3 Bedroom Finca (country house ) of unique character created by the owners sleeps up to 6 with large private pool and waterfall.Decorated and furnished to a very high standard throughout. The property is situated in the small hamlet of Los Juncares, Iznajar where it enjoys the type of location that everyone dreams of ;south facing with sun all day with panoramic, breathtaking views across the valleys through olive groves and mountains.Lake when full partial view.Free WIFI.

Bedroom 1 with king size bed. Bedroom 2 with double bed. Bedroom 3 (attic room with its original beams) with 2 x double beds. All the beds are of top quality and have spring mattress's. Fans in rooms. Mosquito nets on windows. Winter months oil filled heaters in all rooms.

Bathroom 1 with bath/shower over, WC, bidet and washbasin. Attic en-suite to bedroom with large walk in shower, WC and washbasin.

Family room having a large free standing wood burner, television unit with a Sony TV, video, DVD and stereo music system. Large oak dining table and 8 leather chairs. Corner sofa and chair plus corner large table.Large armchair. Large footstool.

Library/study 1 large sofa and large armchair, lamp table with bookcases with books. Bedrooms 1 has built in wardrobes plus other furniture. Bedroom 2 has a large free standing antique wardrobe plus an armchair. Attic Bedroom free standing furniture.

Kitchen cream built in units with granite worktops, fitted large fridge, electric oven, extractor fan, hob, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, kettle plus pots and pans, crockery, glass's, cutlery.Utility Room washing machine, deep chest freezer, dishwasher, hoover.

Swimming Pool which is not heated is 13 x 6 mtr and is one depth of 1.4 mtr all over for safe swimming and has a natural stone built waterfall. Decking seating area which is shaded by the grand old oak tree overlooks the fishpond and waterfall at the top of the landscaped garden having a variety of ornamental plants, shrubs, trees and fruit trees of which you are welcomed to pick when in season. There are a number of terraces around the landscape gardens which has chairs,tables and sun loungers including the interior patio/court yard which has a small table and chairs plus a small sofa. Barbecue area with built in table and seating for up to 12 persons. Outdoor furniture. About Thomas Bodell

I am a retired Interior Designer/Decorator from the Wirral, Merseyside, England, UK.

I was born and raised in the city of Liverpool and proud of being a Scouser (a Liverpudlian) and to have seen the many changes in the city.

Recent investment into the city over the past 20/30 years has again put Liverpool on the map with every major hotel group opening new hotels in the city and was awarded the city of Culture in 2008 bringing visitors into the city from all over the world especially when the Tall Ships visiting the river Mersey.

My wife and I had our own Interior Design retail business in the UK for over 30 years with a loyal clientele that we had built up through giving a first class service and in 2004 we decided to sell our business and home to move to the beautiful area of Lake Iznajar, Province of Cordoba, Andalusia and have now lived here for 14 years.

Why Thomas Bodell chose Iznájar

When we first arrived at the property in 2001 we knew we had found what we had been looking for and that we had a big project ahead of us due to the condition of the property so with our experience in business we set to it and now have a property that we are proud of.

The area of Iznajar is of outstanding beauty with its rolling olive groves and mountains not forgetting the lake.The local people are fabulous, especially are neighbours in the village and take every day as it comes and when it is fiesta time then everyone lets their hair down and enjoy themselves.

Travelling around this area is a joy as you don't have the sort of traffic that most of us are accustomed to back home bumper to bumper.They usually say that you have to step up a gear due to the stress of life that a lot of us are customed to well we found that living here you can can drop down to a low gear.

Anyway I could write a book about the area and its customs.So you decide when you get here for yourself.

What makes this house unique

Finca Brigadoon is situated on the side of a mountain above the village of Los Juncares which protects the property in the winter time although we don't have bad winters. The property enjoys sun all day long due its location being south facing and it is so easy to access due to the roads in this area. There are plenty of lanes to walk and bird watch as well as seeing wild flowers etc. The town of Rute where we do most of our shopping is a pleasant drive and takes about 15 minutes. Iznajar town is 10 Minutes and when in the town exploring why not pay a visit to the castle and church both recently been completely restored.

A new indoor sports center with fully equipped gym of which you can use for a small fee.

Being here is such a joy and hope that you will enjoy your visit to the area.

The interiors of the property is decorated and furnished throughout to a very high standard by its owners.Please Note: The owners Thomas and Pamela will be residing in the other part of the property which is self contained and has its own separate entrance to the grounds and house and will be on hand to clean the swimming pool for you every other day a service that not many renters offer and to answer any questions with regards to where to eat and visit in the area especially when it comes to parking the car in cities like Cordoba,Granada, Malaga and Sevilla. You are here to enjoy yourselves and we will not interfere with your holiday but are here if you need us for anything. In the winter months we will supply you with logs if you need to lite the fire.

Sehr schön und ruhig

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen und erholsamen Urlaub. Die Aussicht war herrlich. Im Haus gab es alles was man braucht. Im Kühlschrank hatten das Ehrpaar Nahrungsmitteln für den ersten Tag, falls man es nicht gelich zum einkaufen schafft. Das Haus war sehr sauber und kunstvoll eingerichtet. Für eine 5-köpfige Familie war das Haus super. Der Pool war sehr sauber und wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Es gab sehr viele Liegen, Sitzecken, im Garten auch Sitzmöglichkeiten und einen kleine Teich mit Fröschen und Fischen. Vor allen Fenstern gab einen Netz, damit die Mücken und Fliegen nicht ins Haus gelangen. Es gab sehr viele Bücher und Zeitschriften, Spiele und eine Luftmatratze. Das Ehrpaar Thomas und Pamela waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Sie gaben uns sehr gute Tipps für die Ausflüge.

Wir waren in August dort. Es war Nachts sehr heiss. Es fiel uns sehr schwer einzuschlafen. Es gab nur Ventilatoren, aber leider keine Klimaanlagen. Das ist der einzige Minuspunkt im Haus.

The town of Iznajar is situated high up above the lake with its ancient castle, churches, shops and bars. The lake offers water sports such as kayaks , sailing, pedalos angling, camping and excellent bars/restaurants around the lake. The lake and town is a 10 minute drive from the property. Excellent shopping facilities in Rute a 15 minute drive. Rute also being famous for its Hams, Chocolates, Anise and other Liqueurs and a visit to the museums/factories is a must for tasting and buying that special gift. Larger towns of Lucena and Antequera 30/40 minutes drive for shopping malls, hypermarkets, cinemas. Lucena and Antequera have outdoor markets on Tuesday and Wednesday also Antequera has an excellent 18 hole golf course. There is a well stocked shop and bar in the village of La Celada 5 minutes drive along the road from the property. Visit the historic cities of Cordoba, Granada and Seville not forgetting Malaga with it architecture, museums, art galleries and shopping. Cordoba with its world famous Moorish Mezquita ( Cathedral ), palaces and the old Jewish quarter. Granada with its famous Alhambra Palace and Gardens is also a must to visit whilst on holiday in this area. *Please note for entrance to the Alhambra Palace and Gardens that tickets can be bought online so it is best to plan this visit into your holiday and get your tickets well in advance. Seville with its mighty cathedral and many other places of interest is also well worth a visit and is a 2 hour journey by car from Iznajar.

Iznajar Lake has a beach of fine sand which is used by the locals and tourist throughout the year and is only 10 minutes drive from the property.The beaches of Malaga, Costa Del Sol is approximately 80kms and takes about 1 hour drive from the property adding anything between 15 to 30 minutes to beaches such as La Colina, this is our own favorite beach which is by Torremolinos then there are the beaches of Benalmadena and Fuengirola. All these beaches are recommended by us.

Changeover day is flexible to help you to obtain the best flights but please check with us beforehand.

Prices are shown for weekly lets and if you wish for further days outside of weekly lets then please contact me for price. Check in from 4.00 pm and day of departure is no later than 10.00 am as we need to the prepare the property for our next guests.

Deposit is paid on booking and the balance is due 30 days prior to your arrival and the full payment will not be released to us until you have checked into the property.
