About Leah Dabney

This property is owned and operated by a family local to Carpinteria. In 2006 we completely renovated, down to the framework, our property which was originally built in the 1940's as a 4-unit apartment building with attached retail space. One and two-bedroom guest suites have been offered since Summer of 2007.

Great spot for extended business trip

  • 5 of 5

I had to satay in Carp for over a week for an engagement with a local business and found this property as an alternative to local hotels. What a find! The interior seems brand new and while I am usually very picky, I found everything to be clean and comfy. The unit had everything I needed and then some in the kitchen, plenty of extra cabinet space. The bed was really comfortable and I ended up getting solid sleep each night. I could have easily stayed here with my wife if on vacation as the unit has tons of room for two.

The locations is right in the heart of Carp. You can walk to anything. The beach is just a couple blocks away so I made sure to walk down each am before heading to work to soak up the great ocean air to start my day. I will stay here each time I visit Carp from here on out.

I am such a snob about places to stay and this place met all my needs and left me looking forward to my next trip. Just wish I found it sooner!

Older Couple from Pasadena Falls in Love with Carp!

What a great place to stay! It's an absolutely beautiful place, and within walking distance of numerous places to eat. Easy drive to others. The beach (long, clean beach with easy free parking––in late September anyway––just down Linden. We're even thinking of taking the train up someday; the little Amtrak station is just a few blocks away. Inside the rental, lovely kitchen, furniture, comfortable bed, really nice reading lights bedside, beautiful bathroom. I'd like to stay longer next time--and come here as often as possible. What a great little town. (I'm afraid I've gotten a little tired of Santa Barbara.) Parking lot just across the street, and a great coffeehouse on the other side of the parking lot! Oh, and stop by the library on your way home: terrific, staffed used bookstore with really fun bargains. (And Clementine's for dinner. Just saying.)

Beautiful place in a great location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in one of the two bedroom units for a week while our kids were in a camp nearby and it was a wonderful experience. It looked just like the photos, was super clean and was beautifully decorated. The location was private and quiet but less than a block away from restaurants, coffee shops and shopping and only a few blocks away from the beach. The unit worked fine for all of us when the kids joined us for the last few days, too. The owners were friendly and responsive.

HIGHLY Recommend this one. Will definitely stay again.

  • 5 of 5

I was the victim of a Craigslist scam for a different property in the area where the person I was corresponding with was NOT the owner or authorized to rent the property. He was planning to take my money and run. VRBO protects you. Once we uncovered the scam, we had a last minute scramble to find a real place to stay. THANK GOODNESS the nice people at Watermark came through for us. They had this fantastic property available and were very helpful in accommodating our last minute, stressful and late night arrival.

The property is as pictured and is such a treat with all new and contemporary furnishings and decor compared to the older, rundown condos a couple blocks closer to the beach. This little town is so small, it's worth it to be 2-3 short blocks away from the ocean and have these newer, cleaner, fresher accommodations.

I will most certainly stay here again and highly recommend it to others. They have a few places both 1 and 2 bedrooms.

Great time in Carpinteria

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I visited the central coast in October for his birthday. We stayed a few days in the Santa Ynez valley and then headed for the coast. We decided to stay in Carpinteria as it seemed like a quiet little town. To our pleasant surprise, we discovered upon arrival that the annual Avocado Festival was taking place a block from our condo. We thought it might be hectic and noisy, but the organizers did a great job of minimizing upset to the neighbourhood. We had great fun at the festival and one day took the Amtrak train into Santa Barbara, as the station was only 3 blocks from the condo. Condo seems brand new and well appointed. Only negative is a fridge that seemed to run constantly and air conditioning that we couldn't quite figure out. Other than that, we had a great time and would recommend this property to others looking for a nice weekend getaway.
