About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Exquisitely furished, beautiful bay front vacation home with 'million dollar' views and PRIVATE FISHING PIER WITH HUGE LIGHT Located DIRECTLY on the intracoastal waterway and the best fishing spot in Texas, Redfish Bay/Estes Flats. This home is in the beautiful, quiet subdivision of Bahia Bay, only minutes from historic, downtown Rockport, the famous Rockport Blue Wave Beach and Port Aransas.

Our upscale 3-bedroom, 3 bathroom bayfront home will comfortably accommodate a family, but it’s also perfect for four couples traveling together, or as a romantic and extra-spacious getaway for two.

Experience the amazing panoramic sunrises and sunsets of this charming home on property that is positioned between TWO waterways: a backyard that faces gorgeous Redfish Bay/Estes Flats, home to the best trout and redfish fishing the Texas Gulf Coast has to offer, and a front yard that faces a scenic canal. Sit on comfortable outdoor funiture on both the upper and lower decks and view the bay/intracoastal waterway that harbors plenty of dolphin and hundreds of birds. No other vacation home can offer its guests such amazing, peaceful views!

You will also be able to fish, boat, sail, kayak, or ski off your own private, lighted pier! Clean your catch in your own fishing stand, and cook your fish, including redfish, trout, catfish, flounder, etc., on a charcoal grill day and/or night.

Decorated with quality furnishings and fixtures, this home's beautiful hardwood floors span the kitchen and living area. The three bedrooms are lushly carpeted and the two baths and separate utility room with washer and dryer are tiled. Accommodations include a custom-built open-concept kitchen, dining and living area combined. The modern kitchen has a large circular breakfast bar and the dining area has a dining table, each seating 6. A dumbwaiter conveniently carries groceries and/or luggage from the garage up to the main floor for you. And the living area has a huge 65' cable TV with DVD player!

Also incuded are a huge master bedroom with 1 king-size and 1 queen-size bed and TV, a private, luxurious master bath with built-in storage drawers, bathtub, large two-person shower with double shower heads, and walk-in closet. The other two guest bedrooms each have comfortable queen-size beds, closets, and plenty of windows! We also have a new downstairs bathroom for convenient access off the bay front.

Are you needing to access the internet during your stay? Free Wi-Fi is included! Do you or your family enjoy going to the beach? If so, you'll be only minutes away from the beach in Rockport - the famous 'blue wave' beach on the bay, and 10 minutes to the ferry that will take you to Port Aransas - where you can enjoy the beach on the Gulf of Mexico.

Select this home for your next vacation with friends or family, or as a romantic get-away, to relax, enjoy the water, and just have fun!

About Camille Hudson

I grew up living on the coast and my husband enjoys observing wildlife, so we picked Rockport as a place to work in 2002. It took us two years to find the perfect lot on which to build. Its close proximity to the intra coastal canal provided the feeling of living on the ocean. We were also able to enjoy great fishing year round, see plenty of amazing birds and dolphins, and watch tug boats, sailboats, motorboats on a continuous basis. Our whole family loved visiting us. When our son-in-law came to visit, he would come to bed after fishing all night, just as we were getting up for breakfast! When we had to move to another city a few years later, we just couldn’t sell this house. We hope you’ll enjoy all that it and Rockport has to offer just as we continue to do.

Camille Hudson purchased this house in 2004

Why Camille Hudson chose Texas Gulf Coast

We chose this house for its location. Being positioned directly next to the INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY and across from a canal, it offers beautiful panoramic views from both the front and back. Being able to watch the boats going back and forth and the birds flying overhead is so relaxing. And the sunrises and sunsets are to die for! The sounds that come from the bay are so soothing - there is nothing like the sound of a tug boat pulling at its horn as it slowly goes by at sundown. We also love being able to fish on our own pier any time during the day or night when we want to do so.

What makes this house unique

Some of the house's unique benefits are its 1) close proximity to the intracoastal waterway and, therefore, EXCELLENT FISHING, 2) private, lighted pier with fish cleaning stand, 3)gorgeous panoramic views in front and back, 4)open layout of the house, custom-built features, and quality furnishings and fixtures, 5) 65' tv set with cable, 6) and Wi-Fi!. 7) Downstairs bathroom for easy access off the bay front. We built the house to live in when my husband practiced medicine in Rockport, so it's not your typical vacation home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your Rockport home the month of Nov. 2010.

We found it very clean and well equipped, the view is to die for, lots of birds, dolphins, boats and barges.

My grand kids fished your pier till the wee hours of the morning, caught a ton of small trout they threw back, but every night they would get 3-4 keepers. I fished Aransas Bay mostly, limited on trout and reds a couple of times, never got skunked.

The dumb waiter is a life saver when your our age, not having to tote  all our gear and groceries up the stairs was wonderful.

Having 2 driveways is nice, my wife and I were there alone most of the time, but we had guests a couple of weekends and our family came for Thanksgiving. Everyone could park off the street.

Thanks again and hope to see you next year.

Beautiful bayfront home with stunning views and great amenities!!

If you are looking for a nice waterfront home where you can just pack your clothes, some personal necessities, and a few food items, then leave all your cares behind, this is the place for you. We originally wanted to explore the Rockport area for its winter RV facilities, as well as the possibilities in experiencing the migration of the endangered Whooping Cranes. Having stayed in and being pleased with past VRBO/HomeAway accommodations, we saw this home and felt it would be perfect for us. Having family in Houston and hoping they would be able to join us for at least part of the stay, this spacious 3 bedroom/2 bath home, with a large living area and kitchen, laundry room, and front and back porches over looking the Redfish Bay or a community canal, did not disappoint! The home was clean, well equipped, had a 'dumb-waiter' that came in very handy for toting items from up and down the two levels, and was in a great location for shopping, sightseeing (especially the downtown historic district), boating, and a variety of delicious seafood restaurants. We actually had a storm come up while we were there, and had two garages to put both our vehicles in to get out of the wind and rain. This home was definitely a great place to visit with family while relaxing on the deck with a glass of wine, watching the birds, boats, shipping barges, and in the mornings, the spectacular sunrise.

Camille was so easy to work with, not only for booking our stay, but was very attentive to making sure our needs were taken care of and that we were satisfied with everything her home had to offer. She was also very gracious and allowed us to bring our family pet, "Harley" the boxer, and that, too, made us feel right at home.

What started out as a trip to find a place to set up winter RV parking in the future, turned in to realizing how much we enjoy the waterfront home life. This place was everything we hoped for an more, so we look forward to returning to this home sometime in the future!

Very Happy Stay!

  • 4 of 5

Our family had a great vacation the week of October 16, 2009. The pictures on line are very accurate regarding location and layout. The accommodations and amenities listed in the description were correct; the home was very clean, overall a beautiful home. We had a great time watching the birds, all the fishermen, and boats of all kind going past the house. The only problem was the lighting over the dinner table and that was temporarily solved by the rental agent. The kitchen was great; we had all our meals at the house, no need to go out. We had a very good time.

Owner's Response: We fixed the light over the dinner table by putting new bulbs in the fixture! Can't believe all five bulbs went out at the same time!

Property was a nice home on a channel but not well maintained.

  • 2 of 5

Property was not clean. Windows not cleaned in months, dirty dishes in the cabinets, very musty upon arrival, new home construction next door, most windows lacked screens.

Rented for two weeks and ended up leaving a few days early.

Great Location and views

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived the home was all we expected and more. The dumb waiter worked well to bring in baggage and groceries. The main floor was clean and the layout made the week very enjoyable. We caught all the fish we wanted off the dock and every night the dolphins would come in and put on a show. The boats and barges coming right past the dock just added to the wonderful views. The location was close to all the sites we toured and the private tour of the King Ranch we took was incredible and we would highly recommend it. Looking forward to coming back in the future.
