Chez Nua is a beautifully restored farm house which still has the original wooden beams and high ceilings of the traditional Charentaise house. It is situated in a small hamlet and set in its own grounds with complete privacy for our guests. Private parking is available either on the driveway outside the house or in the courtyard. The newly renovated kitchen which seats up to eight people looks out on the garden, and is equipped with all modern appliances, including microwave oven gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, kettle, coffeemaker and toaster. The washing machine is located in the laundry room. The spacious salon has retained the original beams and high ceilings and contains comfortable sofas and a widescreen T.V which has all the british channels and free to view satellite T.V. We also provide W.Fi to enable our guests to keep in touch with the outside world. Downstairs there is also a grand bedroom/parental suite with a separate ensuite bathroom. Upstairs comprises two more spacious bedrooms, one of which has two double beds, with wardrobe and bedside lockers with lamps. The other contains a double bed, wardrobe and bedside lockers and lamps. They both have wonderful views of the gardens. These bedrooms share a family bathroom,
In the gardens, we have an overground swimming pool which is fenced for children's security, with a sun terrace, and a stone barbeque for all guests to use, and plenty of outdoor dining space. This year we have also installed a 5 metre trampoline and a children's slide in our garden which is 1000sq metres long, which we hope will provide great fun for all the family.
The orchard which is 900sq metres long, is situated behind the trees, and is an ideal place to sit and relax with a good book, and soak up the Charentaise sunshine surrounded by apple, pear, and walnut trees.
We moved to France from Ireland in 2005, having fallen in love with the country during 20 years of holidays here with our four children. With the girls all grown up and left home, we decided to start a new adventure. We started off in the quiet hamlet of Migron, which is quite close to St Jean d'Angely, a bustling town, which has retained its architecture and history from the Middle Ages. In 2011 we decided to move home, and we chose Paille because it is also just 10 mins drive from St Jean d'Angely.
