EXTRA LARGE HOME WITH PRIVATE HEATED POOL and HOT TUB and 100 Steps to the BEACH –-
(If this home is not available for your desired dates you may like to see our two other two extra-large homes listed under Homeaway’s 119156 and 131022).
Why Rent This Home?
Heated Swimming Pool, Hot Tub, 100 Steps to the Beach lot, Ocean View, Sleeps 3 Families, Impeccably Furnished, 4 K TV, expansive kitchen….
Walk in and say wow! Our award-winning architect designed the home around a 24 by 14 ft. heated pool built into an expansive private second-story deck with a 7-person hot tub. The bold, colorful interior is packed with unique, playful touches, high-tech lighting and decorative arts, creating a fun and refreshing counterpoint to the surrounding neutrals of sand and seascape. And, you will be able to tuck in 3 families in the large beach home.
With a large group we felt our guests needed not just many BRs and baths and large rooms, but also separate areas to gather. The home has 4 private porches, a BBQ porch, a downstairs TV den/foosball game room, a den near the pool, and a porch near the hot tub. And, there is a huge deck on the mid-level with plenty of space to hang play and dine. And the main living area and side porches are perfect for small groups to connect with their friends and family
With this variety of gathering spaces, soft conversations and loud TV/music and soft conversations do not conflict.
What does the home offer?
The heated pool is one of only 5 rental homes with pools in Fenwick. We own three of those five. As the photos show our pool is on midlevel deck and has tables for pool side dining. And on one corner of the pool deck is a den with a wet bar and mini refrigerator where you can keep beverages cold and easily accessible.
In addition, the home has the number of beds, showers, furniture, and kitchen space/utensils and open space to provide the essentials that offer both a large number or small number of guests with both optimal privacy and gathering spots for a memorable vacation.
The home also has the amenities to help create one of your best vacations ever- heated pool, hot tub, entertainment items including a 55 in 4K LCD, and 6 other LCD TVs, and 8 bikes.
The home is heated and cooled with mini splits. This means you can adjust the temperature differently in each bedroom and living area.
Accommodating Your Large Group-We have plenty of everything you need-
The kitchen size and cooking accessories are critical to having a fun vacation. Designed for large groups, this Chef's Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals for large groups. The kitchen is large enough for a chef and 4 or more sous chefs. Your cooking preparation will be supported with two sinks, two fridges, expansive countertops, a large array of utensils and pots and pans, and a range with two ovens. The kitchen is located on the top floor open space, so you are connected to your gang while you prepare meals. Besides the two fridges in the kitchen we have a third fridge in the ground level hall near the front door, so you can store beverages you take to the beach.
This Fenwick Island, Delaware beach vacation rental home is perfect for families with young children or groups of friends. Designed for large groups, this Chef's Kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals for large groups. It has 2 sinks and 2 refrigerators, another refrigerator downstairs, and a BBQ just outside the kitchen door and one on the large pool deck. You can eat in the dining room, the kitchen bar, the front deck with a view of the water. To support your evening al fresco dinner party on the second-floor pool deck, we have plenty of seating.
The home comfortably sleeps your large gang with 7 sleeping options-3 king, master suites; 1 contains a large walk-in shower with 2 shower heads. Another bedroom includes a queen and a twin with a private shower and vanity; 1 bedroom has 2 sets of bunks with a private shower and vanity; a bedroom on the ground floor 5 steps to the outdoor shower; and 1 queen sleeper sofa bed in mid-level den. There is off-street parking for 6 cars at the home.
Please note: to better understand the home layout there is a floor plan for the home in the photo section on this Homeaway site.
No Shortage of Fun for Your Gang When You Stay Here-
It has a private heated pool and hot tub and, in a mere, one-minute walk you are at the beach. You can swim all day in the ocean and return to the heated pool (extra fee for heat) for a dip before dinner. The pool and hot tub deck are generous sizes making it a perfect spot for your guests to hang out or to dine.
Additionally, the home has a 55 in. 4K TV, 6 additional TVs/DVD players and WIFI. It has a den on the ground level with a LCD TV - far enough away from the top floor that kids and adults can hoot and holler without bothering the less "expressive guests." And there is a Foosball game table in that den. There is also a mid-level den with a 44 in LCD, wet bar, and a queen sleeper sofa.
Use our eight bikes to explore the "island" and to go to Kohr's for a delicious custard cone, pick up the lattes, morning paper, bagels and/or donuts (all a short distance from the home), or just enjoy being mobile. Within easy walking distance are many restaurants (one a James Beard award winner), coffee shops, book and clothing shops, 3 mini golf courses, water slide and go cart track. Go to our ResortPointe.com blog at for our reviews of restaurants and recommended attractions and specials. We provide a few boogie boards and beach chairs.
The town hall (3 blocks away) has a great playground for children, a basketball half-court, and a shuffle board court and a picnic area. There are two local kayak touring companies that specialize in surf and Eco adventures as well as lessons to surf the waves in a kayak. In Ocean City there is a large amusement park (just a few miles away) as well as two boardwalks, and many more restaurants, bars and shops. Inland about 6 miles is the Freeman Stage entertainment venue (there is a blog post on the Freeman Stage) hosting a wide variety of good entertainment. A mile from the beach on Fred Hudson road there is a great 7-mile trail through the woods (see below).
And for the off season, we have a gas fireplace, cozy sofa blankets and tear-jerking old DVD movies.
The Quiet, UN-Crowded Beach of Fenwick Island-
The guarded, Fenwick beach is a one-minute walk from the house. It is amazingly less crowded and quiet compared to the beaches in Ocean City and Bethany Beach-typically Fenwick's beach has 70% less people on it than those beaches. Check out the comparison photos of the amount of beach goers on Bethany Beach's beach and Fenwick's on the busiest day of the year in 2015, 11:30 AM, July forth. The Fenwick beach was replenished in the fall of 2016, so it is extremely wide unlike Bethany's beach.
A 5-minute walk takes you to the Sea Discover Museum which houses artifacts from sunken ships in the area. If you are lucky they will bring out a 50-pound gold "necklace" found in a sunken Spanish ship. You can visit Lewes, smaller than Rehoboth but a good day trip...very quaint. You can take a fishing charter out at the Indian River marina for a half or full day. And a 5-minute ride takes you across the bay where you can rent a boat or jet skis.
A 30-minute ride from the home takes you to Rehoboth Beach-the town is much larger than Bethany and Fenwick and boasts many shopping and dining options, and a three-mile boardwalk, and an amusement park. There are also fabulous sales tax-free outlet shopping at 140 Outlet stores. And in another 30 minutes you can tour Dog Fish Head Brewery.
Even More Fun
Fun corner is on the intersection of Rt. 1 and Rt. 54 in Fenwick. It has many fun activities and food for adults and kids- go carts, water slides, mini golf. The Discovery Sea Museum in Fenwick, a 5-minute walk from the home, has recovered treasure and artifacts from ship wrecks. You can take a short walk on the pristine beach for swimming and surf fishing, and wander for miles in the adjacent DE Seashore Park. Plus, there are bike paths, three boardwalks, and superb dining in 2 states. Water sports available are crabbing, clamming, boating, kayaking, jet skiing, sailing, sport fishing, beach combing, surfing, shelling, windsurfing. There is a boat rental shop right across from bay from the home. Enjoy the tennis courts at 141st St. in Ocean City. Keep in shape while on vacation – work out at the two gyms that are within a 10-minute car ride. And, there are nature trails, bird sanctuaries and the Seaside Nature Center can all be found at Cape Henlopen State Park just outside of Lewes.
There are numerous golf courses - some are Bear Trap Dunes Ocean View Salt Pond Bethany Beach Cripple Creek Golf and CC Dagsboro, Kings Creek, CC Rehoboth Beach, Old Landing Golf Course Rehoboth Beach, Rehoboth CC. You can find more at golf-link.com

About Mary McDevitt
Mary is my rental manager for the last 10 years, and I, Ralph Picard, am the owner. You will be working primarily with Mary. Growing up in Ohio, I first saw the ocean when in college. I immediately loved the energy and excitement that the ocean provided. I've discovered that here is tranquility in the air that is very easy to take in. That is one of the reasons all three of our homes have pools. I have built, rented and sold 9 beach vacation rental homes since 1985, my first one an ocean front home in Bethany Beach. Before building I talked to many realtors and asked what it takes to comfortably support large groups of family and or friends. Here are the key features of the homes that comfortably support large groups in our three best in class vacation homes: • Cooking for the Gang: The kitchens are fully equipped chef's kitchens and spacious. There are 2 BBQs, 2 sinks and 3 refrigerators. • A Room Of Their Own: Plenty of sleeping spots and bathrooms. Yes, the homes can hold three families and have 3 or 4 Masters. • The Plus of Privacy: These vacation rental homes have dens and many porches away from the great room/kitchen/dining room for different ages and activities to hang. • Plenty Of Activities: The rental houses have private heated swimming pools, hot tubs (relax at night in star light with a beer) and many TVs and Wi-Fi. • Room to Spare: The vacation homes are 3600 to 4200 square feet. • Off to the beach: There are beach caddies to haul your beach "stuff." And two of the homes are only a one-minute walk to the beach. • Plenty Of Outdoor Activity: In a 10 minute walk or less there over 25 restaurants, and coffee shops, hoagie shops, a multiplex movie theater, bike rentals, 3 mini golf courses, a water slide, a go cart track, and many shops. And in a 10 minute drive there are another 30 restaurants, many shops, and a boardwalk and amusement park.

Why Mary McDevitt chose Fenwick Island
Fun, Fun, Fun - Private heated pool, 8+ bikes, 6 person hot tub, WIFI, and close to the beach. And, it comfortably fits 3 families and large groups. Maybe most of all the home is just 100 steps to the ocean, and our beach is amazingly uncrowded unlike most resort beaches. (please see the photos in the slide show of Bethany Beach vs Fenwick beaches on the busiest day of 2015.) For food and entertainment, we are within walking distance of many restaurants, coffee shops, go cart track, water slide, movie theater, Fishers popcorn and various stores. You can take guided local tours in kayaks, and there great biking in the area. Plus there is an amusement park a few miles away as well as two boardwalks. Private pool, hot tub, 5 bikes, WIFI, only close to the beach, many restaurants, coffee shops, stores within walking distance, local tours in kayaks, and great biking in the area. And an amusement park a few miles away as well as two boardwalks. And of course, the large heated pool and the hot tub. (there is only one other pool in a rental home in Fenwick.)
What makes this House unique
I love the access to the pool and hot tub from the three different spots and the wet bar just inside the home from the pool. Also the open living area on the top floor supports great conversations and connecting and playing as a family or group of friends. The pool deck supports all of your gang hanging out and eating there. Also the open living area on the top floor supports great conversations and connecting and playing as a family or group of friends. My favorite spot is BBQ'ing on the deck off of the kitchen and watching my kids swim in the pool below. Besides the one minute walk to the beach and the pool, the best design feature of the home is the layout of multiple areas where guests can gather-a TV sleeping den on the ground level, the pool sleeping den with wet bar with the pool just four steps away, the computer den on the top floor, a private, and of course, the open space with the dining, kitchen and great room on the top floor. Plus there are five outdoor gathering areas: the rear top level deck off of a Master Suite, a top level deck on the front - great for drinks and dining, the mid level front private porch off of another Master, the huge pool and hot tub deck, and yes, my favorite, the BBQ deck off of the kitchen overlooking the pool. With this variety of gathering spaces, soft conversations and loud TV/music and conversations do not conflict.

Home away from home
This is our second year celebrating thanksgiving at the “red house” and we loved it even more the 2nd time around. The location is perfect for a family gathering and provides all the amenities for preparing a huge family turkey dinner! We hope to have more family celebrations at our “home away from home”. Thank you Mary for all your guidance.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There were a few minor issues that needed to be addressed like the remote control was missing for the TV in the main living room, light bulbs were missing out of the ceiling fan on the second level and the DVD player in the living room was not working.
We had a great stay, beautiful place and home!
I am so glad you had such a wonderful time at our house and found everything to your satisfaction. Hopefully, we will see you again! We have already rented almost 50% of our prime weeks next year so if you are interested in summer 2018 please contact me.
Red House was great!
My family and I had a great week on Fenwick Island! The house fit 15 of us easily. It was so close to the beach, and had all the amenities we could have asked for. Hope to be back one day!
We rented this home for a guy's golf getaway for a group of 8 friends. The house was great for our group with plenty of bed space and room for an old group of college buddies to spread out. The proximity to numerous courses allowed us to play a different course every day. At the end of the of day, we the private pool/hot tub and BBQ grills allowed us to catch up. As each of drove our own vehicle, the ample off-street, private parking was a huge benefit for our group. We heard the neighbors complain about receiving parking tickets for having to park on the street without a permit. And although the beach was only a few feet away, our time on the course limited our time on the beach (although a few of us spent some time in the sand...). Looking forward to coming back again next year!
It was exactly what we expected...and was lovely
All involved were friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time...thank you.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our property. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to having you next year.
