Overview

Haena Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Cottage, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Experience the incredible beauty of the north shore at the Garden Cottage in Haena, Kauai, located in the heart of the most beautiful 10 miles of the island. We are close to Tunnels Beach, and set between 2 of the top 5 rated beaches on the islands. Kepuhi beach is 50 yards down the driveway; directly behind is lush jungle hillside, the border to 1000's of acres of private nature conservancy land. All tucked into a quiet, secluded, tree lined cul-de-sac.

The private, cozy cottage interior features a high open-beam ceiling, wood floors, and tropical décor, along with cooking facilities. Outside is a private shower with a spectacular view of the jungle, private deck, barbecue, tiki torches to enjoy the evening, and all the style of old Hawaii.

If you are seeking a Honeymoon hideaway or romantic getaway...Relax to the soothing sound of rolling surf, enjoy a bonfire on your private beach, and just minutes away is Hanalei with restaurants, dancing and entertainment. You can walk the beach the entire final 2 miles to Ke’e, where the road ends and the famous Napali coast begins. Or you can walk the beach just 300 yards to the Hanalei Colony Resort, for the only (award winning) restaurant and coffee house on this part of the island. Or just take our beach chairs and walk the few steps to the beach out front!

We are an approved Kauai Vacation Rental TVNC #1052.

What a gem this cottage is! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and thank you for sharing part of your homestead! Loved the noises at night and all the birds in the morning. This place has everything we needed-especially-tranquility! Mahalo!

JUNGLE ROMANTIC RETREAT

  • 5 of 5

THIS PLACE IS SO BEAUTIFUL ! IT IS THE EPITOME FOR A ROMANTIC HONEYMOON RETREAT.

IT IS CLEAN AND HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED. EXOTIC JUNGLE SETTING.

WE LOVED THE RAIN, THE KING SIZE BED WAS VERY COMFORTABLE, THE KITCHEN WAS PERFECT, WE COOKED MEALS. WE FOUND THE TAP WATER TO BE GOOD - IT TASTED LIKE RAIN WATER.

HOT OUTDOOR SHOWER WAS AN EXOTIC TREAT.

THE BEACH IS ONLY A 2 MINUET WALK AWAY ( ACROSS A QUIET ROAD). I ONLY HEARD OCEAN WAVES AND RAIN, (GLAD I DIDNT HEAR ROOSTERS.)

THE OWNER AND CARETAKER OF PROPERTY ARE VERY ATTENTIVE TO RESPOND TO PHONE WHEN YOU CALL , THEY ARE VERY NICE PEOPLE.

WE BOUGHT OUR GROCERIES IN KAPAA AT SAFEWAY AND PAPAYAS NATURAL FOOD STORE BEFORE WE DROVE THERE.

CHECK OUT FARMERS MARKET FOR APPLE BANANAS AND STRAWBERRY PAPAYAS SO YUMMY!!!

WE HIKED NAPALI COAST TRAIL TOO.

Everything we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

We are finally back in the correct time zone, and while sharing our Hawaiian vacation photos, we find that we are often talking about the great vacation rental we had. It was truly everything we wished for. It was just the right size for the two of us, and had what we wanted; privacy, quiet (and still hear the ocean), private outside shower, gas grill (not the charcoal grill listed in features), nice frig big enough for two weeks, and falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the jungle. Sometimes we would take our breakfast and walk down the driveway, across the narrow two lane road to the beach just a couple of steps away. A great way to greet the morning, enjoy another cup of coffee, or stroll down the beach toward Tunnels. The North Shore may be a "drive" to the other side of the island. But, we find that what we want in our Hawaiian vacation can be found on the North Shore--beyond Princeville, past the one lane bridges, were cell service is iffy, and time slows. This was our 4th time to Hawaii, our 3rd to the Haena area, and our first to the Garden Cottage. It was our home away from home, and one that we will be looking forward to when we return.

North Shore Haven

  • 5 of 5

This lovely cottage is an absolute North Shore Haven! The photos do not do it justice, so clean, tidy, and well thought out. A grand place to call home for a week, with all the little extras you may need! The kitchen is well equipped with nice cook ware. We are old fashioned and like to dine-in, between the kitchen and the grill we were in our element! So worth the time to dine on the fabulous back deck. Complete with tiki-torches and candles!

Hard to believe there are two other rentals on the same property (great minds think alike) so it was very quite. All the privacy you could want! There were beach chairs, a cooler and various other items to use. Grand to walk across the street for coffee on the beach. Our rooster was a 4:30 am guy, which was fine with us, plus he's handsome! Really that is just part of Kauai, you are a guest...get used to it and laugh! Be prepared there are mosquitos...they are tropical and you don't know your bit till too late! So use the bug juice of your choice and enjoy having the jungle as your private back yard! Oh and they have great screen doors, keep them closed and you will be fine!

The owners were wonderful to work with and their property manager Patricia is awesome!

If we are so lucky enough to go back again next year we would definitely want to book here!

There's more...but you have to go see for yourself!

Fabulous jungle hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We just got back from a five day stay. We were overjoyed with the tropical feel of the cottage. We get tired of the "big resort" feel of a vacation, so driving up to our own little cottage in the jungle was a treat. Working with Beverly was great and there were no issues at all with communication/payment. It was a bit rainy and windy when we were there (should have packed sweatshirts) but we still were able to easily snorkel at the baby beach (in front of Hanalei Colony resort) and we saw five turtles while snorkeling. We also dove at tunnels (1 mile away) and saw beautiful sea life there as well. We had a bon fire on the beach one night and drove into Hanalei to eat two nights-the other nights we barbecued and enjoyed the tiki torches and patio table. The outdoor shower was fun and totally secluded. I only wished for a toaster to have toast for breakfast, but other than that, the kitchen had everything we needed. And we loved having an ice chest and chairs/towels for the beach. We will definitely be back. P.S. We shopped for groceries in Kappa at Safeway and didn't find it much more expensive than California.

creating memories...absolute perfection...

  • 5 of 5

Look no further. This cottage is absolutely the best place to stay on the island. As newlyweds, we could not ask for a better place, with all amenities we needed for our stay. Breakfast outside on the back deck, private outdoor shower (it doesn't get better than that!!), the most comfortable bed, and pillows to die for...our wake up to the gorgeous beach house white ceiling, meditating fan and beach house sign made our mornings. At night, we enjoyed supper on the back deck, lit with tiki torches.

The beach across the street is great for sipping morning coffees - even when the trade winds are high. We ran on the beach or road almost every morning - the Kalalua Trailhead is 5 km away - just the best spot for a day hike or overnight. The town of Hanalei is super close by for great restos, markets, and grocery. Even if you want to visit the South shore, I would stay here - the vibe is incredible

We will be back. I would live here if I could.

Oh, and the space is unbelievably clean. Exceeded our expectations.

Kauai paradise found

  • 5 of 5

If you love the North shore, this is paradise. Almost to Tunnels Beach, it is nestled in beautiful gardens near the most beautiful beaches on the island. It is private, charming, comfortable, and accessible to any island activity. We had our own quiet beach out front for early morning coffee and long walks. The neighborhood is quiet. The cottage is well- stocked, with everything you can need. Good mattress. But, the best treat is the outdoor shower in the jungle out back. I stayed alone for one week of "me" time. As a couple the second week, it is most romantic!!! Owners easy to work with. No problems with this unit. This is a must. We will definately be back soon to our little love nest!! Leigh, Reno NV
