We spent 5 nights here and it was the perfect place to call home. The rooms were spacious and the beds very comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The southwest facing lanai is so large. We used it ALL the time. The condo has all the things you need for a day at the beach. From beach towels, to chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards and a cooler to use for all those day trips. For the times you didn't want to cook there are places to eat that are close by. If you have a car, which I think is a must, I would suggest you do your grocery shopping at CostCo in Kona. We spent our time driving around to see the sights or visiting different beaches. On our day trip to see the volcano, we even booked a boat trip (thru Lava Roy's Ocean Adventure) to see the lava flow into the ocean. What a sight! We had a 4:00 trip, so got to see the lava flows during daylight and in the twlight (which is a perfect time to still get some pictures of the glow from the hot lava). Even though it didn't work out for us to personally meet Peter, he was always available by phone for any question I might have. I would use this condo again in a heartbeat if we make it back to The Big Island again.
I met the owner and instantly it was as if a long lost brother was back in the family. This was the most wonderful and easy to work vacation, I've ever taken! We vacation to Hawaii yearly in the hopes of moving there someday before retirement and to spend the rest of our days there! This property and it's owner has strengthened that desire and has made our decision to live in Hawaii even more certain! Simply put this is the ultimate property!!!
Wonderful location. Hard to beat. Nice unit on the ground floor and it was very quiet, which was my primary worry. Close to the pool without being so close you could hear swimmers. The BBQ was right by the building. The unit was well kept and had most everything we needed. Kings and Queens shops were close enough to walk to if you wished. We were lazy. Abay is beautiful to look at, but apart from what others said I wasn't impressed. The water was warm but the day we were there the water was murky and you couldn't see a thing. There was way to much lava rock at the edge to walk on before you got to sand, so it wouldn't be that great for just swimming. A better beach was Hapuna, which we went to a lot and the unit's location was just about 4 miles south and a very easy drive. Location, location, location. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I visit the Big Island again. Peter, the owner, was great to work with. He was very accommodating, easy to reach, and even when I screwed up he was very gracious. Thanks for a very nice vacation. No stress, except from my own kids.
This was a great property and an easy process. The owner was very helpful with providing information for the surrounding area attractions and setting us up with the golfing. The property had everything that was listed in the description and a few other items which was a nice surprise. The pictures do not really do the location justice because of the comfortable atmosphere on the deck area.
Very comfortable & accommodating unit. Location is close to the action in Waikoloa area but peaceful & relaxing as it is not part of one of the big chain resorts nearby. Still easy to take advantage of their amenities however including restaurants, recreation, etc. 5 min walk to A-Bay for snorkeling, beach, etc. Pool/spa & fitness room on site. This is a great home base for exploring the entire west side of the island. Highly recommend.
