We stayed in Silver City for the month of October and November. This house has a nice courtyard and lots of space and light. It feels like you are staying in your home. The bedrooms are spacious with very comfortable beds. There is a complete kitchen and lots of storage space. It was also an added bonus that the owner had a cleaning come in twice a month. It is in one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Silver City and within walking distance of the University and downtown. I would get up many mornings and walk up to Boston Hill to photograph the sunrise which is was always amazing. There is a Tuesday hiking group that leaves from the Visitor Center at 8:00 am and also a Thursday hiking group. The Western Institute of Life Long Learning classes are one of the biggest draws for us and the reason we will return again.
Stayed for a week, and we couldn't have stayed at a more perfect place and location! The weather was beautiful which made the outside area in the back the most glorious place to relax. We had everything we needed and could ride our bikes to everywhere we needed to go. The beds were super comfy and all of us were able to sleep peacefully. Thanks for letting us stay at your wonderful home. We thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to stay there next year when we come back!
My husband and I stayed at the solar home for one month to escape winter in the Midwest. The home was spacious and very comfortable, equipped with everything we needed. We loved sunning on the patio and sitting at night by the fire in the kiva. We were able to walk to everything Silver City has to offer; amazing restaurants, beautiful art galleries, the Gila National Forest, and more. This was our first experience in NM and we fell in love with Silver City. We had guests join us every weekend and they all felt very comfortable in the second bedroom as well. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
I stayed at the Solar House for a total of 3 months while I was working at Gila Regional Hospital. The house was absolutley amazing, and extremely spacious yet cozy. The property is very private and the patio in the back was my favorite spot to relax and soak up the sun. Everything was well stocked when I arrived, and the property was always kept clean. The house is in walking distance to Boston Hill where you can access various hiking trails and to the downtown area for shopping and dining. It was the perfect location. I could not have asked for a better place to have stayed while I was in Silver City, it only added to my great experience out in the southwest!
My husband and I stayed at the Solar House for a month and a half, and had a wonderful experience. We are a young couple that have had other long-term winter rentals, but THIS one has been our favorite so far! The house is large, and the rooms are 'roomy,' all with vaulted/wood beam ceilings, and the moment we first walked in, we were greeted with the lovely woodsy aroma. The kitchen, pantry, bathrooms, etc. were all well-stocked and we had no problems/did not have to buy any extras to get by (no new knives, pillows, or pans, as we've had to do in the past). The internet connectivity was also very good, and, as the owner told us before we arrived, we were able to watch movies and shows online without problems. We never had any maintenance or other issues, but the local caretaker was very easy to get ahold of when we had questions about checking out & house cleaning. Location-wise, the house is great, and we often enjoyed walks in the evening/night, up to the University, down to Bullard, and back. Also, check out historic Fort Bayard for an early evening walk - it's awesome!
We would stay again in a heartbeat!
I am a student who rented this beautiful spacious adobe home in downtown Silver City while doing a rotation at the hospital in town. The house was in a perfect location to allow me to take on-call hospital calls but also allow me to be close enough to downtown allowing me the chance to experience Silver City, New Mexico. The location and house could not have been more perfect for my rotation! I was able to walk to a variety of coffee shops and restaurants to study. On my runs around the neighborhood I came across a trail 2 blocks away that connects to an excellent mountain biking trail.
This is a beautiful house in a beautiful location! I highly recommend this house to any student coming to the area!
Gila Ruins, hot springs, Blues festival, Arts Festivals. Nearby to shops and restaurants!
