Must love extremely loud music until 1 AM.
As mentioned the property is located in a cool neighborhood close to old standby Stubbs, the Mohawk, etc., was pretty clean and looked accurate with respect to the listing.
The directions to enter the property were fairly confusing but not too bad (however this is coming from someone who develops large multifamily properties in Austin and is very familiar with all sorts of different keyless entry, smartlock, smarthome features).
The real kicker here, and only reason I wrote a review in the first place, (otherwise I would have given it 3.5 or probably 4 stars and moved on) was the live music that penetrated the building like it was made out of tissue paper. I get it... its Austin and maybe I should have known better, but what I just learned was that the few clubs around the property, including the two right across the street, just won the right @ city council to play live music until 1AM on FRI/SAT.... probably a bonus if you are planning to be out partaking, but not if you have a 5 year old and are planning on moving in a student to UT early the next morning.
It was so loud the noise was coming in through the exhaust fan in the bathroom. It was probably the worst thing in the world after flying in that morning for work on the 6:40AM from DFW and worked all day. No one slept at all until after 1:30AM.
So I guess this is more of an informative review then a bad or good review.
If you are hoping for a Rental downtown at a good price (and it was a good price) where you can relax, shower, and get a good nights sleep, then just go to the Van Zandt or something.
If you’re going to go out on Fri/Sat and have a good time, enjoy the libations and music scene thats still going strong in Austin, then this place fits the bill swimmingly. No ubers or godforsaken scooters required
Thank you for your candid review Brian. We truly appreciate hearing our guests feedback. Our listing does state that we are across the street from a live music venue and it can be very loud, hence, The Nod at Music District. Other than the noise, we hope you did enjoy your stay with us.
We hope to have another opportunity to host you in the future. We have multiple units here and others have quiet views of Waller Creek or the pool. We also have locations off South Lamar and Barton Springs.
Thank you again for staying with us. Go UT!
