This quiet mountain cabin is located in the Sequoia National Monument. Mountain trails for hiking, the Tule River for fishing The Trail of 100 Giants and the Stagg Tree are at your doorstep to enjoy nature without the tourists of the National Parks. Or simply get away from the city and be one with nature. There is a deer trail at the back of the cabin where in the early morning and evening hours herds of deer stroll through.
We have two bedrooms each with a queen size pillow top bed for a comfortable night sleep. Each bedroom has its own bathroom for privacy.
We have comfortable leather couches in front of the wood stove, great for reading your kindle or that novel you haven't had time to delve into.
BBQ steaks on the Propane grill, everything tastes better in the mountains.
Best of all, unplug from electronics. No wifi, no internet, no cell phones. Truly a refreshing time away from the city.
We had a great time! Mom has never stayed in a cabin before and brought everything, even chairs for the deck. She was pleasantly surprised at how well equipped the cabin was, it has everything. We found everything so clean and homey. We loved it and we will be back. We met Joe and thought he was a terrific guy. We enjoyed our cozy fires and the view is spectacular. We even saw some deer in the front yard.
We loved this cabin. We came for a romantic weekend away and it had everything we needed-clean, cozy beds, a fireplace, a firepit, TV, fantastic couches and a bathtub. Lisa was great to rent from-she replies quickly, sent directions and even left a bottle of wine and glasses for us.
I couldn't recommend this place more. We loved it so much and made great memories during our stay.
We wish we had known earlier that the roads to all the sites were closed before we came. Unfortunately we found out after we arrived.
The master bedroom was so comfortable and cozy. It was perfect for an afternoon nap after some exploring. Unfortunately the cabin had some nearby neighbors who had other weekend plans-cutting down trees and blaring their music. If it weren't for them, and the fact that sound travels in this area, our weekend would have been utter perfection.
Our family felt at home in this clean and cozy Nelson Camp cabin. We enjoyed the detailed decor, clean linens, a variety of cookwarecla convenient washer and dryer, and a wonderful deck to see the beautiful sunrise and wonderful night skies (especially in the big red chairs). We were were also welcomed with a complimentary bottle of wine. We appreciate that this cabin is dog friendly and definitely would rent again in the near future.
great house outside of camp nelson, great balconies, very clean, very satisfied
The cabin is located a very short walk from the meadow (great location for sledding in the snow), the Tavern (local bar/restaurant ) and general store. It's a short 1 mile drive from Camp Nelson Trail. The rear deck is roomy and has a nice view of the nearby hills. The cabin is clean and cozy.
The Cabin has everything you need to cook, barbeque and relax. The town is quant with a beautiful view of the mountains and trees from the deck of the cabin. There is plenty of space outside to hang out on the deck or run around in the yard. Also, there are many hiking trails and swimming holes that are near the town (within 30 minutes)...some trails are right in Camp Nelson and there is great river access from the Belknap Camp Ground. Overall, there were few mosquitos and flies around the cabin when we'd hang out on the deck which was a delightful surprise. We had a great time relaxing with our family and it was perfect for our 1 yr. old's first "camping" experience....
Lisa is also an extremely responsive and supportive host. I appreciated that if we needed anything, she always responded and even offered her phone number for us to call when we were at the cabin if needed. Of course, we didn't need to contact her because the cabin has everything you'd need.
Highly recommended for a mountain getaway! (Make sure to BBQ some of the local steaks from Gifford's Market--info is in the packet Lisa provides prior to your rental).
Our stay at Lisa's Camp Nelson cabin was just perfect! We wanted to see the giant Sequoia trees without going into the National Park and saw many beautiful trees and other sights close by! The cabin was so comfortable and welcoming and amazingly clean. Sitting on the front deck in the morning and evening was so enjoyable with the view of Slate Mountain and mountain smells and noises. I enjoyed seeing many butterflies in the area and hummingbirds. The little village of Camp Nelson is so quaint and all of the locals were so friendly as we walked around the neighborhood. We would love to stay again for a longer period of time. Thanks Lisa for sharing your cabin!
