About the property

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6) Great Pool

Have you ever been to Paradise? The paradise of Cozumel Island and it is all within walking distance of the main ferry dock. This condominium property is located 1 block east of the oceanfront and 5 blocks north of the main square of San Miguel, Cozumel's main city. It is located one block north of the 5th Avenue pedestrian mall where all the city's greatest restaurants are, the nicest shops for clothing, jewelry and Mexican artifacts, and many of the dive and snorkel operations. While some people prefer to be on the main square of town, or on the waterfront, once you experience the quiet and serenity being located just blocks off, you'll realize that being able to walk to the action is better than trying to be able to sleep through the noise of the revelers. Also if you have ever experienced the Caribbean in a storm, you'll also appreciate the safety and relative calm by being off the water in a newly built 4 story concrete building with hurricane shutters!

Within a short stroll there are numerous restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even a supermarket just blocks away.

There is not just a single season to enjoy Cozumel as the weather is delightful all year long. The ocean is crystal blue and abounds with vigorous sea life and is usually between 76 degrees and 82 degrees Fahrenheit. The Mexican people on this small island community are really happy to have visitors staying on their island and many are bilingual. The streets are uncommonly safe, night and day, for all ages, men and women and teenagers. It is so nice to walk among the residents of the island who often take to the streets at night as well, to enjoy the cool evening breezes. See this island from the perspective of a resident by staying in the city and enjoy walking to all your favorite destinations. Both private boat marinas and all of the best beaches are easily accessed by public taxis 24/7 and then you don't worry about directions! If you decide to rent a car for the vacation, there is an off street security parking area too. This is paradise on an affordable budget! Unlike some other Mexican destinations, Cozumel is not experiencing drug cartel violence. It's very safe here. Enjoy.

If you decide to come and stay with me, I have many local tips and recommendations to email you for your enjoyment. I have loved Cozumel for over 20 years and I can help before and during your stay for whatever questions you might have. My goal is for you to love being on the island as much as I love being there.

It is a very special place.

About Cynthia Darling

I am a scuba diver and Cozumel is my favorite location! The reefs are vibrant, fish life abundant and the water is always refreshing and fascinating. Above sea level, I also love being on Cozumel. The Mexican people are so warm and inviting and cordially allowing visitors and guests to share in the pride of their homeland. While staying on Cozumel, I have enjoyed taking Spanish classes locally, cooking classes and painting seminars. There is a gym on the island that is clean and modern with yoga and pilates available and a great staff of trainers. There are local tennis courts, a very challenging golf course and more beaches than you can go to in a week. And naturally, one of the favorite haunts for me is the pool area at the condo. Even after a day at the beaches or scuba diving, the comfort and community of the pool is a great way to wind down. Sometimes, a swim after dinner is the perfect night cap! Literally, there is something for everyone on the island.

Why Cynthia Darling chose Colonia Centro

I like being able to walk around town. The condo is located only 5 blocks north of the main square and the street scene is such a lively part of the Mexican experience with kids playing in the streets and lovers on the park benches and parents not far away supervising all activities. Being one block off the ocean also allows for quiet and serenity while the town celebrates or the ocean stirs up. Cozumel has none of the problems associated with the drug cartel violence because it is an island. Criminal elements like to be able to leave the scene of the crime more quickly than the ferry schedule allows!

What makes this condo unique

Even though I highly recommend the local restaurants, I love having my own kitchen for the flexibility of breakfast and lunch. This kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for a fancy dinner for 8 or just appetizers to serve friends, except of course for the food.

Beautiful, clean, private, and safe. Great location.

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Cozumel and we wanted to have more of an authentic experience than what you would normally get at a resort. We are so happy we chose Cindys condo. Not only is it a beautiful home but it is safe and in the central part of town.

We were a bit nervous at first not knowing anything about the island or how to get around but Cindy eased our minds by providing so much information and answering all of our questions. She really is an amazing host.

The condo is located downtown which makes it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, the ferry, and the beach. Taxis are highly recommended when you grocery shop or go out to the beach clubs.

Cindy's home felt comfortable and we had everything we needed to enjoy our days there. It was definitely hard to leave.

Thank you, Cindy. We will be back!

Comfortable large condo

  • 4 of 5

We have stayed here before. Comfortable, large convenient condo. Might wish for a quieter location next time, there are pluses to being close to the action and minuses of course. All in all, great place with many conveniences, safe, pool, laundry in unit, lovely landlord and manager...

So much better than an All Inclusive

  • 5 of 5

Clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable beds and good communication. Thank you Cindy for a great stay. The emailed details prior to our trip made our first ferry crossing a breeze. The condo is beautiful and being in town was fantastic. A short walk to the mall and ferry allowed us to shop and dine at will. The pool in the condo was also great. Cindy's recommended restaurants (all within walking distance) were fantastic. We have been to Cozumel, "diving with Christina" numerous times but always stayed at an all inclusive. Never again.

Hidden Gem In Cozumel

  • 5 of 5

The property is very clean and Modern. The grounds and pool are well kept. The unit we stayed in was very comfortable and much larger than expected. There were just three of us but would have been great for six. The property manger is very good at communicating about the facility. She is very enthusiastic about assisting with any other excursions or activities thru out the island. The location is a few blocks to the north of the main town square. Almost everything is within a short walk or taxi ride. I have stayed on Cozumel over twenty times and this property has risen to the top of my list.

Home away from home! Didn't want to leave.

  • 5 of 5

We began the planning for our trip back in July of 2016 because we originally were going to stay 3 months. We were able to talk with Cindy and after our conversation felt very comfortable with reserving the condo through her. She was awesome every step of the way! Very responsive to any emails we sent or any questions that we had. In early November we had to change our dates to only 6 weeks rather than 3 months. When we notified Cindy, she was super cool about the change and adjusted the price and dates accordingly since we were within the 60 day cancellation window. When we arrived at the condo in late January 2017 we knew we had made a fantastic choice. The pictures don't do the place justice. Plus Cindy got new living room furniture that was really, really comfortable and stylish. I had to work while I was down there and the Internet worked very well for what I needed to do with the exception of during the week of Carnival. I think due to the amount of people on the island and therefore using the Internet it definitely slowed down. I ended up using the hotspot on my phone during that week to do some of the heavy lifting of uploading and downloading. But the other 5 weeks we had no issues at all. We even streamed a movie one night. She has Telmex which is definitely the better service for Internet. Cindy's property manager (and also dive master) is Cristina and she was wonderful as well both as the property manager and as a dive master. The kitchen had everything you would ever need and the knives were actually very good and sharp! Beach towels were plentiful. Cindy has stocked the condo with everything you could ever need. The two queen beds are Mexican queens so they were a little short for my 6ft+ husband. But they were very comfortable. The king size bed was long enough for my husband but it was a little bit firm for me. The location was perfect. We were concerned about noise but it was very quiet, even during Carnival which we found very surprising. The pool was refreshing. It isn't heated so when we first arrived it was a bit cold. But since it pretty much was sunny and 83+ degrees everyday it warmed up nicely. Overall it was an amazing stay and we did not want to leave after 6 weeks! It was our home away from home and we felt super comfortable from the moment we arrived.
