neighborhood and property is well-kept with all the Hawaiian flora and fauna one would expect to see, and located on a very private, quiet cul-de-sac street.
Our kids spent many hours in the pool with more than enough pool toys that our kids could ever ask for. They were intrigued with the Storyline of the most recent pool art work of Marine animals and are still perplexed as to why there are 51 sea animals and one puppy. It must be a tribute to a very special puppy, but the art work is amazing! Sitting by the pool was incredibly relaxing and it never felt like we wanted to sit anywhere else!
Thank goodness for the plastic beverage ware provided so that there was never a worry about glass breaking by the pool. Really, every detail has been thoroughly thought out and having rented many homes in the past ... Actually every summer for the past 12 years in places ranging from Maine to Cape Cod to the Outer Banks), this one was the very Best.
These are the reasons that our family is not only posting this guest family review for Falling Waters Kona ... but, together we are most happy to give them a definite 5-Star Guest Rating!

Great property, highly recommended for families.
Call it 4 and a half rather than 5 bedrooms, one bedroom is a small room within the master suite. But for a family with a small child that can be a really good thing, having a little one close to parents for those nighttime wakeups but still with the all-important door in between. Kitchen is well stocked, and they keep around the various condiments (salt, pepper, cooking oil, no-stick spray) that people buy so you don't end up buying a huge container of something you hardly use. Pool is perfect, not heated but that's really unnecessary in the climate as the water warms up in the sun and was pretty much always ideal temperature for a cool dip. Also there is a bench/shelf running the length of the pool that is ideal for smaller children to walk and play in the water without being totally submerged, then the rest of the pool is deep enough for jumping in. There's a hot tub that we never used because it was just too warm out to want to be in the hot tub. Lots of snorkel supplies, and kids stuff including flotation devices for pool/beach and sand play items for the beach. Also a couple of older strollers that work perfectly well. No air conditioning in the house, but for the most part with the windows open and the fans on the bedrooms are fine at night. The downstairs bedroom gets afternoon sun and is probably the only room in the house that really suffers from a lack of air conditioning. Back yard a little buggy at night, but loads of bug spray provided and with the bugs you get tons of geckos and chameleons that the kids loved.
Good location near Magic Sands beach. 15 min drive from central Kailua-Kona town. There was actually some extremely high surf when we were there, resulting in closures of some local beaches, and we did get to see the true "Magic Sands" phenomenon with all the sand washed off the beach a couple of days. But in even moderately high surf there is a protected area of beach at Magic Sands that is good for little ones. When the extreme surf was up we went to Keiki Ponds beach tucked away near downtown, highly recommend. KTA supermarket was a short drive away, had everything we needed, did not even go to Costco this trip which is a rarity for us. Favorite restaurants we recommend a short drive away: Annie's Island Fresh Burgers, Ray's on the Bay at the Sheraton, Sam Choy's (mainly for the view, especially sunset), Da Poke House for lunch (assuming you like poke).
We recently traveled to the Big Island and stayed at Falling Water in Kona. We have rented different houses on three of the islands the past 5 years, I can truthfully say this was the nicest house by far. It is spacious and incredibly decorated. Most places feel like the owners put in the minimum so the renters can just get by. Not Falling Water. We felt like we were staying in a good friends home. The master suite is amazing! It takes up half of the second floor and has a separate tub and shower. There is even a small bedroom in the master bedroom that our 5 year old grand daughter loved. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need to cook a gourmet meal.
It is situated off a quiet street with quiet neighbors. There is beautiful pool and hot tub just out the front door. There is a generous supply of beach equipment including snorkels, masks, fins, sand toys, umbrellas and beach chairs. It is within easy walking distance of a white sand beach and a short drive to another very nice surfing beach.
When we return to the Big Island we will certainly make it a priority to book Falling Waters again.
Aloha, we are a small group of 6 family members that hail from the Palos Verde area all the way down to San Clemente, and we have been staying at Falling Waters Vacation Villa, for at the least the last 7 years, and at different times of the year. We have everything from lawyers to engineers to a US Navy academy graduate.
For the life of me, I and we collectively, just don’t know why we have never written a guest review for Falling Waters Vacation Villa; I guess we just took it for granted, or just maybe we really didn’t want others to know our secret! However, now we hope to make an attempt to write an accurate description of our time’s, experiences and the Joy of vacationing on the Big Island. As well as, stating our reasons for awarding a 6-Star Guest Review, out of a maximum of 5-stars! We recommend that you visit their brand, new dynamite Web site!
Over the past 7 years, we have personally witnessed via the Web … the on-going transformation of the Falling Waters Villa, through the process of remodeling, new appointments, updates, refurbishing’s, and landscaping of both home and property.
We fondly refer to them as the “busy little Keebler’s”, and they are relentless, lol!
What we can definitely say is that we have traveled the World, and I still do, and you could not meet more authentic, professional and friendly hosts, than Diane and Dave … we feel that they are real Ambassadors of Aloha!
While it would be impossible to include and mention every possible good reason as to why we have been staying over the past 7 years, we will at least mention some important highlights, and hope that our family review will be of value to future travelers.
On our first visit to the Big Island, 7 years ago, we were there for 2 weeks in October for the Kona Ironman and sightseeing. We had asked some questions before arriving about renting vehicles, the shuttle bus to town and proximity to grocery stores.
Dave, the manager, got back to us very quickly and we took his advice and rented vehicles - glad we did. We arrived in the evening and Diane was there to welcome us and give a quick tour and information about the house. This is an amazing Villa; more like an art gallery, beautifully decorated with absolutely everything you could ever need or want during your vacation, including an Infinity-type pool and hot tub.

We just returned home after a fabulous week staying at this property. We had a group of 10 and found the accomodations more than adequate for our family size. The home has absolutely everything you could possibly think of needing from cribs to boogie boards. What a beautiful place, exceptionally clean and inviting. The owners provide a lot of information on sites to see and things to do so we never lacked for activity. We had difficulty getting the kids out of the pool and feeding a large family like ours was a breeze with the great kitchen! A very pleasant time was had by all. We highly recommend this property!
We stayed at the Kona Falling Waters this past week and it was absolutely wonderful! We had 11 people in our group and the house easily accommodated all of us without feeling like we were on top of one another. At first we were worried that the pool was quite deep without a shallow end, but over the course of the week our kids (6-10) learned to swim like fish and thoroughly enjoyed the floaty noodles and pool toys that were provided. The house was clean, kitchen well stocked with everything you could need and rooms were nicely put together, with TV's and fans in all the rooms. The back deck was wonderful for dinners and relaxing in the shade. Diane met us at the home upon check in - at 3AM!!. Dave also came by to check on us after a few days and gave us lots of great tips about things to see on the Island. Diane was even kind enough to mail us back some pants that were forgotten in a dresser. There is great snorkelling within 5 minutes of the house and a lovely white sand beach within 20 minutes. Costco, groceries, shops and restaurants are all within a 5 to 15 minute drive. My husband loved that there was ample snorkel gear, water shoes, boogie boards and lawn chairs, all to borrow on an honour system. We highly recommend this property, we had a wonderful time and were sad to leave. Sometimes when you read about properties you wonder if you will really get what they say they provide, and I promise you with this property you definitely do. Mahalo to Diane and Dave, I'd bet we will be back again one day!

• BBQ Pit - with a New WEBER Grill, is located in the back, next to large deck and lanai. It is free-standing, has it’s own lighting and is now connected directly to the main gas line, so no more changing out any tanks!
