This lovely, cosy farmhouse apartment is on the ground floor of the house and looks out over vineyards and wooded hills. The pool is just a few steps from the front door over the stone terrace, where there is a large outside dining table in the shade of the medlar tree, there is also dining underneath the lilac trees in the garden to the side of the house. There are two bedrooms, one double bedroom at the front of the house with french doors onto the terrace and also a door through to the kitchen. The second bedroom is at the back with a patio and french windows, this bedroom has two single beds for adults or children and has a view across the lavender into the vineyards beyond. This bedroom is great for children and is ensuite with the airy bathroom which has a jacuzzi bath and walk in Italian shower. Access to the bathroom is through the back bedroom.

About Tessa and David Nelson

We are Tessa and David Nelson, we met when David was a captain on the boats and I was a chef on a sailing yacht. David is now a carpenter and I am an artist and a chef. We both grew up in England although David has lived here since he was 19 and I have lived abroad for most of my adult life.

We love it here and have a small boat we go out on, and when David's son Jack is with us we go canyoning, kayaking, canoeing and all sorts, there is so much to do here. I am currently teaching water colour classes and painting trips in provence.

Why Tessa and David Nelson chose Draguignan region

This is an unique independent apartment full of country charm, friendly, our property is unspoiled the original provencal building, I think this is why we love it so much, it is authentic and endearing. The nearby views of endless hills and mountains are breathtaking. We live near to the beautiful river Argens which is delicious to swim in in the heat of the summer or go canoeing for the day on with a picnic. We are only 40 minutes drive from the spectacular Gorges du Verdun, and as I am an artist and painting outside is my favourite thing to do, fields of lavender, poppies and summer promise are my idea of pure bliss, not to mention the fabulous produce you can get in the markets. Fresh costs cheese and plump tomatoes with basil and local olives. Olive groves all around for that matter, delicious local olive oil. Fabulous vineyards and wine tastings. I fell in love with this area in 1985 when I first came to the South of France and here we are still.

What makes this apartment unique

The property is so pretty, being surrounded by nature and calm is just wonderful. The village is not far and it is fun to cycle there. It is very private and we are not disturbed by anyone.

Accommodations - The accommodations provided by David and Tess were wonderfully quaint and comfortable. Some may have described the scene as rustic, but it is traditional Provence in every sense. It was clean and well maintained. Set among vineyards and wild flowers - I had no problem finding a peaceful spot to sit, relax and breathe the fresh air. I can't wait to return.

Stunning vineyard farmhouse with fabulous pool

What an amazing stay we had courtesy of David and Tess - they couldn't have been more welcoming. The farmhouse is superbly peaceful and relaxing, with the beautiful pool area and outside dining. The property itself has a lovely kitchen/dining area, and a stunning, large bathroom as well as two light and bright bedrooms. An added bonus is the vineyard within walking distance to the farmhouse which has a tree-top high wire course, which the kids loved. Also close by is a beautiful river for swimming/canoeing. David was an excellent host, on hand, yet unobtrusive, giving us valuable local information. Close by are the beaches of the Med, and the Gorges du Verdon, both well worth a visit. We will certainly return!

Like something out of a novel!

I can't begin to describe my excitement the moment I saw the front of the home, covered in flowering vines, with beautiful old shutters...then upon opening the door on a very hot August day to discover it was wonderfully cool inside due to the two feet thick walls! The kitchen had a lovely big table and old cupboards filled with pretty dishes and tablecloths...and then of course I opened the French doors in my bedroom which opened onto a small patio looking directly out to the vineyards and my heart nearly stopped. It was just perfect. A great shower, a wonderful tub, a very nice comfortable bed and pillow... If you have a chance to stay here, you must! And I can't forget to mention the lovely pool. All in all, a truly magical place with beautiful people as the owners.

Charming cottage in peaceful location

This was a lovely property and perfect for a family. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and clean. The private pool was lovely, and there was plenty of space outside for eating and relaxing.

The owners were friendly and very welcoming, and kindly left some provisions in the fridge for us as we arrived later than expected.

The location was wonderful, quiet and peaceful, but near enough the local town for easy access to shops and restaurants.

Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others

Beautiful farmhouse in peaceful location

Clean and attractively furnished farmhouse with lovely views over surrounding vineyards. David and Tessa were friendly and unobtrusive and always on hand to offer advice and recommendations. Visits to the hill top village of Tourtours and the Lac de Ste-Croix were highlights and of course hiring a pedalo to explore the Gorges du Verdon. Would definitely return!

beautiful house amongst vineyards...

This was our 4th stay at David and Tess's, and we're planning on coming back in 2016, which is a recommendation in itself! A perfect unspoilt rural location, great for families with children, an excellent base to explore Provence or the Riviera, or just to relax around the pool and go no further than the local marchés. Our only reluctance to recommend it would be because we want to keep it a secret! A wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.

Wonderful stay

As I sit here on the patio overlooking the vineyards, smelling the sweet scents of the vines and forest, it's hard to know where to begin. David and Tessa are wonderful hosts! Idyllic beautiful location providing privacy yet convenience. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

We are located in the vineyards of provence, there is kayaking, canoeing, swimming, pedalos at the Gorges de Verdun, wonderful scenic walks, medieval knights templar villages, music festivals. Opera and classical music in Aix en Provence. English speaking cinema in Lorgues, Great cycling area, amazing views and great markets. The lac Saint Croix is a beautiful spot to visit as is Saint Moustiers and just beyond in May and June are the lavender fields of Provence and the bright yellow sunflower fields.

We have fabulous Grand Crus Vineyards near us to sample the local delicious wine. Just across the way there is a zip line adventure trip for the children. A pony club 5 minutes walk away for riding lessons and promenades.
