A great house in such an interesting part of Provence. So many different places to visit. The house, the pool, the very helpful hosts made it a perfect stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderfully appointed villa. The owners were very informative before our stay with tips and information. The villa was private but not remote, wonderfully stocked and comfortable. The local area had many things to do for all interests. Would definitely recommend.
This extensively equipped villa is situated on a large and long-established private estate about five minutes drive above the beautiful village of Tourtours. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, lots of living space inside and out and a heated pool with complete privacy. The owners are conscientious and helpful with a local agent readily available and we enthusiastically recommend the property . The area is beautiful with much to see and do - though be ready for narrow windy roads.
Beautifully kept villa, everthing you dream of , everthing provided for your comfort, very high standard throughout property. Large pool.
Stunning mountain area with lots to see and do locally
Can throughly recommend
We rented the villa as a couple, although there is plenty of room for a group of four. The villa is situated in a tranquil setting, but only a short drive to the nearest village, Tourtour. The directions provided to locate the villa were accurate.
The villa is extremely well equipped and maintained.John and Marilyn rang on our first day to check that all was well. The owners asked for suggestions of extra equipment that could be provided, and we could not think of anything! The villa is well presented and comfortable, we slept well for the duration of our holiday.
We spent the mornings exploring the local villages and towns, which are all very pretty. We especially enjoyed the local markets and vineyards, of which there are many. There is a wealth of local information in the villa to inspire visits in the local area and beyond. The afternoons were spent on the terrace and in the heated pool. There are areas in both sun and shade. We were able to sit outside and eat most evenings.
We returned home with great memories and plan to return as there are still many things that we want to do.
We have no hesitation in recommending this villa to people wanting a relaxing holiday.
an excellent property.well maintained well equipped.excellent pool.good customer service(owner phoned on first night to confirn that all was satisfactory)
would not hesitate to recommend.
good information as to restaurants, places to visit etc.
one of best properties we have rented in 26 years of visiting france.
At Villa Athenais you can have a holiday away from it all.You have use of the facilities on the Domaine, there are tennis courts and a 25 metre swimming pool open during the summer months. The area is calm and beautiful, set between the sea and the mountains, it is 30 mins from the Gorges de Verdon and the Lac Ste Croix. Villa Athenais is well situated to visit the villages of the Haut Var and the sights of Provence. At 600 metres it is cooler than on the coast during the hot heady summer days. The nearest restaurant is a 10 minute walk, with many more in Tourtour village. Also in Tourtour is a small mini-market and boulangerie to cater for your needs.
Other Activities: Golf (45 mins), wine-tasting, white-water rafting (45mins)
