Why Tim Stockton chose Mount Hood

We purchased our home after our son joined his high school ski team. Our family has always loved the Mt Hood/Government Camp area and we have made so many wonderful memories. There is always something for us to do whether it be downhill skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed staying there very much. The moms and kids liked the spaciousness, the big kitchen and the indoor hot tub. I also appreciated all the Timberline Lodge posters and photos.

A wonderful place, within easy walking distance of so many amenities, informative hosts, lots of space in the common areas for larger groups. Would definitely be interested in staying here again on another trip to Government Camp!

Great cabin, watch the details however!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with our stay at this place. Spotlessly clean on arrival and smelled clean (no cabin funk) and clean top to bottom including hot tub. Innovative system for folks to sanitize hot tub with each use which was super smart. Good location, easy access to Timberline and Meadows (and Ski Bowl if you so desire is RIGHT around the corner). Would stay again. Homeowner very attentive and easy to reach. READ THE DETAILS HOWEVER as homeowner expects you to carry out your trash which is a bit of a shock for the price, however wasn't deal breaker.

Close to town...not very clean

  • 1 of 5

Spent three nights last minute on government camp with family. Had a great time on the mountain and in the snow.

House is very conveniently located walking distance to town and tubing.

The house is updated somewhat, mostly needs a lot of updating and a good deep cleaning. A lot of dust everywhere and some sheets were not washed. There were some blood stains on some pillows and mattress pad in the bedroom by the kitchen. I would recommend buying good quality mattress pads and new sheets and pillows. Very unpleasant owner Roxanne. We would not return to this particular house again.

Nice convenient stay for a large gathering

  • 5 of 5

We had four families staying at the house and it was a wonderfully convenient vacation home. Next to ski bowl so kids could take advantage of the sledding, and we could cross country ski from the house. House was well equipped for a large gathering and the hosts were very responsive of our needs. Would recommend and stay here again.
