Full modern industrial kitchen with washer/dryer. High speed broadband wired and wireless connections. Cable TV w/ DVD player. Four blocks from the Animas River Trail and bike path to downtown. Stayed with my 2 daughters and wife August 2015, everything that we needed was there.. TV, Wi-Fi, Refrigerator, Washer/Dryer, King size bed with a nice queen inflatable mattress... you can tell a good amount of thought has been put into what one might need as all the smaller things were there as well.
The rental is not downtown but it only took us about 4 min to drive to downtown Durango.. if you walked it I would say it is no more than 2 miles away.
The rental does not have central A/C and it took me a bit to notice the portable A/C in the corner. Once we had it on for about 24 hours we had no issues with the temperature of the room. The only recommendation I can make is to perhaps have someone turn on the A/C unit the day someone is coming into town. We arrived st our check-in time and the temp in the room was 80 and so we ran the A/C several hours... by 9 PM is was finally down to 76 in the room. We left it running the duration of our stay and didn't have a problem after that as the room temp stayed a constant 74 degrees.
All in all, I'd most certainly recommend this place to anyone and this will be our 1st choice when we return to Durango next year
The best appointed and most comfortable lodging of the nine places we stayed on our month long trip. Much better looking than the rental website photos, it is spacious and airy with a high ceiling and large picture windows and tastefully decorated with newer, better quality furnishings. The modern full size washer and dryer is very convenient, the large walk-in closet leading to the bath has plenty of storage space and the kitchen has modern appliances, a good selection of cooking/eating ware and generous cabinet/counter space.
Its location, above a garage and adjacent to a middle school did not detract in any way from our stay. It is close to the town’s bus and free trolley stops and the downtown area with its many nice shops and restaurants is about two miles away.
Overall, the studio is an 'A' lodging and we would stay there again. It is extremely comfortable for two and would be fine for a family of four or five.
The studio was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The location was great near the rec center. The main house was rented out to a large group attending the same soccer tournament we were, the noise of their group carried over to our studio. This was ok for us since we also had children, but would have been troublesome if we were looking for a quiet weekend.
Loved this place. Location was not ideal to downtown but the comfort and amenities made up for the location. Would definitely consider this again for future visits to Durango. Thanks.
Very clean, new and top-of-the-line fixtures, bedding, appliances, etc. The extra touches made our stay luxurious and comfortable at the same time.
We rented this and the adjoining home during July and had an AMAZING time. The owners were wonderful to work with. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here while exploring Durango. Close in but nice to be out a bit. The large windows give wonderful birdseye views, trees out every window with glimpses of neighborhood deer. Bed comfy, great kitchen space, bathroom nice, all very clean.
We enjoyed the store Bread just out of town, the homemade donuts at Doughworks just down the street, Ken and Sue's, Carvers and Cyprus cafe downtown as well as the beer taster (twice:) at Ska brewery. We toured the art center, wow, lovely pieces, walked some nature trails as well as the river trail and just relaxed in the studio. Thanks Daniel.
This lovely studio is located within the Durango City limits in the Northern part of town west of the Durango recreation center, on highway 500 and 27th street, about 1/4 mile.
The local downtown main street area is a 25 minute walk along the beautiful Animus River bike trail.
The Durango Recreation center is a 10 minute walk.
