The Perfect Cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family has been vacationing in the Pocono Mountains for years and wanted to experience Vermont for a change. We searched and immediately were drawn to Holly’s Cabin. The whole process was communicated with Holly via email. Our goal was to get into the cold with superior ski/snow conditions and that’s what we got. As we approached the house, we were amazed at how beautiful the surrounding area was once we passed through the village of Stowe. Our arrival was amazing; the house is visible from the road and is nestled behind large evergreen trees covered with snow. It was truly a great experience pulling up to the house for the first time. Snow covered the house and icicles hung off the front porch. Lights were on and the house was cozy warm inside. Once inside, we were completely amazed at how well maintained the house was. The fireplace was perfect for keeping warm and cozy. The next day, we ventured out onto the property. This is where we witnessed some of the most spectacular nature views I’ve ever experienced. The house was well equipped with sheets, towels and cooking essentials. The house has a very unique outside hot tub that completely took away the pains created during a challenging day at Stowe Mountain Ski Resort. At night the temperatures dropped down to -16 but the house was warm inside lead by the most efficiently working Fireplace I’ve ever experienced. We were sad to leave such a beautiful place after our 4 day stay but will be back again in the future. The entire stay, I didn’t think of work and didn’t use my cell, which I realize on my drive home. We found our perfect Stowe log cabin in the woods and would recommend it to anybody who wants to get away with family.

Lovely property though home needs updating

  • 3 of 5

Holly is easy to communicate with and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay. The property is so sweet and pretty with a pond and porches. Inside is cluttered, although many of the collectibles were interesting. Mattresses are all super soft -- so soft that my husband had to sleep on the floor. Wifi is weak. The cabin is convenient to many great trailheads and to the town of Stowe. We would return to the area but would not rent this property again.

Awesome, beautiful and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This is my second time staying at this cabin and a simply cannot express enough how beautiful it is! This property has all the feel of a home. I've rented houses before and from the moment I entered they felt sterile and felt like a rental property but Finistere feels like a true and truly magnificent home. The outside grounds has one beautiful path and sitting area after another. The pond is exquisite and I spent an whole hour lounging on a raft and floating with the ducks. There are different and beautiful flowers and plants in bloom ranging from the specifically placed and manicured to beautiful wild flowers growing around the pond and on the wood's edge. Awesome, beautiful and so comfortable!! I wish I had stayed longer!

The perfect cabin for your vacation

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I were looking for a place to rent for a weekend during ski season in the Stowe area. After spending hours researching online and winnowing it down to a few places we decided on Holly Cabin (Finistére). It turned out to be a great decision! We arrived in the evening on the first day and were extremely impressed at how clean and well stocked the cabin was. Furthermore, the caretaker had anticipated our arrival and had the lights on, the place warm, and the pellet stove on. It immediately felt like home.

Holly (the owner), has obviously put a lot of thought, time, and care into this property. The pictures (although accurate) simply can’t do this place justice; it’s absolutely gorgeous! Normally, I’m the type of person who enjoys “going out” after a day on the slopes but with the ambience of the cabin and the hot tub at our disposal, I was more than happy to spend my evenings here with good friends rather than on the town.

Holly was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I had corresponded with her several times to arrange payment and make sure we’d have everything we needed before our arrival. She even called the first night of our arrival to check in with us to make sure that we had everything we needed and to ensure that there were no problems with the property. She was also prompt in returning our deposit that we had given her after our stay was over.

In short, if you’re looking for a wonderful place to stay with the perfect “mountain cabin” ambience as well as an honest, straightforward owner who cares deeply for her property and you as her guests, then look no further. We’re already talking about returning next year. Trust me and book this place; you won’t regret it!

Outstanding in Every Way

  • 5 of 5

We have lost count of the number of times we have had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home. It is one of our favorite rentals ever, and certainly our favorite in Vermont. It is the nicest kept: we literally marvel upon arrival at how welcoming and warm and glistening it is. The location is just perfect -- it feels very private and "in the woods", yet is a short drive to just about anything you would want to do or need. We love the local restaurants Michael's on the Hill, Hen of the Wood and Plate. Great hiking and the rec path either on foot or on a bike are not to be missed. This area is filled with things to do and places to see. As has been said here, the quintessential Vermont experience. But it is the house and property itself that we love. To fall asleep to the sound of the brook. To enjoy the hot tub under the stars. This luxury home is filled with charm and the owner goes to every length to ensure that our stay is just as we want and expect it to be. All communications have been easy and timely. The amenities and thoughtful welcoming touches are too many to list. We home to enjoy it one day soon with my brother, his wife and his two kids. The layout would be perfect for more than one family: not all homes are laid out well in that way, but this one is. Lots of space for people to have on their own and yet great shared spaces. The property itself is beautiful and has lovely wildflowers and landscaping. The pond and the surrounding mountains afford such beauty from both porches that open onto them. And those ducks! Watch out - you will fall in love. We cannot say enough about this wonderful home. We have stayed there in every season, and every time, we hate to leave, but are so grateful for our time there. Highly recommend.

A Taste of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I visited Holly Cabin this past August and could not have had a more wonderful time!

Nestled in the VT mountains we were able to truly ourselves and just relax. The pond with its tame ducks, the hot tub with its glorious view of the night sky, the very welcoming log cabin and, when it rained, the tons of indoor activities available such as board games, books galore, puzzles, internet, tv and so much more.

All of which cry out to us, "go back, go back"! And we will!
